My Ear
Chapter 7
I was slaughtering loyalists out the wazoo, but I wasn't always pwning the whole time.
I didn't notice the shell behind me until it was too late. It detonated, and a piece of shrapnel severed half of my right ear clean off. It hurt more than the bullet in my leg. I refused to let my tears come out. "Warriors don't cry!" I told myself. So instead of crying, I muttered a dozen obscenities. I soon spotted a mockingjay. I whistled to it, then returned to battle.
