Half-blood Hufflepuff

written by Brielle Evans

Brielle was a half-blood and she was a Hufflepuff. Here is her story of being proud of her house and her blood status. You don't have to be a Gryffindor to be brave, a Slytherin to be cunning or a Ravenclaw to be a good student. Hopefully Brielle's story changes the way you view people. As a side-note I am not saying that Hufflepuff is better than the other houses. They are all equally great and I shall try not to portray any of them in a unworthy manner.

Hufflepuff vs Slytherin

Chapter 5
Brielle adjusted her gloves and took a deep breath to calm her nerves. It was her first game as one of Hufflepuffs chasers and she didn't want to mess it up. As she waited for the quaffle to be released she focused on Slytherins bludgers, to feel out their expertise. She was surprised to see that Owen was one of the beaters. He saw her looking and waved. She frowned in return, now was the time to win. She had always been extremely competitive for as long as she could remember. Winning was everything to her. Adrenaline swept through her as the game began. She grabbed the quaffle and dove under the Slytherin seeker. Grinning she tossed it to Marissa who executed some fancy spirals and tossed it back to Brielle for the score. The Hufflepuffs held the lead for the entire game, but just barely. The game ended when Laura Stein, the Hufflepuff seeker, caught the snitch. "Yea", Brielle high-fived Marissa. Suddenly something came skimming toward her and connected with her arm with a sickening crunch. Barely holding on to her broom, she lowered herself to the ground and collapsed in Madame Pomfrey's capable arms. The last thing she saw before everything went black was Owen yelling at the other Slytherin bludger. "I don't know why everyone thinks Slytherins are bad," she mumbled.
