Chapter 1. Birthday
Chapter 1
Hi my name is Sophie Smith. My sister, Ashlyn , gets everything. That is all going to change today on my eleventh birthday when I get my letter to Hogwarts. After thinking I am a squib all my life I finally get to prove that my parents are wrong. I woke up feeling disoriented, but then I remembered. Today is my birthday! My birthday just happens to be on the day kids get there acceptance letters to Hogwarts. I am so excited. Hopefully I will get a letter. Mabey my mum and dad will get me a new dress for my sister's wedding. I think his name is Carter Candle. I think they graduated together. I went over to my desk and took a selfie with my phone. I'll have to get it printed later to put in my book of good memories. It only has one picture. That was when I went to summer camp for two months away from my parents. My curly auburn hair fell over my shoulders. Ashlyn's hair is straight. Her hair is pure blonde. Her eyes are a perfect blue. Mine are hazelnut. I don't look like anyone in my family. Mabey I was adopted. I brushed my hair. Mabey I should dye it. Mabey I should get blue contacts. I put my favorite dress on. ( purple with blue stripes) I put a purple bow in my hair. I walked down the stairs and sat down at the table. " Here," Mum said and put a piece of soggy bacon on my plate. " Thanks," I grumbled. " Happy Birthday," Dad said and laid a large package on the table. I opened the package. Inside was my very own broom! " Here you go," Mum put a small, grubby package on the table. I opened it. Inside was a necklace that had the family crest on it. " Thank you, so much," I said. I put on the necklace. " Mumsie Wumsie and Popsy Wopsy, I'm home, " A voice rang out. " Uuuuuugggghhhh," I grumbled and banged my head on the table. Ashlyn came in. '' Happy Birthday," She said and handed me a large package. I opened it and inside was a hideous dress. It was an orange, frilly dress with lacey sleeves. " Gee thanks" I grumbled. An owl pecked on the window. '' Sophie go get it," Dad told me. I stood up and opened the window and the owl flew in. I looked at the letter. It said: Sophie Smith 556 Gooding Road London, England. I opened it. " Oh my gosh," I screeched. " How about we go to Diagon Alley today," Dad said. " Okay," Mum said.
