My Magical Transportation Journal

My journal for my Magical Transportation class. This contains all the essays I turned in, so they'll know if you plagiarize it. I'm publishing it because why the heck not. Maybe this will inspire you or something. I don't know.

Carpet Flying Jounral (Y3L3)
Chapter 2
Carpet flying was both fun and comfortable. My team worked very well together to fly and control the carpet. We each had a turn leading and during the times when I wasn't leading, I followed the leader with everyone else and there were no problems with communication. When I was leader, I immediately performed the spell correctly and we were able to gather ourselves before flying. We worked well together when I was leader just as we had when the others were leaders. We got the Quaffle first, but lost it trying to pass. We were forced to pass because the carpet did not have the speed or agility to avoid the other team. We ended up winning due to better communication, which shows how important your fellow riders are when flying a carpet. Neither team was very agile or swift.
Personally, I pefer brooms over flying carpets for a number of reasons. First of all, a broom doesn't need enchanted everytime you'd like to use it. Secondly, while carpets are comfy, brooms are both faster and more agile. Steering is easy enough on both. Neither have any precautions if the rider fell off, but it is harder to fall off a carpet than a broom. I believe that while they both have advantages and disadvantages, it is better, in my case anyway, to use a broom rather than a flying carpet. Plus, carpets are outlawed anyway so I have to use a broom either way.
The Ministry probably banned flying carpets because it would be much to easy for a Muggle to get their hands on one. Once the carpet is charmed, there probably isn't a way to counter the charm. Then, if a Muggle did get a magic carpet, the memory charm would have to erase the Muggle's memory of getting the carpet, all memories that involved the carpet, and the memory of whatever trouble the carpet caused. It would be a huge mess to clean up and it would happen incredibly often.
