Dagger of Aa'eedah
Chapter 4
I screamed in frustration in my bedroom, as Meeko, Nori, Roxanne, Ruby, Eris, Analia, Ferna, Farah and Eva, all my friends, were sitting on my bed, looking quite shocked to see me this angry.
"I'm sorry, I had to tell your father. You would have died if I didn't." said Annalise.
"What are you so angry anyway? You must be scared and worried about the future, about our home." said Eris.
"I don't care about our home, I don't care about the stupid Kaplanthasians. All I want to do, is to be free, run wild through the forests of Zindoe on Gimli, with Nori and Meeko by my side. I've just been grounded for a month all because I just wanted to do, what I wanted to the most. Explore. I mean, is that now illegal?" I said, falling flat onto the bed beside Roxanne. "He told me. father of course, that if I leave the Kingdom, I would regret it. And when he says it, it makes me feel like I'm his prisoner. I don't like it."
"When you got out of the hall, did you say anything to him?" asked Eva.
"No, but when he left, I told him to Cknul agth willk Scamthel!" I said, punching the wall.
"You didn't." said Ruby, straightening up with a shocked face.
"As a matter of fact....... I did. And don't make me tell you to. It would make me much happier if he did." I said.
"What does that mean? And what was that language?" asked Roxanne, wondering what was actually happening.
"You don't want to know." I said.
"It mean........ go and kill yourself. And the language is quite an ancient one, that we royals have to learn to speak. Opal, was a bit too good, and learnt almost every word she could think of. Its called....... Gahenqua." said Ruby in disgust, as she shuffled uncomfortably on my bed.
"Well that wasn't a nice thing to say Opal." said Roxanne, shocked as she thought about who I said that too.
"Actually, in my opinion, it was a complement." I said, spreading an evil smirk across my face as I started out the window, gazing out over green fields.
"How could you say that about your own father?!" asked Ferna.
"He's my father, I can say whatever I want about him." now that triggered Ruby. She stood up, marched over to me, and forced me to look her in the eyes.
"Never........ NEVER say anything like that about father," said Ruby, her voice as cold as ice.
"Who said he was my father." I said, matching off out of the room, leaving the door open so Meeko and Nori could come after me. I marched down the spiral staircase, not stopping at no matter what was behind or in front of me, I didn't care. I passed the hall, not bothering to do the motions, passed the dining hall, passed the kitchen.
"Lady Opal!! I was wondering if you would like to...." asked a young cook.
"NOT NOW!!!!!!!!" I screamed, marching away from the kitchen, passed the entrance, passed the hall of the Gods, and down another set of spiral staircases, and slowed down. I've never been in here before. This is all new to me. Where am I? The passage was dark, flaming red as human made fire li the way, burning on Hiunog bark. There were glass cases filing the centre of the walls, each filled with weapons. I carried on walking, as the passage became darker, and the torches became dimmer. Then, at the end of the hall, there was a small glass case. Inside, was a small dagger, about seven inches long, with a celtic knot handle, and a clean, silver blade. About the case, was a small plate, reading: Dagger Of Aa'eedah, made 1239.
That was old, I looked down at the dagger, and saw a small shine, a little picture of something appeared on the blade. It was a symbol, a dog. I opened the lid, ad touched it. Visions popped in and out of my head, visions of Kaplanthasians, visions of the world turning to ask and stone, castled ruined, visions....... of my dead family. I screamed and let go of the dagger, clutching my hand. I stared back down at it, and writing appeared on the blade, a bright red colour, as though freshly carved in the a hot stick. It said, Duihja klopder dan muchni, froh timed dne pourlijna asdgh qeiirtnes. I stood there in horror, as I watched the writing of the dagger disappear. Duihja klopder dan muchni, hide inside your homes, froh timed dne pourlijna, for the Dark Lord, asdgh qeiirtnes, noo..... it cannot happen, the Dark Lord was destroyed ages ago by Aa'eedah. Asdgh qeiirtnes...... means.... has returned. I turned and ran back towards the door, and to find them tight shut. The lights were being blown out by the darkness as it gliding non stop towards me. Wind screamed in the cracks in the wall, and dust flew against my feet. I turned round to find the dagger glowing green, as bright as grass. And a faceless figure came squealing out of the light with an ear piercing scream, scars and arrows on every inch of the body, gliding motionless towards me, mouth open and teeth showing. I ducked in time, as it flew to me, arms ready to take me in for dinner, to devour my organs and bones to dust. As it flew down the corridor, the darkness seemed to become light, the cracks became walls, and the wind became still air, as it disappeared through the walls. It was gone, as I stood up, and realised it skimmed my arm, which had a five inch cut in it. As I clutched my left arm, I scrambled up the stairs, gripping onto the bannisters, limping up step by step.
"OH MY DRA'AGGERA, OPAL!!!! WHAT DID YOU DO?!" came a voice from behind me, as I reached the ground floor. It was Ferna. She came rushing over to me, as I limped onto the floor, clutching hard at my left arm, and she helped me stand straight, and walked me to the closest room. As soon as the maid saw me, she flung me onto the nearest bed, and bandaged me up. It was lucky that she was an apprentice nurse. This was just great.
"I'm sorry, I had to tell your father. You would have died if I didn't." said Annalise.
