Alone a man sits in a house full of woes,
Silently weeping as his heartbeat slows.
Losing the will to live on and grow old,
He embraces the darkness and leaves this world cold.

"We are gathered here today to celebrate the light,
of a man whose woes were devoured night.
Forever will we cherish our memories of him,
For without his light our world is now grim."

Alone a man sits in the darkness so deep,
Rejoicing at the loss of what caused him to weep.
Finally free from the hate and the lies,
he wept once more at his wife's own demise.

He watched in horror as his wife slit her throat,
and he let out a cry of a deafening note.
She appeared before him, and said solemnly,
"Why did you leave me? Why did you flee?"

He lost her gaze and said in shame,
"I'm sorry, my love, but it is you I blame.
My love for you was torturing me,
But by leaving you, I could finally be free."
