The Whole Book (it's a one run read)

Chapter 1
Prologue:
It had all tumbled, tumbled, tumbled downhill. One minute, they were successful and happy, and now she was about to die, and he was going to be left alone. His girlfriend didn't even believe him when he told her the story. Though the boy and girl here weren't lovers, they were best friends, and losing the other hurt. It was like losing a part of yourself. By this time, they had committed the other to memory. How they walked, how they spoke, how one twirled their hair and walked on their toes, how the other favored mint green over anything, and how he loved to draw. They knew everything about the other, and losing the other was like losing your one true love. The tears were real. The pain was real. The hurt was more, though. They had promised to stay close, forever. But when one was gone… All the other could do was listen to recordings and lose a support. Therapy could help. But nobody could understand how this all came about. How their own idiocy brought them here. That was when she had an idea. “We could write a book. Thanks to you, I have about a year longer than I should. I can do the writing, and you do the editing and publish it after I die. Market it as fiction, and fantasy. But tell. Our. Story. They deserve to know, after all. They all do.” So, they thought back to the beginning of it all, and this is where we begin.

Chapter 1: Before We Truly Met
Lex was walking around her town after stopping by the blacksmith’s to see how her and her fellow ruler, MinTem’s, new weapons were coming along. They had been completed, and now all Lex had to do was surprise MinTem with their new toys. Lex saw Mintem, and behind them, a battalion of orcs.
Lex sighed, bummed that she and her fellow ruler had to fight orcs while having weapons that were about as stable as crumbly five week old biscuits.
“Darn it! In just one day it would be the anniversary of our kingdom’s first day around. Well, guess we’re gonna have to use these crummy blades. Can’t believe Minty’s actually lasted a few months, what with how aggressive they are in battle...” She grinned, and yelled to Mintem, “Orc battalion at twelve ‘o clock! Think we’ve got time?”
Mintem yelled over the mic, “How long until you start school, Cryssi?” Lex said, “About… Fifteen minutes? I got up at six, so I’m ready…” Mintem laughed.
“Fifteen! We could do this in five! Ready?” Lex grinned.
“Ready? That shouldn’t even be a question! I was born ready for this!” With eleven minutes to spare, the two slashed and stabbed their way through the army until they all were dead or had fled. Mintem wiped their sword off on their shorts, some of the sword crumbling off, as orcs have acidic blood, and grinned broadly.
“Well, that went well! See you around, Cryssi! Make sure to upload this one, it was AWESOME! Also, I think we beat our personal best.” Lex giggled a bit.
“See you, Minty! I'll let you know when the video’s up!” As Lex turned off her computer, she sighed and frowned. She wished MinTem could be by her side today, whoever the heck they may be.

Chapter 2: Closer Than You Thought
Lex was walking up the steps to outside the door, when someone tripped down the stairs. Fallen before Lex was a short person in a dark green jacket and black leggings. Although they looked oddly familiar, she couldn't really place it. Then a light went off in her head.
"Wait, that's..." She thought, a bright smile adorning her face.
The person looked up at smiled nervously.
"Ahahah, my apologi--" They stopped their apology halfway before they stared at Lex.
Curiosity and recognition was shown in their dull brown eyes hidden behind their black thick-framed glasses that had many fingerprints on them.
"You seem oddly.... f-familiar. Uhm.. Oh gosh, how do I say this.." They trail off, fiddling with their jacket sleeves with anxiety.
"Are you familiar with.. uhm.. The gamer known as Crysta--" Before they could finish, Lex cut them off.
"Yes! In fact, I am her. You too, look oddly familiar. Your voice too... Are you by any chance Mintem_Polo, one of the rulers of the kingdom Nootlandia?" Lex questions, anticipation shining brightly in her bright blue eyes.
They nodded shyly.
“So… We live… Here? Both of us? W-wow…” They trailed off. It wasn’t until long until the the duo slipped into old banter, after formal introductions.
“So… How are you, Minty? I mean… It’s you! It’s really you! My best friend of about two years now and fellow ruler of one year.” Mintem smiled.
“Well… I'm a bit shook. I mean… You. The real you! I thought you lived in like, California! You know, you have a really weird sleep schedule...” The two smiled brightly. Something sparked in Lex’s eye, but she shook her head.
