Hayzel was a very shy little girl, and she found it hard to make friends. Her and Coco were friends from a very young age, and they met Isla when they were 3. Hayzel found it easy to get comfortable with Isla, much like she did with Coco, and because of this, she became great friends with both of them.

Hayzel's parents always tried to help her get over how shy she was, but nothing ever worked. Hayzel was okay with having very few friends, because she had Isla and Coco, and that was enough for her.

Through the years while her, Isla, and Coco were studying and practicing magic, she began to learn more about herself, as well as her friends. She began to learn more about who she was, and later understood her attraction to females after making amortentia. She began to grow romantic interest, and later started a relationship with Coco. Hayzel felt safe with Isla and Coco, and always felt at home with them.
