The Right to Assembly (if you are homophobic, this kinda probably will insult you)(some Lams)
Chapter 5
Sorry if you don't agree with some of the labels I am placing on characters, they mostly follow along with my ships: Hamilton x Laurens, Jefferson x Madison, Eliza x Maria Reynolds, Lafayette x Mulligan
"THIS IS OUR SCHOOL, AND THESE ARE OUR CHOICES! SEXUAL PREFERENCES HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING, EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT WE WANT ACCEPTANCE! MY NAME IS ALEXANDER HAMILTON, AND I AM PROUDLY BISEXUAL!" I shouted to the crowd of college students that assembled for our protest and they responded with a roar of agreement. Another student came up, "THOMAS JEFFERSON, GAY AND UNAFRAID TO SAY IT! EXCEPT MAYBE TO MY FATHER!" That got a laugh out of the crowd as Angelica Schuyler began to speak, "ANGELICA SCHUYLER, STRAIGHT, BUT THE PROUD SISTER OF A MAINLY LGBTQA+ SET OF SIBLINGS!" a cheer rose from the supporters. "PEGGY SCHUYLER, ASEXUAL!" "LAFAYETTE, BISEXUAL!" "JAMES MADISON, GAY!" "MARIA REYNOLDS, PANSEXUAL!" "ELIZA SCHUYLER, LESBIAN!" Then, my boyfriend shouted as he ran up to where we all were, "JOHN LAURENS, GAY, AND THE BOYFRIEND OF THIS AMAZING SPEAKER HERE! WE WANT RIGHTS! WE WANT RIGHTS! WE WANT RIGHTS!" he started a chant. I took the megaphone again and faced the university, "YOU SEE, KING?! WE DONT NEED HOMOPHOBIC ASSHOLES LIKE YOU TELLING US WHO WE CAN AND CANT LIKE AND WHAT WE CAN AND CANT DO! WE NEED A GSA! WE NEED A GSA! WE NEED A GSA!" and the angry protestors followed my movements. Suddenly, sirens could be heard and the police showed up. "COME ON, KID! WE'RE TAKING YOU TO THE STATION!" they shouted as they came up. "NO, I HAVE MY RIGHTS, THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA CLEARLY SAYS WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO ASSEMBLY!" the crowd gave a large cheer. "DONT MAKE IT HARDER ON YOURSELF, SON!" "DONT CALL ME SON!" a struggle ensued, the cops started handcuffing students and pushing them into their cruisers. In the midst of the chaos, John and I found our way to each other, "Damn, John, what mess have we gotten into now?" I said with a laugh. "I don't know, but for our rights? It was all worth it." And we kissed, we kissed long and hard until the cops made their way to us. "You're going to have to come with us, son." "CALL ME SON ONE MORE TIME!" I yelled, "WHAT, IS IT ILLEGAL TO KISS IN PUBLIC NOW?" "Fucking homophobic assholes," I heard John mutter under his breath, "I DO have my rights, you know! If we were in court right now, I would win the case! You of all people should know the first thing they look at is the Constitution!" I smirked at the cops, bad move, they turned me around roughly to put cuffs on my wrists. "HEY, IDIOTS!" qI heard John shout as he jumped on the cop putting the handcuffs on me. I groaned, "John! You're just giving them what they want! They can arrest you for assault, you know!" Oh well, at least we would be going to jail for a cause we supported, and once the word got around what the students of King's College did, you could sure as hell bet we would be out soon enough, because we fought for what was right, and that would be enough for the world to know what injustice is done to us, the people of other color, the people of other sexual preference, and, one by one, we could stop the racists, the homophobes, and the sexists from telling us what we can and can't do.