“W-what was that? Did you want to say anything?” Lex shook her head.
“Nah, just had a stupid hunch. Was probably wrong too… Actually, where did you go to school for elementary school? I knew someone who looked a bit like you… Probably not you, but you never know!”
Mintem spoke softly,
“Actually, I went to Magnolia Elementary. What about you?”
Lex gasped a little, then said,
“I went there too! Awesome! I went until second grade, then transferred to an art school.” Maybe they did know each other, in another day, another time, another life.

Chapter 3: Off Schedule
Lex hurried on to her computer when she got home, and started recording a video for her YouTube channel, with 1,000 loyal subscribers.
“Hey there guys! Today we’re going a little off track, and playing… Heh, just kidding, we're playing WarWinds! Who do you think I am, a diverse let’s player? Pfft, nah! But, today is a little different, in fact… Come back in five minutes, and we will be doing an official… LIVESTREAM, FULLY IN CHARACTER, TO KICK OFF MY GAMING WEEK! Leave a like, and if we get to 667, beating last month’s record by just one, this ‘Gaming Week’ may just become a monthly thing, based on my current… Super-ultra-secret projects! Anyways, let’s get ready to warp in, with our lovely leading lady, my Avatar, or CrystalJewel! Join me in FIVE MINUTES to be able to participate in my roleplay. If you don’t own the game, then you have another option, which is commenting what I should do next! Be back soon!” Lex gave a wave to the camera through her Avatar, shut off the camera, and was uploading the video, when MinTem texted.
“Oh? Did Minty find another meme?” The text said,
"Get online, there’s a big buff problemo puff."
Lex decided to trust them, and post a quick comment and pin it about how it actually will be starting now. Lex hoped they had a very good reason for throwing off the schedule. Otherwise, Minty had to face Lex’s wrath.

Chapter 4: Ka'Shein Army Attacks
MinTem logged into the game, and found the kingdom in a panic, as unfamiliar guards marched past the nearly annihilated walls. They texted Lex,
"Get online, there’s a big buff problemo puff.." MinTem then readied their blades and turned their mic on in a panic, as Lex logged on. Lex walked to MinTem, and said,
"MINTY, I SWEAR TO ANY HOLY BEING THAT EVER MAY EXIST, YOU HAD BETTER HAVE A GOOD REASON TO THROW OFF THE STREAM SCHEDULE! By the way, I'm currently streaming, so, uh, don't use my real name. Please.” Then, she saw the walls. “What in the unholy heck happened, Minty?" MinTem sighed and responded, in the real world running a hand through their hair.
"We don't know yet. I'm going to see the leading guard. Hopefully we can come to a peaceful conclusion. I set the guards out to corner them slowly, and if they try to harm us, to attack." Lex nodded, and they walked up to the one who seemed to be the leader of this little group. Lex typed, as her mic was only turned on for MinTem.
"Why are you here?" The guard, apparently named “WarriorDean11”, with the crest of Ka'Shein city, said,
"We have come to seek out the emperor." MinTem shook their head and typed, clearly annoyed.
"My apologies, dude, but my friend and I rule this place. You need to chill. It’s a total… move to do this, you ‘flippin Cheeto Puff..." Lex laughed, remembering what happened the last time Minty had called someone a ‘flippin Cheeto Puff’.
The guard quickly replied,
"A weak little girl, and whatever the heck YOU are, rulers? Hah, in your dreams. Only a man would be able to run a kingdom like this. Lord Anya of Ka’Shien city, my home, is proof enough of that!"
MinTem furrowed their brow. This WarriorDean dude was getting on their nerves. Lex, seething, her staff gem burning red with her rage, and noticing MinTem’s apparent annoyance, seethed and typed, distressed.
"This is the kingdom of Nootlandia, listed most powerful kingdom in the region, for one year straight! We also have the best economy, lowest prisoner rate, something to be very proud of, and most effective guard system in the region! We can and will destroy you and your force without batting an eye!"
The guard gasped, and bowed down.
"I am so sorry, I had no idea that you two were that powerful!"
