Chapter Three:

Nikola’s POV.
1500.

She glared down at me; I could see her fangs sitting just
below her top lip. Faint, dark veins were forming around her eyes, so subtly
that they would be invisible to most humans. I froze in place—what was I
supposed to say to her! "I… um, I’m--" I stuttered; she had me locked
in her glare.

"I said who are
you!" She hissed, her eyes flashing red. I opened my mouth, but no words
came out. "Who are you and how did you get in here?" She snapped; her
hand shot towards my neck.

I glared back at her as I suddenly found the ability to
defend myself, "Bloody hell, would you give me a minute to actually say
something, dammit!" I growled, pulling her tight grip away from my neck
with ease. She blinked at me and stood back, looking at me with her mouth open;
I was probably the first person to ever speak to her like that… serves her
right though.

The door banged against the wall, causing us both to spin
around in shock. A man charged through the door, his shoulder length brown hair
flew out behind him as he stormed over. "What is going on here?" He
questioned, his eyes narrowing as he took in the two of us staring daggers at
each other. I stepped away, attempting my innocent look as the man waited for
us to exclaim. The two of them seemed vaguely familiar to me, but I couldn’t
tell from where exactly.

The woman was quick to answer, she made sure to look down at
me with a glare before she began, "That girl walked straight into my room—
without knocking, and insulted me,
the little rat!" She folded her arms and looked to the man, most likely
waiting for approval to kick my ass.

"Hey, I got lost" I shrugged, widening my eyes to
give him the puppy dog look.

She scoffed at me, "Your rudeness was uncalled for,
girl." She growled.

My jaw dropped, “Hey, you’re the one who grabbed me by the
bloody neck!” I yelled; how dare she!

"Look," The man sighed, rubbing his temples,
"What’s your name?" He asked, looking to me.

I bit my lip slightly as I answered, "Nikola.”

"Well Nikola,
get out." She grabbed my shoulder and pushed me towards the open door, she
held up her long shadowy green dress with her other hand as she shoved me.

"Fine" I smirked, raising my hands as I skipped
over to the door. My foot caught on the hem of the bloody dress, making me
stumble as I walked through the door. I fell on to my hands and grimaced at the
shooting pain that radiated up my arms with the impact. I groaned in
frustration as I tried to push myself up and tripped over the dress again. A
smug laugh reverberated behind me from the annoying blonde cow. A strong hand
grabbed my elbow as I tried, yet again, to stand up. The brown haired man
pulled me up with a disapproving look. We walked out into the hall away from
the girls room.

I sighed, looking away from him in annoyance, "Seriously,
can you just leave me alone? I don’t know why I’m here, or how I got here… I
just need to get back home. Mom’s probably having a bloody fit at the
moment." I snapped. I walked faster to get in front of him.

He too quickened his pace, and caught up with me easily. He
looked down at me, "Your mother and father should tell you how to watch
your language talking to a Lord." He said seriously.

I burst into laughter, “I ‘Lord’ my ass; and I’m Queen of
Pixie-Land!” I giggled, stopping in the middle of the stone hall.

His face reddened as he turned towards me, "Do you have
any idea of who I am, girl?" He hissed and pulled up heavy, dark blue sleeves.

I swallowed and shook my head, causing my loose waves to
fall into my face, "Am I supposed to…?" I asked slowly. I pushed my
long hair behind my ears and looked up to the fuming man.

He towered over me and released a long breath, "I am
the Lord Elijah Mikaelson; older brother to Lord Niklaus and Lady Rebekah. And
you, girl, are just a measly peasant girl I found on the road; who I was kind
enough to help. And now I find out, not only is she ungrateful I saved her, but
she is also incapable of holding her tongue!" The man, Elijah yelled in my
face. I recoiled from him, my eyes widened.

I stood taller and grinned at him, "I can so hold my tongue.”
I stuck my tongue out and held it with my fingers, "See." I released
my tongue and looked up at him.

