The underground city
Chapter 2
Kabel fell out of his chair in surprise, landing on his face. "Bloody heathens..." he pushed himself up and crawled to his chair, his legs uselessly dragging behind him. "Yknow what? Maybe I would like these things gone..." he said as he hefted himself onto the chair. There was a hole nearby, and he peered down it. That must've been where Wildfire had gone. He leaned forward more to get a better look, then fell in, getting wedged in the entrance between his useless legs and the rim. "Em... halp"
Wildfire was cooking something when Fury, a flame(color) wolf came dashing in and yapped about something blocking the Sun-dog. she took off the kettle and went to check it out "well well well. what do we have here! a rabbit stuck in a hole? a badger trying to get in? or an unwanted visitor who just sits on a stone chair all day looking at his useless legs?" her head popped up out of a side hole and says in a funny voice "and it's curtain number 3!! congrats sir!! you've won the prize!!! what is the prize you ask? well its a free pass to get out of the jam you got yourself in!" she laughed
Kabel jumped at the sound, but couldn't exactly do much in the ways of surprised reactions, seeing as he was wedged in a hole. "Ey, it was just today that I did that, and I hardly ever looked at them. I fell from the sky, was tortured by a psycho, somehow managed to break and permanently damage both legs, as well as get lodged in a hole all in the same day. I need time to figure out what the heck has gone on, aight?" He stopped talking for a second. "Though as long as you're still here... or I hope you are... could ya help me get outta this? I don't want Pyro or someone chancing on me in this state and suddenly realize torture is an entertaining hobby. Though she probly already does."
"you won't believe half of what she does. and yes i will help you, after all you did just win a free pass!" she laughed again and started to pull on his arms "Fury! can you push from up there? thanks!" after a few pushes they went tumbling down the hole Wildfire on the bottom and Fury on the top "ow! ugh why do you weigh so much?!?!"
Kabel tumbled down somewhere in the dark, close tunnels. "Oof... thanks..." he pushed himself up onto his elbows and tried to see in the darkness. "So... this isn't where you live, hm? ...cozy." He flipped himself over with a great deal of effort, and lied on his back. "So then, am I like, not allowed down here, or not allowed out, or something, or what? I don't want to start a civil war, too."
getting up "Fury can you tell the fireflies to light the lamps please?" when the room lit up with a warm glow "ahh that's much better, now, follow me." she started to walk down a passage that smelled of food
Kabel reached his mind out to the stone chair, and grinned when a river of grey rock slithered down the hole. So, so many new tricks! He formed it into crutches for himself, and hobbled down the tunnels as fast as he could, trying to keep up with Wildfire, and trying not to be distracted by the fireflies. When he realized he was getting really far behind, he shambled as fast as he could, eventually catching up. "So, you guys just, like, have this... just a giant underground city, or something?" he asked, looking down the side passages. "And the Kal haven't found you yet?"
"yes and no. yes we have an underground city, but the Kal haven't found us yet, haven't found anyone yet is b/c the forest and bombardier's won't let them land. Winter is one of the assassins. i'm a bombardier. many others work with us and you will be expected to do the same. Fury! send a message through the tunnels, we got a new recruit." the little wolf dashed off
"So, how do I do that? Intimidate them with my frightening face and smackem with my crutches?" He laughed a bit to himself. "Actually can I do that if the occasion arises? I don't think under normal circumstances that it would do much of anything. Ooh! I could throw rocks at them and like... do the thing I did with the wolf and make 'em hit themselves an stuff!" He looked down a tunnel, which seemed much bigger than this one. Firefly-lamps lit it up all down the sides, and he could see yet more corridors stretching off in every direction, lit up like some Stygian funeral-path. "Dang..."
