Description: Rips, tears or shreds, or otherwise physically damages the target.
Seen/Mentioned: Used twice in 1994, the first time being by Harry Potter to cut Cedric Diggory's bag in order to talk to the latter, and the second time being used by Ron Weasley to cut the lace from the cuffs of his dress robes in an attempt to make them seem less feminine. Later in 1998, Harry Potter used this spell to crack open the surface of a frozen lake in an attempt to get the Sword of Gryffindor under the layer of solid ice.
