Important Planet Facts
Chapter 5
Each of the planets are important in the solar system. They each have characteristics that set each other apart. All of the planets are very different and unique.
Mercury has no moons and is not extremely hot even though it's closest to the Sun. It can be viewed in the night sky.
Venus also has no moons but is extremely hot because it is surrounded by clouds that trap the heat on the planet's surface.
We live on Earth. It is a planet full of life. It cannot be viewed in the night sky since we live on it.
Mars is a red planet. It has two moons unlike the Earth which only has one.
Jupiter is the first gassy planet. It has a Great Red Spot where a storm was discovered by Muggles and is still going on to this day. It has the most moons of the planets of our solar system.
Saturn has rings and is a gassy planet. It has many moons. It is slightly smaller than Jupiter.
Uranus is a gassy and icy planet. It is large and has about 20 moons.
Neptune is the farthest planet from the Sun. It is gassy and icy just like Uranus. It's so far from Earth that a telescope must be used to view it. It has about 10 moons.
The planets of the solar system differ in many ways due to their varying characteristics that make each unique from each other. The movements of the planets ties into the field of astrology, which is a branch of Divination.
