Where'd Reg go?
Chapter 13
Marlene woke up early the next morning around 5:45 for an Order meeting.She dressed into a denim jacket with a weird sisters shirt and black shorts. She headed out if her room and into the kitchen.She searched the cabinets for a cup and brewed some coffee.She entered the meeting room and decided to stand rather than sit.She sipped her coffee while Dumbledore talked. Once he finished he added,"Miss McKinnon.I will have Mr. Black test you for health reasons.Considering you weren't exactly yourself the other day." He said nodding towards Regulus. "Ok professor." Marlene replied and left to sit her cup in the kitchen. She walked up to her room and read the daily prophet.
About an hour later Marlene heard a knock on her door."Come in." She said as she magically unlocked the door.Regulus walked in with nothing but his wand. "I thought it took more than a wand to test someone?" She asked putting the prophet down."I've found an easier way." Regulus said. "Stand up." Marlene stood up and let her arms drop. Regulus pulled his wand out his sleeve. He ran it in front of her up and down muttering something she didn't quite understand."I'll be right back." He said leaving Marlene's room.
He came back with a small vial."What's that?" She asked with an odd expression. "Veritaserum.Dumbledore wants to know why you were acting so weird." Regulus said handing the vial to Marlene. She drank it and made a disgusted and sour look. "Taste like vinegar." She said. "Ok ready?" "I guess." "Are you studying occlumencey?" Regulus asked. "No." "Ok.Are you doing drugs?" "What kind of question is that?And no!" Marlene said a bit offended."Ok.Sorry.Have you been anywhere besides the Orders base?" "Yes.Fenwicks house." "Why?" "Tell them yourself." "Veritaserum does not fully work on you." Regulus said. "What can I say?I was born into a stubborn family." Marlene Smiled. "Well that's it." "Really?" "Yeah.Oh Dumbledore asked me to tell you that Slughorn has arranged a ball and that you're invited." Regulus said before leaving. "Wouldn't miss it." Regulus smiled and left her room to inform Dumbledore. Marlene heard someone yelling. She walked out if her room to find Vernon arguing with Sirius."You are going to jail!" Vernon laughed at Sirius. "Why?What the hell did I do?" Sirius asked. "You lied." "I didn't know you went to jail for lying." "You dont Sirius." Marlene said. Sirius turned to look at her. "Wait this is Sirius?" Vernon asked. "I thought this was the other one." Sirius and Marlene gave a concerned look at each other. "Where'd Reg go?" Marlene asked. "On a mission in the muggle area." Sirius said.The color from his face drained. Sirius ran to his room. Marlene grabbed her wand and apparated to an abandoned shed. Sirius did the same.