MinTem typed,
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Just don’t be a burnt bowl of macaroni just because you’re salty about your kingdom’s ruler. Also, next time, if you’re going to destroy a kingdom, at least seem professional about it. Maybe cast a plague spell, or kill the kingdom from the inside out. Fluffing amateurs. I’ve had to do that before, and trust me, it was NOT a pretty sight. The more gruesome, the more professional looking it is! I’d be happy to demonstrate using your little guard force."
The guards ran away with their tails between their legs. Lex and MinTem high fived in game, and Lex spoke into the mic,
"What a freak, am I right, guys? Now, to rebuilding the walls! I'll announce that everything's safe to the townsfolk." When Lex looked over to get started, she saw a flash of red eyes, and then they disappeared.

Chapter 5: Rebuilding And A Duel
Lex got up from bed. It was Saturday! She could spend the whole day eating cold pizza and playing the game! She stretched, and put on her headphones.
"WHAT’S UP, TSUNDTEM?" She ran over to MinTem, holding her staff, since her first class was a runebearer, or more well known as a mage in most MMORPG’s.. She just used skills requiring her second class more often.
Mintem blushes, embarrassed. “I told you for the last time, I am not a tsundere!” Lex smiled and stuck her tongue out playfully.
“Yes you are! You’re a little tsundere kitten!”
The two observed as the citizens around them rebuilt the walls and the few buildings that had been destroyed. They also watched as a new farm was being planted, and a school was being built. They smiled as even the newbies attempted to help. Emphasis on ‘Attempted’. Then, suddenly, a lone guard came up to MinTem. WarriorDean again.
"Surprised to see me so soon? It is no matter. I challenge you, MinTem the Brave, to a duel! Whomever may win decides the opponent’s fate, and the very fate of this kingdom!" The crowd gasps. MinTem deadpans.
"Seriously? First of all, the official title isn't needed. Most of the population of Nootlandia doesn't call me that! Heck, even Lord Anya has never called me that a day in her life, and you know how gung-ho she is about respect. Also, just yesterday you and some of your people attempted to take over this kingdom. You’re quite desperate for the Nootlandia booty, boy. Also, what did I tell you about strategically attacking?! Besides, I’m a Medic with the second class of Arcanist. I can kind of... cast and heal binds. Not to mention hit species’ weak points due to medical research. You sure, dude? I don’t want to hurt you, and I’ll heal your wounds after this, but not because I’m concerned or anything! But, if you insist, Legs, let us know when we can start.."
WarriorDean and MinTem stood, waiting. Lex, with a confident smile, knowing exactly what was coming, shouted, “BEGIN!”
Then, WarriorDean made the first move! MinTem, in the real world, let their hand glide across the keyboard, and then took a sip of their energy drink. They were tired and just wanted to get back to playing on their DS. Meanwhile, in game, Mintem’s avatar cast a binding spell, after losing one fourth of their health points. WarriorDean’s arms were successfully binded, no longer letting them use their sword. WarriorDean’s turn was a smart move, but simply defending would only lessen the health points lost. Mintem’s avatar ran towards him, medical scissors slicing at the side of the avatar’s neck. It was an instant knockout move. Thankfully, Mintem didn’t sharpen their blades today.
“Okay, okay, it seems I’ve won. I guess I’ll heal you now, you dolt.” Mintem says, while healing WarriorDean.
"But in all seriousness, you might as well give us something for winning.” Shaking their head, Mintem says.
WarriorDean sighed. "10,000,00 Jewel… Per ruler… But only to make you shut up!” Lex screamed, ecstatic.
"AWWWW YEAH! WE’RE RICH, MINTY!" MinTem grinned, but their smile faded when they faced towards WarriorDean.
"Next time, don't be. an idiot and attempt to straight-up attack, no matter how powerful you are. You’ve been playing for a decent amount of time now, as I can see, but please take care of yourself N-Not that I’m worried or anything… Idiot.." Then, MinTem walked off, Lex following close behind, teasing Minty about how they are DEFINITELY a tsundere, and MinTem objecting every word of it.
.
Chapter 6: The Stalker
As soon as MinTem got to school, they were knocked off their feet by a tackle-hug from Lex.