"no. definitely don't do any of that. they will throw someone at you and you fight them. no crutches, no weapons, just powers. careful though. there's a guy who has taken out everybody who had the half a brain to challenge him. thank god he never defeated me! any way ya depending how you handle the situation is where you'll be placed. to me you seem like a frontal assault. we've haven't had one in a long time. keep in mind there's a reason to that. try and do some sneaky stuff." she glanced over her shoulder at him "come on, we're nearly there. oh and btw i'm one of the judges, but that doesn't mean you can't fight me. just be thankful that Winter's gone! one more thing. there's this guy who defeated everyone who challenges him. he's only lost one match. that's one out of who knows how many." they entered a cavern filled with people like them and animals, there was a salty tang in the air and something sticky on the ground "good luck Kaleb!" she went and joined some others in a booth that was raised above the other seats. she whispered something to them and then stood up and shouted "welcome Outsiders!..." a cheer went up "... today someone is joining us. Kabel Durra, please step forward. you will be fighting..." she glanced at the others and they nodded, took a deep breath and sighed "... you will be fighting Wildest Fires of the Drought." she jumped down from her spot and joined him in the ring "may be best one win." a badger stepped forward "alrighty! rules, no weapons except for elementals, no throwing audience members, no threatening the Console, no killing, maiming is allowed." he scratched his head "am i forgetting something? oh ya! no helpers." he glared at Kabel and took away his crutches. Wildfire smacked her forehead and walked over to the badger "oh! umm ok then. sorry about that" he walked back over and handed the crutches back to him and stomped off muttering to himself "Begin!" he shouted and Wildfire lit herself on fire then started to circle him
"its Kabel..." he muttered to himself as they entered an enormous subterranean amphitheater, but Wildfire had already leaped-- how the heck did she do that???-- onto the counsel bench. next thing he knew, he was in the ring with a badger with the most obnoxious voice. then he was flat on his face being he TOOK HIS BLOODY CRUTCHES. "bloody heathen..." he muttered at the badger. but hedidn't have time to contemplate the best way to skin the beast. Kabel propped himself up on his crutches and watched as Wildfire, who now constituted a pillar of flame, slowly walked around him. he stared at her, trying to figure out how the heck he would be able to beat something that could kill him just by getting too close. suddenly he found Wildfire charging him, and he liquified his crutches, causing him to drop and roll. the crutches came back, but instead of propped sticks, he now held a hammer. Wildfire rushed him again and he closed his eyes as he blindly slammed the hammer upwards.
when Wildfire had charged him she thought she had won, then Kabel made a hammer and swung it as her blindly "gah, god." she caught it and melted part of it and smiled " didn't they give you some sort of training at Eden or did you get evicted right away?" she aimed a round house kick at his torso
Kabel fell backwards, a wall of stone-- with a bizarre, smiling face because he could-- shooting up to meet the roundhouse kick before it got to him. Instead of it working, however, Wildfire's leg simply melted right through it. "Stupid... friggin... bloody..." he rolled out of the way again, deeming crutches, while more maneuverable, were likely going to get himself killed. Then he got an idea. He looked up and shot another wall of stone to catch Wildfire's arms and legs to give him more time, then grew a thick block of stone around him, making sure to keep a hole to breath, covering his entire body with smooth stone, which lifted him into a standing position. He could hear his block melting, which, in all other scenarios, would be truly frightening. But he had a plan. The block exploded, all the walls save the one flung at Wildfire converging into tendrils, and coming back to Kabel, who was standing in a coat of armor made of the stone. He couldn't feel his legs, but the stone could move for him. The tendrils moved over his arms, forming into undulating spheres of shiny grey basically-liquid. He stretched his arms out forward, and the stone extended into a blunt spear while the stone on his head molded over his face into a protective mask. Then he charged forward at Wildfire, noticing but trying to ignore just how weird movement without leg control was.
