Chapter Two

Chapter 3
Mora stayed after school to finish composing the new song she had started in Calculus. It sounded sounded so desperate, and desolate. As if isolated from the rest of the world. The song picked up when ever she saw the mysterious imaginary rider in the distance. Something about them brought a sense of familiarity Mora couldn't find else where.

It sent her yearning for Hyacinthum. The city so blue it could hurt your eyes. The flowing rivers crystal blue, the place walls that glittered under the sun. The vines that hung over every house that would glow a florescent blue in the dark.

And the people, they all had a distinctly blue feature. It was beautiful. But that world didn't exist outside of her imagination. So all she could do was remember and wish for what was. A knock at the music door caught her attention. She opened it.

"Were you the one playing in there?" Asked the youth leaning against the door frame.

"Yes, why?" Asked Mora suspicious. People don't just lurk around the music wing after school without a reason.

"I was just passing through and I heard, it was a beautiful piece who wrote it?" He inquired as he brushed past her into the piano room.

"I did," she muttered angrily as she walked in after.

"Well it was just beautiful, you should go into song writing," he said flipping through her sheet music.

"Please don't, it isn't finished yet," Mora said snatching the music back.

"Woah, someone's touchy," he said very condescendingly.

"Well, it's none of your business. So I'd appreciate it if you'd leave," she smiled trying to be as kind as she could to this infuriating... Wait.

"You catching on Bluebell?" He laughed a grin painting his face.

"Nobody's called me that since I was a little kid. And he was fake," she announced. If he was going to mess with her she was going to mess with him. She placed her music back down on the piano and started to play more of her emotions.

The happiness to see her childhood friend, the anguish it gave her. If he is real, which she wasn't sure he was, then Hyacinthum is real. That whole world of an imagination is real. But it can't be real. She was a child and made up a story, the Eritque arcus aren't real. Worlds of rainbows aren't real.

But here he was, the way he said Bluebell was the same as it always was. His brown eyes reminded her of home. But he couldn't be real. If he was real, then she left that city she left the world she cherished. The world where she was queen. And she was just an ordinary girl. The silence that fell after she stopped playing was broken by the boy clapping his hands loudly.

"Where did that come from?"

"I play my emotions. I don't know how," Mora shrugged. "Where did you come from?" The smiled vanished from his face.

"I came from Hya-. From the Vermilion city. And it's not under the right circumstances. After you left we were at peace. The Red they attacked again. And we didn't have enough power to protect ourselves."

"But we destroyed all reds, I thought it extreme."

"The Daughter of the king was hidden in a cave with the warlock Levi's son. They wove spells into Caeruleus. Without them the whole realm falls. And no amount of rebellion can stop it. Only one thing can. A prophecy issued by the soothsayer in Hyacinthum, now Vermilion. She said that one day a blue poison would come along and destroy everything they created. It's the only thing that can destroy them.

"So they eradicated everything blue. Our hair was dyed. Permanently. Eyes that were blue were carved out and burned. Those with blue skin were murdered. The vines were burned our houses demolished. The city went red.

"And now we need our rightful queen. Our best general. We need our Mora."

"But you're king. You can stop this, you're pure blue. I'm human. With human blood flowing through my veins. I'm too old, I don't have Sanguis. I can't cross over anymore. Even if you're real," she added.

"They haven't told you?" He asked genuinely shocked.

"Told me what?"

"They don't want you to know your heritage."

"Told me what Edmund?!"

"Your father is half blue half human. His father the latter. Your father is the late Blue king. And your mother is his queen, she's full Blue. You're barely human Mora," uttered Edmund. "That's why you don't feel like you belong. Because you don't."

Edmund kept speaking but it fell to the back of Mora's head. She felt woozy, her stomach churning. Her blood felt like it was boiling. It sounded like sirens were going off in her brain. An echo of a moment resurfaced.

"Darling you mustn't go back to Hyacinthum ever again. It's dangerous there that's why I left," said her father.

"But I like it there!"

"Please, for me?"

"No." Pouted the little girl.

"Elizabeth. Take the realness from her mind. Make it an imaginary world. I can't have her going back."

"Of course darling. But if she remembers it's real, she will remember this."

"She will never know."

Mora stood.

"Don't, it'll only make it worse."

"I have to. I need a ride home. Care to give me one?"

"As you wish Bluebell. But if you confront him it'll will only end badly," protested Edmund.

"Take me home." Rage was bursting out of Mora. And she knew where she wanted to direct it. Edmund lead her out to the side of the school, he had hidden his horse there. Mora was too angry to register that he was the mystery rider. Edmund pulled her on after himself. He rode as fast as he could to her house. Mora's father and mother were there. They wanted to surprise her with a gift for her sixteenth birthday. A debit card.

"FATHER!" She screamed as she barged into the house.

"Mora, what's wrong..." He saw Edmund after her. "I see."

"You took my memories. You took Hyacinthum away from me, my heritage?" She asked.

"That place is dangerous. I left-"

"Because you're a coward that couldn't handle a simple threat. Well guess what in our absence the Reds have taken over. There is nothing left of Hyacinthum. And it's your fault you took that away. I am barely human and you thought I could live here in peace?" She paused. "No."

"Sweetie he was doing what he thought best," said her mother placing her had on Mora's shoulder.

"You're not happy here I know it. You want more than the human world, you need more. And you settled? For what, him? The coward? You're worse that he is," she hissed. "Get off me!" She said pushing her mother. Blue light burst out of her hand sending her mother flying into the wall. Right before she hit Mora stepped forward, time crawled to a stop.

"Oh. My. God."
