Arrival of Eriumasd the Kaplanthasian
Chapter 5
"OPAL!!!! WHAT ON ZINDOE DID YOU DO?" cried one of my friends as she passed the maids, pushes past the furniture and sat slumped beside my bed. Farah sat beside her twin sister, Ferna, and their animals, Spotty the Leopard Gecko, who belonged to Farah, and Elica the cat, who belonged to Ferna, sat and crouched on their lap and shoulder.
"Farah, it's nothing serious, its just a cut....aargh" I breathed in pain as the cut started to blacken, and black dust started to surround my arm, eating away the light of my body, and replacing it with the dark. It was reaching my elbow until it stopped, and stayed there. Its been happening ever since yesterday, when I touched that dagger, which, of course I did not tell anyone about. It was quite a painful night, moving and shifting as the darkness travelled up my arm. The maid came rushing over, he saw that my arm was blackening, and covered it in Swectrium juice with a bandage over the top. Swectrium is the saliva of a Swectriugh, which is a four eyed, giant frog, which lives in dark caves, and is rarely seen in daylight, so, that saliva must have been pretty hard to get, as a Swectriugh is also know for their poisonous skin, and their deadly eyes, which can spray or shoot poison from the pupil. Putting it on sucked, the saliva was digging its way into the darkness, eating it away, as most of that stuff went down to my wrist.
"What sis you actually do Opal?" asked Farah and Ferna in synch.
"Well...... it's too hard to explain." I said, thinking of a way to tell them without anyone else hearing.
"Please tell us." said Ferna, as she stroked Elica, who was purring on her lap, eyes closed, probably dreaming of being in the wild.
"Ok, you know when I marched out of the bedroom," they both nodded stupidly, but hilariously, this made me smile from ear to ear, as their eyes were like a Youigi's, and their mouths floppy.
"Well, I ran down a spiral staircase, and didn't know where the Griuth I was, I ran on, and the hall was dark, torches were lit, and there was a glass case at the end, I walked towards it, and the closer I walked, the darker the hall went behind me. When I reached the case, there was a dagger in it, and a label above it read: Dagger of Aa'eedah. When I opened the lid..."
"Why in the name of the four gods did you open the lid?!" asked Ferna, her face shocked and scared.
"Well, I opened the lid, and looked at the blade, which said, Duihja klopder dan muchni, froh timed dne pourlijna asdgh qeiirtnes. I hope you both know what that means." I said. They did. Their faces were full of fear, fright and worry. They were both terrified.
"I picked up the dagger, and it started to glow green, I dropped it back in the glass case, just before a green, faceless, scarred figure came gliding towards me, hands in front of him, mouth open. There was an ear piercing s ream, as it glided past me, grazing my shoulder. And that is where I got this." I pointed at my left arm, which was black, dust and ash black.
"So... and that is where I found you, at the stairs of a haunted corridor?" asked Ferna.
"Yes, that is where you found me, and brought me here." I said. "But what were you doing in here?"
"Oh..... I was.... practicing." said Ferna, whilst circling an earth ball between her fingers.
"I thought you were just a normal person." I said, amazed that she bended the same element as me.
"Well, my mother was an earth bender, and father was water bender." said Farah.
"So you're both.......?" I asked in total surprise, as they both nodded, smiling mischeviously.
"I'm a water bender. Ferna's the earth bender." said Farah, bending a droplet of water, out from a vase and into her mouth, and smiled. OMG!!! I'M NOT A LONER!!!!
Suddenly, there were voices outside the room, male voices walking past us.
"I promise you, Lord Eriumasd. I do not want any trouble. And what are your people doing in this castle? You haven't ever entered our lands since the Battle of Escorpiath." said a voice, which was of my father. Witches and wizards had entered Vasiliatopea. Not since the battle had a witch of wizards even entered our skies. It wasn't possible.
"I hope that Fhounge, my Kopliusnd, is in safe hands? I presume one of your stable boys has been feeding him." said a very deep voice, a voice belonging to a man. They were entering this room. We had to leave.