"Minty! YOU DID AMAZING ON SATURDAY!" MinTem blushed, and crossed their arms.,
"T-Thanks...W-Whatever though. It’s not like I’m concerned for that WarriorDean guy, but I did somewhat of a number on him... " Lex sighed, and shook her head as she helped MinTem up.
"Minty. You’re worried for him, and you’re a tsundere. They both are true, and both of them are things you deny.. Anyways, did you see that elf yesterday? It was weird, as soon as I saw her, she vanished. It's been like that for months now."
MinTem shook their head, but then their blush darkened, hearing what Lex said before mentioning the elf. "I told you, I’m not a tsundere, for the last time! But, no, I didn’t see any elven creatures. Well, except the elves that have joined our legion.” and then they laughed a bit to themselves. Lex thought for a bit, perplexed and curious to who the elf might be.
"She had… Long brown hair, red eyes, and she was kind of pale. She looked… Angry… She was just on the outskirts of the destroyed walls. Her clothes were forest green, and they had flecks and small splatters of red all over… When I saw her, some sort of fear rushed through me, and I couldn’t move. She seemed… Scared, too." MinTem’s curiosity sparked.
"Oh golly gosh darn gee, she seems pretty familiar. Hmm..."
Lex thought for a moment, and then screamed, “OH MY GOD! Fluff, fluff, fluff… Minty… That’s our old pal, the Red-Eyed Elf… If she’s watching us, that means…” she trailed off, shaking in fear, but somewhat calmed, now that she knew who was stalking her and MInty. The Red-Eyed Elf was a murderer, a savage. The legends of her say that she is the only elf in the history of the game that chose red eyes. She was fast, strong, and responsible for so many of the in-game murders. She was a part of an assassin's guild, but nobody had seen the rest of her guild for years. The rest of it had been killed a long time ago. If you got close enough to see her pupils, or her freckles, you were dead. She was beautiful, but nobody dared to go near her unless they wanted to die. Once when someone asked who she was, and she said, before killing them,
“Oh, your worst nightmare.” with a maniacal giggle. People had concluded, that while she was a possible psychopath, she was also a huge freaking nerd. Lex actually had met MinTem through an encounter with her. MinTem had been backed up against a tree, and had been caught by her. Lex was walking by, and she was only Level 10. MinTem was Level 15. Lex called out, vey idiotically, I might add,
"HEY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?”, not knowing who the Red-Eyed Elf was yet. The elf ran at that, because of her only rule about killing. No witnesses allowed. Since then, her rules about ‘No Witnesses’ had changed, but Lex and MinTem kept up with what exactly happened when she killed, to make sure that they could avoid another attack. To this day, they were some of the only people who survived her deadly attacks. MinTem grinned as they remembered that day.
"You saved my trashy existence..." MinTem said, laughing, remembering that day all too clearly.
Lex smiled brightly. "Eh, we were both newbies. Could barely take on that Level 30 dragon. If anything, I nearly got us both killed!" They laughed, until the bell rang, and they parted ways. They never noticed Lex's friend, Austine, staring at them, looking eerily like the Red-Eyed Elf.

Chapter 7:A Legendary Capture
Lex logged on, streaming, and started saying, “Hey my Meme Team, and welcome to the full roleplay livestream of the week, which is, as always, recorded for those of you nerds that can't watch. Today we’ll be-” when she saw something moving. She heard a scream.. She watched helplessly, frozen in terror, horrible memories flashing by, as the Red-Eyed Elf started to kill one of her best friends, the head guard. The chat was blowing up.
“Why won’t she do anything?” “She's dead meat!” “Is that the Red-Eyed Elf?” they said. Suddenly, her loyal guard, and trusted friend, looked her straight in the eyes and screamed,
“Do something, you absolute numbskull! In case you didn’t notice, I’m kind of dying here!” The guard then seemed to get ‘knocked out’, as in they went totally null. No screaming, nothing.
Lex snapped back into reality, and called out to MinTem. Lex then called out to the mason,
“GET HER AWAY FROM THE RED-EYED ELF, AND TO ORCHIDIS CITY’S HEALER, THEY’VE OWED US A HUGE FAVOR SINCE THE BATTLE AT LILY FIELDS, AND THIS’LL DEFINITELY COVER THEIR DEBT!”