"holy shot. god this is the reason why i hate your types." looking around then getting an idea "hey! catch me if ya can!!" she started to run towards the rim of the arena looking behind her to make sure he was following. when she reached the wall she glanced back and was suprised that he had caught up to her 'ok plan a won't work so time for plan b' she let of core heat and aimed it at the legs and grinned wildly as they began to melt; still dodging blows from the arms
"MMF!!!" the mask melted away, as did his spear and legs. "GAH!" he breathed heavily, trying to quench the pain roaring up his legs. funny how even when he couldnt move them, pain seemed to be allowed right in. he fell to the ground, writhing, and then decided he would end the pain right there. he made a little bar in front of his mouth and bit down, then made a small, guillotine-like blade from the stone, and dropped it through his legs. he screamed in pain, tears coming full force. but the pain subsided quickly, and he discarded the legs, which he found a bit morbid. then he replaced them with stone legs, pretty much doing the same thing as before. he stood up, a shield forming on one arm and a massive, undulating blade in the other. he melted the mask for a second, shouting "IS THAT ALL YOU GOT? YOU CAN BLAST EVERY ONE OF MY LIMBS OFF, ILL STILL HOP RIGHT BACK UP! HAHAHAHA!!!" the mask formed over his mouth and nose, and then slits went over his eyes for protection. and because it made him feel so much cooler than he actually was. blocking another blast with a fist that extended from the shield, he ran forward again, shoved the blade into the ground which catapulted him into the air, then came slamming down on a thick block of stone. he couldnt see below him, but he relied on the sheer size and speed of the block to do the breaking for him. hedidn't like hurting this person, but if hedidn't, he actually could lose his other limbs, and hedidn't want that
Wildfire dodged down the last minute and watched as he scraped and clawed at the stone then called up "do you want me to kill you? god! either submit or kill! that's the way it is here. this is the reason i hate you types. you guys are bone headed and narrow minded" she lept behind him and slowly burned a hole in his back plate then grabbed his shirt and tried to pull him out of the suit
"Not narrow-minded, just thick-skulled!!! AHAHA!!!" He shot fists out of the shoulder pads, slamming into Wildfire and sending her flying. The block melted and then shot Kabel up, landing nimbly on the other side of the arena, amidst a liquid crater of rock. "Hey ya wanna see another trick?" He called, raising the crater into an arch above his head. "Watch this!!!" He moved his hands from their raised position down, making the arch collapse in front of him and spread into numerous pools of stone, which turned into rocks that rolled into a pile. The pile started to shake, and then unfold, revealing a massive golem-like thing that towered into the vaulted room of the arena. "At-da!!! Please, hold your applause." A pool of stone that hadn't gone to the giant moved around him, then spat him upwards onto the golem's shoulder. "BUT IM NOT DONE YET!!!" He yelled.
when he had shot her across the ring he knocked the wind out of her. standing up shakily and gripping the wall her anger turned to hatred. melting the earth beneath her she disappeared under and hardened it above her she ran and ran underground to the center of the ring "THAT'S IT!" she melted the earth in the ring into a puddle "I AM SICK AND TIRED OF YOU." lighting herself on fire she made the molten rock pin him to the sides and harden, the lava frothing and bubbling under him "now. i am… going to end this." a wave of lava raised up behind her
Kabel's eyes widened as he watched the lava bust through his golem without breaking the slightest, with a rather irate-looking what-once-was Wildfire now-is-some-demon-thing at its helm with bloodlust in their eyes. "well, uh... um... funny story..." he wriggled in the pikes, trying to think his way out of this. "well um... thing is... i was never quite good at deescalating conflicts..." he shot himself into the air with the stone pikes, crashing into the ceiling and sticking their, watching as the wave crashed into his former location. "ooh wee... um... yeah... that happened..." he mumbled to himself. then Wildfire looked at him. "oh, krahp." he shot himself from the ceiling, the lava scraping his stone feet as he collided into the other side of the arena. "oy, whatever happened to "no killing?" he shouted. he was greeted with another wave of lava and a scream of frustration. "aight... looks like that aint flyin." he threw himself into the ceiling again, running across it and dodging smoldering balls of magma. "geez! someone needs a nap... remind me never to tick you off again."
"i'm willing to sacrifice my dessert for a week." sent another wave as a whistle blew, turning wide eyed the lava solidified and she bowed her head to the elder that had blown the whistle.
Kabel stopped, hearing the whistle, and looked around. underneath was an enormous stone platform, blocking everything. "...dang." that thing was a lava wave it seemed. "...dang dang." he moved it out of the way, depositing it as an upside-down snowman with him, and looked around. everyone who hadnt left the basically decimated arena was bowing, including a still smoldering Wildfire. the were all facing an immensely old and frail creature... or at least, thats what it looked like. "waht?"
