Chapter 3
A few days later, I learned my way around. Today was my first broom lesson. I held the record for those bull simulator things where they try to throw you off. 1 minute and 34 seconds. I mean, how different could they be, really?
The instructor told us how to go, stop, exellerate, slow down, turn, pull up, and dive down.
About 10 minutes later, I was in the sky. I loved it. The wind in my face, and hair whipping at my back. I turned upside down. "Wa hooooo!"
I landed. A girl with black hair in a pixie cut, with sparkling emerald eyes and carmel skin said, "Wow! You should try out for quiddige!" "Qui-what?" She sighed. "Hey, I'm trying to be nice here. Quiddige. It's this game were you ride brooms and toss around balls and score points to your house. Anyway, you should try it." I thought about it. "Maria!" Said a nearby boy. He had black hair, teal eyes, and the same carmel skin as the girl. "You know just as well as I do that she can't! No matter how good she is. They don't take first years. Don't get her hopes up." I sighed, part disappointment, and part relief. I didn't know what I might have gotten into. But it did sound fun. Almost like soccer. Although, I suck at soccer. I was in the Slytherin common room, practicing spells. "Alohomora." I said, while making a backward S. I was pointing at a chest. I groaned. "Maybe," said a female voice. There was a girl with chest length Aqua blue hair, sea green eyes, and slightly tanned skin.
"Maybe, you should curve up after you make the backward S. You know, like we learned." I rolled my eyes and tried it. "Alohomora" I made a backwards S and curved it up at the end. It clicked and unlocked. "Thanks..." "Iveral. Abigail Iveral." "Scarlet Flintion." "So, hey" She said, sitting on the couch with me. "I... So, I kinda want to be an author when I'm not a minor. Just a statment . Anyway, sooo... I do weird thing were I just say stuff like it's in a book. My mom used to do that for practice for her writing. So, I was sorta raised to do that." I raised an eyebrow. She clicked her tung. "Just a warning. Just a warning." I half sighed half chuckled, and went to bed.
