Chapter 2
Hogwarts is also different than regular schools in many ways. First, instead of your regular school sports they play quidditch. Quidditch is played with four balls, the quaffle which is tossed around by chasers to score goals each worth ten points, the two bludgers which zoom around hitting players (it is the beaters job to keep these balls away from their teammates) and finally, the golden snitch, this ball is very small and fast, it is the seeker’s job to catch the snitch, when the snitch is caught the team whose seeker catches it is awarded 150 points and the game is over. There is an extremely long backstory to the sport but I find no need to go on any longer, if you want to learn more you can check out Quidditch Through the Ages by Kennilworthy Whisp.
Another difference is the houses. There are four houses Gryffindor which prizes bravery, Hufflepuf which prizes kindness, Slytherin which prizes determination and finally, Ravenclaw which prizes wit. Also each house can win or lose house points from professors. At the end of the term the house that has the most points receives the house cup and gets a feast in their honor.
There are seven years in Hogwarts and each gets progressively harder. As you get older you will take O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.s which determines what jobs you can aptly for.