"bow you dunder brain." she hissed back at him. the elder nodded in acknowledgement and they got up it said in a frail voice "Kabel Durra has fought bravely against Wildest Fires, and will be a good asset for our burrow." pausing he turned toward Wildfire "Wildest Fires, will you mentor Kabel Durra of the Rock and meld him to our ways?" Wildfire looked stunned "y-yes Elder Crystal" she bowed her head Elder Crystal turned back towards the people in the arena "Kabel Durra of the Rock will be mentored by Wildfire. that is all" Elder Crystal left and the buzz of talk followed. Wildfire walked up to Kabel "dude, let's get you to the infirmary to see about your legs" pauses "you did well. and Elder Crystal gave you your name! do you know how big that is? he hasn't given anybody a name since Ebony. that means you will be studying under him, that is when your not training brutally or getting lectured." smiles
Kabel jumped down from the ceiling, landing in a puddle of liquid stone in a bowing position. before he knew it, the creature was gone. Kabel's brain was too frazzled with all that had happened to hear what he had said. he stood up and looked at Wildfire, the stone armor melting off him and into the ground, except for around his legs. a huge hole was burned into the back of his shirt, and little pieces here and there were singed as well. "now aint that wonderful..." he said. he turned back to Wildfire. "wait, what do you mean he gave me a name? Kabel Durra has been my name since... well as far as i know, since i was born. or is it Rock now?" he looked at Elder Crystal walking away. "hm."
"no... when an elder gives you a name, it's an extension. used for awards and combat missions. mine is Wildest Fire of the Drought. ya think i'd use that all the time?" laughs "haha come on. let's get you legs taken care of, and i'll get some dinner for us before everyone takes all the good stuff" herds him down an extension tunnel "oh. and i still have to give my report. oh well. that can wait. rest up, you training begins tomorrow" stops at an archway "nurse! this is Kabel, our newest recruit"
"I could really use something to eat." Kabel sat down on the bed, which was less than ideal, but it'd do. He realized he hadn't eaten since before he was rocketed from the Eden. Fun. "I guess I'll see you at the training tomorrow? Not sure how this stuff works. Oh, and nice fighting out there. Remind me never to get you more than 'slightly ticked'. I don't want to lose any more of my body than I already have." He looked down at the leg-shaped stone at his knees, realizing he never picked his actual legs up from wherever he threw them in the arena. It was kind of disturbing. Then again, though, they were probly burned up from all the lava.
"haha. ya you'll be staying in the infirmary for a few days or whenever your legs heal up. well, i'm off! oh and nurse Kali? his legs got junked up by thorns and Pyromancy." the nurse nodded and scurried off to get some stuff "see you later, hope you're hungry." dashes off
"fare thee well." he looked down at his legs and melted the stone into a ball that sat in his hand. when the stone pulled away from his legs, there was nothing there except the gruesome, bloody, jagged stumps from where he chopped them off in the fight. "sometimes i wonder what im smoking when i make these sorts of decisions..." the ball moved up his arm and down to his knees, becoming legs again. he stood up and looked out the doorway, gazing down both halls, holding the doorway for support "...dang."
Wildfire comes back a few minutes later "hey! they ran out of oat-squeal but i got some despair berry tarts and some neverwood peppermint bark. don't worry, they are better than they sound." bites into a despair berry tart 'no! you're making a mistake!' it despaired "oh hush up, you're delicious." eats the rest "hey nerws, hows awe hib webs?" swallows "oops sorry i meant how are his legs? will he be alright for training tomorrow? Elder Crystal wants him to start right away"
Kabel cocked an eyebrow. "What the actual, everloving bloody heck" he looked at the nurse who was scurrying around his legs, and tried to shoo her away. "I'm fine. I survived about ten minutes against you ticked off. I'm sure I can manage." He goes back in and sits down. "I mean... that dudes like a hundred years old. Unless he has like some ultimatum power, or ultimate weapon, or... what other words start with "ultim"? Whatever. Anyways, I'm sure there isn't much that can be harder than Whatever the heck you were out there."
"heh, Kabel, i'm a junior fire mage. Elder Crystal is the highest rank of earth mage, Elder Enigma is the highest fire mage, Elder Typhon is the highest wind mage and Elder Tide is the water mage. i study under Elder Enigma to become the next elder of fire. and Elder Crystal has ultimate knowledge, such as the elixir of life. no one knows how old he is. and to gain status here ya gotta fight. if you go against another fire mage or earth mage then you're in trouble. you need your legs back." looks at him "ok? ok. now eat up, and sleep well. you start tomorrow." leaves the room
"Fun." He crossed his stone legs one over the other and picked up the food that Wildfire had left him. Eying it suspiciously, he took a bite of the despair tart, which screamed, causing him to shriek embarrassingly and fall over, hitting his head on the floor. "You know what!? I hate you too." He shoved the rest into his mouth and chewed it spitefully. It actually wasn't that bad. It was just obnoxious. He righted himself on the bed, and ate the rest of the food. Then he stood up and sat cross-legged in the doorway, leaning against the frame, staring down the halls again. It was starting to get a little busier. Or maybe he just noticed the activity more. He didn't know.
when Wildfire sat down on her bed she turned to the girl beside her "hey Ivory, you might finally have a m8 that will actually survive the training." the girl just laughed "we'll see. we'll see."
