Isla Carson
Chapter 4
On the train ride to Hogwarts, Isla sat with her two friends, Coco and Hayzel. They were still great friends, but they were still unaware of Isla's friendship with Draco.
Once arriving at Hogwarts, they went into the Great Hall and began the sorting ceremony.
When Isla went up and sat down, everyone expected the sorting hat to yell 'Slytherin' as soon as it was placed on her head, like it did with all previous Carsons and Malfoys. But to everyone's surprise, and her parent's displeasure, the sorting hat placed her in Ravenclaw after several minutes.
Her friend Coco was also sorted into Ravenclaw, and her friend Hayzel was sorted into Hufflepuff.
After leaving the great hall, Isla was walking through the corridors with Coco and talking about the surprise of her house placement. While they were walking, Draco came and started walking beside Isla, which was a surprise to Coco. Isla took that opportunity explain her friendship to Coco.
Later on in the day, Isla was having trouble sleeping because of worrying about what her parents would say to her the next morning. Coco, feeling sorry for her friend, tried to make her feel better. Isla expressed her confusion of being sorted into Ravenclaw, since all known Carsons were sorted into Slytherin. Coco in turn confessed that she wasn't surprised.
Coco explained that since they were little kids, she noticed that Isla hadn't been as troublesome as previous Carsons. She saw that Isla wasn't as interested in causing trouble as she was in learning spells and improving her magical abilities. She explained that since most of her time as a child was spent studying rather than misbehaving, which led Isla to becoming the youngest known witch to ever be able to preform magic without the use of a wand, she knew for years that Isla wasn't meant to be a Slytherin. She could see that Isla was meant to be a Ravenclaw all along.
Upon hearing this, Isla felt better about the situation, but was still worried about what her parents would say.
