What lies behind that mask

That smiling face

I see the pain in their eyes

The way they try to hide it

Like it doesn’t exist

Isn’t their own

I want to help them with all my heart

But I’m in pain too

What can I do

All I have to give is a prayer

One for Healing and Peace

One for patience

And trust that it’ll all be ok

What has happened in their lives

I really don’t need to

All they need I’ll be there

Just a shoulder for tears

Open arms for comfort

Or just an ear

Someone to confide in

It’s the least I can do

These people I can trust

Friends or family

Is a song of Hope

For a brighter tomorrow for all.