Something screamed in his ear, and Kabel shot up, hitting the doorway's suddenly lower arch, falling to the ground, and basically playing human pinball with the doorway. There was an obnoxious squawking bird just outside the room, and it just would not stop. "SHUT UP OR ILL SKIN YA AND MAKE A FEATHER CROWN OUTTA YA!!!" The bird stopped squawking, glared at Kabel, and flew off, squawking at a slightly less volume. "Uggghhh..." He got up and stretched, walking to the corridor. He guessed the bird was the signal to get wherever he was supposed to go. But he had no clue where to go, and so stood there, staring dumbly down the corridor in each direction.
Matoah woke them up as usual and Wildfire threw a flame at him as the bird flew off. she got up along with all the other people in her sector "Rise and Shine everybody! breakfast in an hour." Ivory called from the tower, up with the sun. as always. she got ready and headed towards the meeting hall "Hey! Kabel! come on!" Wildfire shouted when she saw him "Breakfast! i'll show you around! let's go we'll be late!" she smiled and started to jog down a large hallway with all the other people
Kabel whipped around at the sound as Wildfire's voice, pointing down the hall. "Oy! Wait up! Don't leave me here!!" He sprinted down the hallway, and nearly passed her when he realized she was the only thing standing between him and the insanity that comes with being lost in a massive underground catacombs community.
"hehe slow down! ya gonna crash into somebody." laughs and smiles "so ya, after we eat, as you mentor i get to show you around. you also have a class mate." she pointed towards a girl "that's ivory. when you train, you train against each other. she is like a really powerful earth mage." pauses to think and starts heading toward a line growing longer by the second "come on. so starting today you're gonna be a level one junior fire mage. ivory's a level 10 junior earth mage, so until you reach lvl 8." grabs a tray and takes something that looks like oatmeal
"why fire, though? isnt stone by definition nonflammable?" he took a tray and a pile of the oatmeal stuff, eyeing it suspiciously. he looked up over towards where Wildfire had pointed, and spotted a smallish girl standing in the corner. "no offense, but she doesnt really look the fighting type" he said, looking back at Wildfire. "...well, then again, neither do i..." he pushed up his glasses, which he noticed now lack a lens, and the left one was cracked. "well. that happened, apparently."
looks up " she can't challenge you, nor you her. and no. Ivory doesn't look like the fighting type. people assume she's Sap. who's a type of earth mage. don't be fooled, 3 yrs and she's still a lvl junior forest earht." laughs and nods her head towards another big burly girl and grabs some more food "since you haven't been assigned a subgroup, you're gonna have to sit with me." starts heading over to a corner marked with red
Timpor looked at the large girl, and his eyes grew wide. "Please tell me she's not like one of those people who would tear your throat out if you looked at the movie wrong..." currently she seemed to be staring someone down, a kid who looked like you could break their arm if you so much as touched it. He followed Wildfire over to the table, and sat down at the corner, trying to avoid the weird stares.
Kirito groggily woke up. He was tired, hot, sweaty, and wished for his old life before everything became like this and made him into a test subject like he was some rat in an experiment. Kirito looked around before remembering where he was. he had found a hole in the ground in a forest which turned into a tunnel and opened up to reveal a city. He found the closest building and snuck in there, found an empty room with a bed and slept there for the night. Kirito grabbed his bag and quietly walked through the door, hoping no one would notice but it was a 16% chance of that.
"Sap? nah, oh hey, there's Oak. the guy she's trying to stare down. he's a level 10 junior, despite his size." finishes and puts tray on a rack in a corner "so ya, i would like to start your tour as soon as possible so we aren't late for class."
