Transformation is the topic covered in Hogwarts from year 1 to 4. This is an important branch as said before and the most easy transformation is matchsticks to needle.
The Transformation spells are of two types static and dynamic type. Static types lose their effect as soon as the spell is cast but the effect of dynamic spell continues it's effect.
A lot of will power is required to perform transformations. When Will power and concentration is added it's up to you fully on what thing you change it.
Concentration and Confidence are also necessary for transferring one object to another. Concentration could be said as the brain of a Transfiguration.
