Albus Dumbledore's tragic death was in 1997 in the Astronomy Tower by Severus Snape. Severus and Albus had planned this so Albus' death wasn't a surprise to Albus himself. He has his portrait on the walls of hogwarts and was buried in hogwarts. Dumbledore was 115 and is a half blood. Dumbledore had a great life and he did not die in vain.