The mason nodded quickly, and as soon as the Red-Eyed Elf saw Lex and dropped the guard, put her on a cart with a horse, and rode off, fast as he could. Together, Lex and MinTem, coming in from the sides, pinned the elf to the ground, keeping far away from her deadly rings. The rings were her weapon, and on the sides of them were buttons that made them extend into deadly blades.
The elf, agitated, hissed, “What do you want?”
Lex said, “For you to go to jail. You don't mess with our town, okay? Also, funny story, I’m livestreaming all of this, and recording. Your actions have been caught on camera, with about 8,000 people to back me up, possibly more. By the way, thanks guys! So, you’re going NOWHERE.” The elf looked at MinTem, and she realized that these were the two kids who survived. She laughed, and said sweetly,
“Wow, you two have grown some, huh? Level 280 for our classic Dumb Blonde over here, and for Gender-null over here, Level 285! Look at little old me, only Level 50! But you still remember me, and my one rule. How absolutely adorable of you! Go ahead, chain me up. I'm ready to break free.” She giggled and winked, trying to give off a sweet-as-sugar air. Lex was fuming over being called a ‘dumb blonde’, and held down the Red-Eyed Elf with all her might. Mintem just shrugged at the nickname “gender-null”. The elf flashed an evil, but almost innocent, grin.
“You ‘normal players’ killed my entire guild, bit by bit by bit! You all stole my chances to kill them myself, which I wanted to do for ever so long. I hate it when people steal. So for some payback, I’m killing all of you! I tried to recruit you two for my murdering spree, you'd have made some great assassins, even though I would have betrayed you eventually! In a year, after you became stronger, I tried to find you. But I couldn't track you. I looked into it, and leaders of kingdoms and cities can't be tracked too easily nowadays. So, eventually, I found you, and you were much more powerful than I'll ever be. So now you've captured me, and will sentence me to death, am I correct, darlings?” Lex shook her head. The Red-Eyed Elf looked shocked, and dropped her sweet, innocent charade.
“But… Don’t you think I deserve it?” Lex smiled softly.
“No. We grant you mercy. But we give you a fate much worse than death. You must work for us, as a probationary guard for a year. Which means, you will have a set of armor, but you are only allowed your weapons at certain times, and at all other times the head guard will be in possession of them. You also will sleep in a prison cell, rather than a guard room. If you earn 2,000 Jewel, or capture 250 bandits, or finish your year’s work, your debt is repaid and you may go on as you please. After all, you're good at killing, and I'd love to see you suffer by protecting instead. After all, your main goal was to kill us all. I'm just… Turning the tables a little. Understand?” The elf nodded, and with attitude, said,
“Please, call me by my in-game name, Austena. I hate when everyone calls me The Red-Eyed Elf. Also, quick note, screw you, you no good, pathetic b-” Lex covered her mouth as she started to swear violently at them.
MinTem nodded. “Alright Austena. Screw you received. You will give the rings to us for now. Also, you’re a--.” Mintem cut themselves off before they could curse like a sailor, which is what they usually do. “...Fiddly noodle stick.”
MinTem then proceeded to slip each ring off Austena’s fingers, giving off an atmosphere of boredom.. “If you’re going to kill me, make it look professional. Or your main style of killing, I don’t honestly know. You do you, girl.”
Austena growled softly. She hated this… Thing. Maybe she would try to kill them soon.

Chapter 8: A New Opportunity
Late that night, after Lex had uploaded the video and gone to bed, no editing required, someone shared the video to a friend. Then another, and another, and another. It made its way to blogs, and to forums. By the next day, some reaction channels had even found it. It went to the Trending list for gaming in about three days. By the next week, every player was buzzing about the capture of the Red-Eyed-Elf. Lex gained over 1,000 new subscribers in a night. MinTem’s smaller channel skyrocketed in subscriber amounts, gaining the same amount as Lex in a month. By the end of the month, Lex and MinTem had been invited to a convention all about WarWinds, to speak on a panel. They were asked to come in cosplay, and were told they had about a month to prepare, then, they’d be off. They were allowed to invite one person, so they chose Austine, their loyal friend and guide. She had started playing just a bit before Lex, and before her avatar got killed, she taught Lex everything she knew. Austine definitely deserved it. She insisted that they take someone else, but Lex and MinTem wouldn't take no for an answer. “I seriously think it should just be you two…” She would say, then Lex would say,
“We are basically letting you into a huge convention for free. You're coming.” There was no debating it. She was coming.