"I am sorry, Lord Eriumasd, but we have animal keepers, not stable boys, and most of our keepers are female, and excellent with the animals." said Father, as he opened the door to the room that we were sitting in.
"Hide." whispered Ferna and Farah together. I fell onto the floor, trying to avoid hitting my arm, and slid right under the couch, which was amazingly high.
"We'll get out. Ok? And head for the stables." said Farah.
"Ok." I whispered back, as the voices entered the room. They were going to get into trouble. Or maybe Father will let them off, this room was after all, where the keepers would meet. Father and Eriumasd stopped, and stared at Ferna and Farah, looking them up and down.
"What are you two....." started Eriumasd, but Father interrupted.
"This is a room for the keepers, where they discuss what they will be doing with the animals, where they get research on how to take care of the animals. You both probably heard that Lord Eriumasd had a Kopliusnd? And wanted to find out how to take care of it?" asked Father, making it sound quite obvious he wanted them to say yes.
"N...... Yes. My Lord." said Ferna, shaking, as Farah went to find a book on Kopliusnds. "We were just finding a book on the Kopliusnd, on what they ate, drank, what to do with their feathers."
"Well, I suggest you rake the book, and leave. We have some business to attend to." said Eriumasd, clutching his Majkuil wood staff. Ferna and Farah left quietly, each carrying a book, and walked out the door. They left. They were gone. They left to look after a Kopliusnd.
"So, let us get down to business." said Father, sitting in one of the nicest chairs. "What are you doing here?" The gaze from Eriumasd's face fell into a frown. His eyes became narrow, and his smile went upside down.
"Is that any of your business?" said Eriumasd, as he looked down at the floor, turning his back on my father.
"Yes, because this is my land, not yours, and you haven't even set foot in our skies since the Battle of Escorpiath." said Father, as he stood up slowly from his chair, his snow leopard rising. Eriumasd just got buuuurrned.
"Yes, but this is serious." said Eriumasd, rising from his own chair, clutching his staff.
"What, may I ask, is important enough for you to break piece between our worlds, cause maids, and villagers to stay up late in their homes because of the terrible memories you have brought back to our minds. WHAT?! Is wrong with you and your world?" asked my father, leaning against the table, hands flat on the desk. Eriumasd drew closer to where father was standing, and leaned closer to his ear.
"Dark magic has been spreading through the land..."
"You think I haven't noticed that yet?" sniggered Father, as Eriumasd drew a very serious face, and Father calmed.
"I'm being very serious now. ark creatures have been lurking in the woods of my planet, Xeliupfolius, creatures that have never been there before. I know where the magic is coming from. Which planet it is coming from." said Eriumasd.
"Where?" asked Father, as he shank back into his seat and stayed there.
"Middle-earth." whispered Eriumasd. The look on father's face was unforgettable, his face was ghostly white, and the sound of the word Middle-earth, gave him the shivers. There were terrible tales about here, but I don't wanna talk about it. It's too scary. There are many places on my planet that are evil, have evil creatures. But Dark magic coming from that planet? He must be a total d*** to say that!!!
"Impossible." said Father, face still ghostly white.
"Possible, as a matter of act. I have traced down the darkness...." he said, walking back and forth, "to the country, fortress of Dol Guldur." said Eriumasd. Father nearly fell down with total shock, the abandoned fortress of Dol Guldur was peaceful, it had never been taken by the darkness.
"Leave. Leave." Said father, clutching the chair, using it to balance himself up. Eriumasd looked as though he had smelt fresh Solplig dung. His nose tightened, his eyes full of disgust. He marched right out of the room, his silver cloak flowing, trailing and gliding over the marble floor.
"You can come out now , Opal." Said father, as the stomping of Eriumasds' footsteps had erupted down the staircase. My heart skipped a beat and was aching of fear. How did he know I was here? His did he know I was actually under the couch? That, I could not understand.
"Farah, it's nothing serious, its just a cut....aargh" I breathed in pain as the cut started to blacken, and black dust started to surround my arm, eating away the light of my body, and replacing it with the dark.