In less than a second, Elijah’s arm outstretched towards me.
He gripped my neck tightly. I let out a choking noise as he pinned me to the
wall; my feet hung off the ground below me. I glared at him and pushed him off,
sending him flying into the opposite wall and myself back onto the ground from
where he was holding me up. As he slid down the opposite wall, I noticed the
large dint the force I threw him with left in the wall.

I stood above him, my hair settled wildly over my back and
face, “And how do you like it, Lord Elijah.” I growled.

He quickly stood up, shaking his head, "You’re a
vampire?" Elijah gasped, taking in my dark red eyes and golden pupil;
along with my fangs and the shadowy veins that had formed around my eyes.

"Correction-- a true born hybrid actually." I hissed
and sped off down the stairs.

The guard at the small door at the bottom of the stairs looked
at me oddly, but let me through. It was dimly lit and overcast outside, but it
wasn’t too cold thankfully. I kept walking further from the castle doors,
veering my way to what looked like a stable. I let out the anxious and tired
breath I had been hold and sat down at the base of a tall oak tree. The soft
grass made for a nice seat as I attempted to collect my thoughts. I picked up a
leaf that had fallen beside me, the yellowed leaf crumbled at the edges as I
held. Sitting it back down, I let my head rest against the tree and let out the
tired breath I had been holding all morning. This whole situation was just
stupid; the last thing I remember was hanging out with Aunt Bonnie, and now I’m
stuck in the bloody fourteenth century with a bunch of homicidal vampire lords!
My mother is going to kill me when I get home. I bit my lip as it hit me, the
realisation I’d been ignoring all morning… I might not get home.

Something hard hit the tree, falling onto my head. I looked
up with a glare to see a laughing man with a handful of pebbles, "She's up."
He grinned, dropping the pebbles. His longish, dirty blonde hair flew about his
face with the light autumn breeze. I frowned as I took a closer look at him; he
looked familiar, just like those idiots Rebekah and Elijah. In fact his dark
blue eyes were fairly similar to my own.

“What do you mean, of course I’m up.” I jumped up from my
spot against the tree and walked over to where he’d sat on the low wall.

He smirked as he patted the wall beside him, "Nothing,
I was just stating the obvious.”

I rolled my eyes and sat down beside him, "No shit,
Sherlock. I know you were." I smacked my forehead as a look of confusion
settled over his face.

"Who is this Sherlock" Wondered the man, he looked
at me with curiosity.

"Just a guy" I replied, trying to hold back my
giggles—note to self, avoid sarcasm here.

"And what is your name, little girl?" He demanded
with a frown.

I narrowed my eyes at his demanding tone, “And why so many
questions random man? My name is Nikola, though.”

He cocked his head to the side, "That is an unusual
name…" He whispered; it sounded as though it were more to himself than
anyone else.

"It is not." I spat back, I quickly stood up from
where I was sitting and began walking away. Something tight gripped to my neck
suddenly, pinning me to the oak tree in an instant. It wasn’t the man; he was
still sitting on the wall, staring towards me confusedly.

Elijah glared at me as he held me to the tree, nearly a foot
or two above the ground, "Niklaus, this little wench is not worth it."

I rolled my eyes at Elijah, did he not learn anything after
what happened last time. I let out a loud battle cry and pushed him away from
me, sending him flying. I can defend myself against anyone; I am my mother’s
daughter after all.

The blonde man, Niklaus, stood up and sped to me, an
undecipherable look covered his face, “What is your full name, girl!” He shrieked, grabbed my arm tightly.

I winced at his tight grip and attempted to wriggle out of
it—to no prevail, he was prepared for me. "Do I have to, it's an incredibly
long name" I sighed as he grabbed my other arm and pinned me to the tree
again.

"Yes, you do." Rebekah appeared out of nowhere,
and flew to beside Niklaus, holding her dress up as she came to a stop.

I groaned and tried to wiggle again away from their grip,
"Nikola, Caroline, Katherine, Bonnie, Elena, Rebekah, Mikaelson – Forbes” I
finished, all in one breath. “I told you it was long.” I scowled. This time when
I tried to escape, their hold released. I staggered away and they all stared at
me with disbelief. My hand found its way to my pocket; I dug down to feel my
little wallet and gripped it tightly. It couldn’t be…