Chapter 9: Conventions, Confessions, and Cake
The scene was set. The cosplays were done. It was officially time. Lex was done up as a skinny blond girl, wearing a short top with tank top straps, and some baggy long pants, instead of an armor set as they’d only had a month’s notice. She had her hair up in a wig, making it look like she had a pixie cut, and she had her parasol that came apart to make a (fake) sword and shield, emblazoned with the crest of Nootlandia. (It also could function as an umbrella, just in case.) Her character had light purple eyes, so Lex used colored contacts.
MinTem was a kick-butt cat-person with a few tricks up their sleeves. They were wearing a set of black shorts and a blue-and yellow sweater, and held two fake, but realistic medical scissors that somehow extended to make a gigantic scissor-sword combination. Austine said she'd catch up, and that she'd be running late. They went to pick up their passes, and people stared at the two children with all access passes.
“So… Yeah, we’re MinTem and CrystalJewel… Um, surprise?” Said Lex, as MinTem was shaking too hard to say anything. The crowd started booing. They screamed profanities, and cursed them. MinTem and Lex held their heads high, as they walked to the introduction. Well, more like Lex held her head high. Mintem was too busy hyperventilating and not being able to think clearly, while Lex said calming words, trying to make them feel a bit better. The two made it to the stage, Lex nearly in tears, and MinTem extending their arm for something so they wouldn’t fall over. Lex grabbed on, and hugged them tight, then released them and grabbed onto their arm so they both had something to steady themselves. The two bravely ascended the stairs, when Austine came up to them. Or rather, the Red Eyed Elf. The two gasped, but had to go onstage, as they were invited to help open up the convention.
“Hello there everyone! I'm Lex, otherwise known as CrystalJewel, your favorite WarWinds youtuber, as shown by my subscriber count and this is my pal, MinTem, or as some of you know them, Polo. Welcome to this year’s convention. Now, we must go over just a few rules. I know, I know, boring, but it has to be done. I'll let Minty take it away from here, as my real voice probably disgusts and disturbs you.” The crowd laughed at that. MinTem started speaking.
“Welcome, everyone, to the annual WindCon, which, now that I think about it, makes it sound like we’re all freaking out over wind farms. I'm glad you all seemed to enjoy finding out that some of the most famous gamers as of now are eleven year olds, and I also hope you enjoyed throwing soda cups at us! It seemed like you were having fun. Anyways, we hope you enjoy this year's convention, and we've got a video to start it off! Goodbye, and legit, just stop throwing stuff at us already, I swear to God!” The two walked offstage, and found Austine.
“YOU WERE THE RED-EYED ELF?!” The two screamed in unison.
“Okay, okay, I understand I tried to murder you, but CHILL! Your fan panel starts in five minutes!” The two nodded and ran off, fuming.

Chapter 10: Fans Everywhere!
They had calmed down, when they saw the line. People from all over came to see them. “Oh no… I think I'm going to lose what little breakfast I have left…” Lex quietly moaned.
“Same. But, for very different reasons.” whispered MinTem. They thought for a moment and whispered in Lex’s ear.
“YOU'RE SERIOUSLY A- WHAT? WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME?” Screeched Lex. MinTem shushed her.
“Quiet, quiet! We've gotta meet the fans! We can't do that if you're screaming!” Lex nodded, shocked. They signed t-shirts and took photos, and made sure all of their fans felt special, like they were in the limelight, like it was their day to shine. After all, they deserved it. They stuck around, laughed with them, and just generally made MinTem and Lex feel special for those years that nobody knew who they were. It was their turn to finally return the favor. They got joy out of it, but sorrow too.
With every photos posted, there were a few more hating jerks. With every autograph given, there was a soda cup tossed their way. They were loved… but they were hated too. They finally got through the meetup, and went to lay down at the hotel. They stayed like that for half an hour, and then they went to meet their favorite YouTubers. Some were supportive, and everything they dreamed they'd be.
