Once upon a time, there lived a magnificent girl. She was nine. Her name was Pearl. Pearl Everhaert. Pearl lived on a farm with her father, Earl Everhaert. Her only mother had did in a terrible car accident in New York City. It was too busy and crowded there, so they moved to the countryside. 

           Pearl loved her father, and trusted his instincts to move away, but she deeply missed the city. And especially, her friends. They did not make enough money to be able to buy cards to send to her friends, much less get an electronic to chat with them. The only money they had was to buy the things that they needed like food, water, clothing, and shelter. Their money amount was scarce.
