written by Liam D./ Liam P./Jason M.

Chapter 2
I won’t be naming the book; sorry but this is what i loved about it -
1. "So this guy," I said, standing in the doorway of the living room, “François Rabelais. He was this poet. And his last words were, ' I go to seek a Great Perhaps.' That's why I'm going. So I don't have to wait until I die to start seeking a Great Perhaps."
2. "She smiled with the right side of her mouth, “Well later, I found out what it [her name] means. Its from an Aleut word, Alyeska. It means, 'That which the sea breaks against' and I love that. But at the time, I just saw Alaska up there. And it was big, just like I wanted to be. And it was damn far away from Vine Station, just like I wanted to be."
3. "You spend your whole life stuck in the labyrinth, thinking about how you'll escape one day, and how awsome it will be, and imagining that future keeps you going, but you never do it. You just use the future to escape the present."
4. "......So I walked back to my room and collapsed on the bottom bunk, thinking that if people were rain, I was drizzle and she was a hurricane........"
5. "She didn't even glance at me. She just smiled towards the television and said, “You never get me. That's the whole point." ((**Authors note - this line is secretly dedicated to Amber, whom I never understand))
6.I cannot stop thinking that is is dead, and I cannot stop thinking that she cannot possibly be dead. People do not just die."
7. That is fear. I have lost something important , and I cannot find it, and i need it. It is fear like if someone lost his glasses and went to the glasses store and they told him that the world had run out of glasses and he would just have to do without.
8. "I was caught in a love triangle with one dead side."
9. "I wanted to be the last one she loved. And i knew i wasn't. I knew it and I hated her for that. I hated her for not caring about me. I hated her for leaving that night, and I hated myself too, not only because I let her go, but because if I had been enough for her, she wouldn't have even wanted to leave. "
10. When you stopped wishing things wouldn't fall apart, you'd stop suffering when they did.
11. She didn't leave me enough to discover her, but she left me enough to rediscover the Great Perhaps.
12. I would never know her well enough to know her thoughts in those last minutes, would never know if she left us on purpose. But the non-knowing would not keep me from caring, and I would always love Alaska Young, my crooked neighbor, with all my crooked heart.
13. So I know she forgives me, just as I forgive her.
15. Thomas Edison's last words were," It's very beautiful over there." - I don't know where "there" is, but I know it's somewhere, and I hope it's beautiful.
I think by now you might have guessed the book ? right ? its "Looking For Alaska" by John Green.