Some were acting disapproving, and mock-patronized them for how young they were, but Lex and MinTem knew they were just teasing, because that’s how they were. They grinned and ignored how tired they were, because they loved this. They loved all of it. They soaked up the energy, and bounced it back and forth, and just loved it too much to describe. Some YouTubers were taller than them, and some were shorter. (That was extremely surprising, as Lex was only 5’1”, and Minty was only 4’11”.) But they all gave the same message. “Good job, kids. Can't wait to see you at the panel tomorrow!” It seemed that they really meant it. Like they cared for those kids. That they admired MinTem and Lex like MinTem and Lex had admired them since… Well, since they’d found YouTube! It was almost too good to be true, like it was a dream they would have to wake up from someday. They were finally so happy with life, and it was too good to be true. But it was true. They were really standing there, soaking in what had to be the best day of their lives.

Chapter 11: IDK SAM HELP ME WRITE JEEBUS SO SHORT
After the panel, and some photos with their favorite YouTubers, they went home, and chatted. When they got to school, nobody really stared. But Lex was staring somewhere, or maybe even at someone. Lex thought for a moment, after snapping out of her little trance. “Hey, Minty… What do you want us to call you? For the sake of anyone who is secretly watching our lives unfold or anything, and I guess I need the name too.” MinTem smiled. “Sam, he-him pronouns. Thanks for asking, Cryssi.” Lex smiled. “No problem! I knew we'd have to figure this out eventually, so why not now?” The two smiled and went to lunch, planning for Sam’s coming out day, as he was pansexual. His mom would NOT be pleased. Sam and his mom already didn't get along, so this would be… Interesting, to say the least about this whole debacle.

Chapter 12: When it all went wrong
It was like any other day. Lex and Sam logged on, but something odd happened. Sam had been working on a VR headset adaptation of the game, and he and Lex were testing it. When they put on the headsets and logged on, they both fell unconscious. However, they saw a first-person view of the game. Lex blinked, and in a panic, tried punching the ground, and her fist actually started to bleed. Sam pinched himself, and felt a small sting. They were inside the game. Sam screeched, “OH SHIBE! THIS WASN’T SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN ANYMORE! IF THEY TAKE THE HEADSETS OFF OF US IN THE REAL WORLD, WE’LL DIE! THIS WAS THE REASON I MADE YOU SIGN A WAIVER!” Lex stared at Sam.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Sam gave Lex an ‘are you kidding me’ look.
“I did, you absolute dimwit! I even reminded you to read the fine print! FIVE TIMES IN A FLIPPIDY-FLIPPIN ROW!” Lex grinned sheepishly.
“I was making a sandwich at the time, I wasn't paying attention!” Sam sighed and shook his head. At that very moment, a guard passed by, and saw these two in mad confusion.
“Oh, hello, Lady Crystal, Lady MinTem. What's wrong?” Sam squirmed, not knowing this guard well, then looked the guard straight in the eyes, and said,
“Where is the nearest game developer? We seem to have found a glitch, and it would be a shame if the coding weren't as close to flawless as possible before the release of the VR edition, which I am helping to develop, along with CrystalJewel.” Lex looked confused, but quickly caught on, and said,
“Uh… Yeah! We did, and um… It made a purchase of a certain armor invalid…?” The guard nodded understandingly.
“Alright then. We can give you a lift to the core of the game, or to Ka’Shein city, if you’d like, my ladies!” Sam squirmed a little again at being called a lady. Everyone just kept assuming, and it was starting to tick him off a little. Sure, he may LOOK a bit feminine, but purposefully looking ‘feminine’ and ‘masculine’ was just weird to him. Lex growled.
“No thanks. Also, SIR Mintem is a HE.” The guard looked ashamed. “Sorry, sir and madam!” Sam sighed.
“It's fine, carry on with your duties. Also, please don't do it again. Spread it though Nootlandia, the state, the entire region if you will.” The guard saluted, and rode off. Sam sighed heavily. Lex frowned.
“I know, I know. Hey, at least someone can tell everyone else!” Sam grinned a little.
“You're right, Cryssi! How can I be the best ruler I can be moping around like this? I can't! Besides, now Austena can stop calling me Gender-null...” Lex gave a wide smile. “Right! If you're so sad, you won't be able to help your people boost morale!” Sam laughed.
“It does help that I have a talent for faking a winning smile!” They gave banter like this all the way to Ka’Shien city, where they knew someone that could help them out.

Chapter 13: WarriorDean Again
Sam called out to the guards at the gates. “It’s Mintem and CrystalJewel! We need to see Lord WarriorDean! It’s important buisness, from Nootlandia!” The guards nodded, and took them inside Ka’Shien city. The two gasped in awe. The city had an air of wonder about it. You could smell spices and the mist in the early morning air, and as you walked through town square, you sensed what felt like magic. There were bards on the streets, playing songs with the elves and nymphs who sang to make the trees grow, and there were market stalls as far as the eye can see. They sold bread and jewelry, and plenty of healing potions. Sam and Lex were dazzled at the sights. They saw flower gardens and towering buildings made of limestone. The last time they had been here, it was under the rule of Lord Anya, a grouchy old woman who just lost her one in-game life about a month ago, due to an assassination attempt, and the place was crumbling and miserable. Now it was a lively, bustling city that reflected happiness! WarriorDean was a great leader, who asked for Sam and Lex’s help in all this. This was the first time they saw it all completed. It was gorgeous. WarriorDean was strolling along the street, when Lex and Sam ran straight towards him. “DEAN! IT’S US!” Dean grinned at them.
“Well, well, well, look what the Wyvern dragged in. How are you guys?” Sam grinned
“Great. But, we have important business to do here. Anywhere private to talk?” Dean nodded grimly.
“Yes. I assume that the headset didn’t work?” Lex sighed.
“No, and now we’re trapped here. If anyone takes off the VRs, we die. Or at least, go into an intensely painful coma, thanks to the idiot over next to me.” Sam made a pouty face.
“Well YOU never listened to the-” Lex cut him off suddenly.
“IT’S 12 PM IN THE REAL WORLD ON A WEEKEND! I’M LATE TO UPLOAD AND RECORD! I CAN’T GET OUT OF HERE, AND-” Sam knocked her out, just to make her shut up for a bit. They could deal with that later. Suddenly, Lex woke up in the real world. She went over to her computer, and saw her avatar on-screen. Sam and Dean were frantically poking her. Lex put on her headphones, and yelled to Sam.
“Faint! Get knocked out! That’ll let you out, so you can take off the headset!” Sam nodded, turned to Dean, and after a few seconds of talking, Dean knocked Sam out! Sam woke up in his home, feeling incredibly dizzy, with a wicked headache. He took off the VR console, and went over to his computer. He put on his headphones, and spoke to Lex, who was eager to ask,
“What in the world did we just do?” Sam responded,
“We broke the barrier between fiction and reality, enabling us to go inside the game and its code if we wish, which was previously impossible. Also, I ate a cheese sandwich in-game, and now I'm not hungry.” Lex was posting a quick video, apologising for the delays and directing her subscribers to Sam’s new channel for more content, while responding with,
“Well, time to eat up! Also, how did it taste?” Sam wasn’t able to answer, as Lex was already back in the game. Sam screamed over the mic,
“LEX, WAIT! THE LINK ISN’T STABLE! STO-” Lex blinked, and she was back. She took in the air, but stopped. She didn’t feel a single tug or hold on the real world. Before, she had felt a small tug, like on a rope to the real world. That’s what made her able to escape. Instead, there was no tug now. Just free air. Dangerous air, where every second counted. Back at her home, there was a flash of light from the VR, and smoke puffing out. A figure looking like her, but not her, took off the VR, and stretched her legs. In a voice belonging to a royal, a monarch, a queen, a warrior, she heard,
“It’s so great… To finally be free. I was wondering when you’d be stupid enough to do it twice in a row. No offense to you, of course, my dearest Creator.” Lex, stuck in her own computer, cowered in fear.
“W-who ARE you?” While flexing her fingers, the stranger replied. “CrystalJewel, Cryssi, or, more formally… Your Avatar.”