"Sure" he said, in between mouthfuls. He looked down one of the corridors and spotted someone trying to sneak around and failing horribly. "Ey who dat" he said, pointing with his spoon. "An wha ee doin?" He swallowed, finishing up the stuff, and got up. He dropped the tray off and then stood by Wildfire at the table, and pointed at the figure, who evidently saw him and was running down the corridor. "Uh... is he like... not supposed to be here or something?"
Great, just darn old bloody great." Lindo muttered to himself and sprinted down the corridor. Of course someone saw him, why wouldn't they see him, oh I don't know, a guy who had silvery gray hair, and no one had that has their hair color, and was wearing a red trench coat, yep, there was totally no way they would notice someone like that sneak by. Lindo thought to himself as he ran past a door before he noticed that multiple someones were following him
"huh? oh i haven't seen him here before," starts running after him "hey!" stops by Sap and Oak "hey guys, get the trackers, someone snuck in last night." oak and sap run off somewhere "kabel come on! we gotta catch up" bursts into the hallway and blocks the boy's path with a wall of fire
"Aight!" He follows her into the corridor and sees the firewall (lol), and the kid in front of it. He looked confused, but soon shot down a different path. Kabel turned sharply and darted down the hallway, twisting and turning after the person. "Oy! My gosh... how... *huff* how the heck... I'm... gotcha!" He saw they were running in a circle and so went down one of the corridors, and leapt out at him, tackling them to the ground. They were a lot larger than the tunnel made them look, and he hoped he could keep him down. It was hard. Finally he just decided to thicken his stone legs and sit on them to make sure they stayed down. "I gotcha, boyo." He said. "Oy! Wildfire! I got the dude!" He turned back to the kid he was sitting on, who kept hitting him. "Dude I have rock wrapped around me, ya dingus," he said. "...Oy, what's your name anyways?"
Kirito was really annoyed. First fire girl and now this dude, what's next? A guy who melts into liquid? What was worse that this weird dude was sitting on him, and he was starting to get on Kirito's nerves. Kirito resulted to violence and started to hit and punch they guy who was on him. The guy asked him his name but Kirito ignored him and instead, twisted around and finally was able to roll out from under the big brute. Kirito told up and kept his eyes on the guy who had been holding him down he noticed that multiple people were almost near them.Kirito sighed and then looked for an escape route, and it seems that something was finally going toward his favor.Kirito looked down at the guy who was getting up."It's been a nice time meeting you and all, but I really must be going"he said and then saluting to him before running back a couple feet before bursting into a run and ran straight into a window and once he hit the ground he bolted, running past people on the streets.
"ok, hey! ya dingdong. ya let him escape!" mutters "never send a guy to do a girl's job." runs after him and jumps out the window "SAP! GET THE FLYERS TOO! WE CAN'T LET HIM GET AWAY! GET EVERYBODY ON THE MOVE!!" bolts after the boy's figure in the crowd and sets her body on fire to get people to move out of the way
"Bloody friggin..." that guy was so much larger than him. why was it that everyone was so tall??? Kabel ran to the window, and looked down, watching Wildfire's burning body run after the large kid. he looked up at the ceiling, and then down to the floor, where spires of liquid stone were starting to sprout up to meet him. he smiled. "and this time, there won't be any fireballs chasing after me." he jumped from the window, his stone legs merging with the spires. the spires moved up the walls and o
onto the ceiling before shrinking and becoming a lot less bulky (though much more stylish) armor as before. he started running across the ceiling, making sure he knew where Wildfire and the other guy were. it wasnt too hard to see Wilfire, but the kid... he seemed to almost vanish entirely on the street. below him he could see people and animals crowding around, pointing at the chase. or at least some. most just disregarded it, which he guessed made sense. he kept r
running, and somehow managed to actually gain a bit on the two. he shoved his arm forward and a wall of stone with a really dumb face on it shot up in front of the kid, blocking the street and corridors. then he shot up two more walls, one on each side of him, each with another dumb face. just to be safe he extended them into a dome, too. hopefully hedidn't have some weird shenanigans to get out of that. "hah! scrubbed!" he shouted, jumping down from the ceiling and landing in a crater of liquid stone
Kirito was really flat out annoyed and a bit tired of running from these people. First their was this girl who can turn on fire, which doesn't obey the laws of phsicics, second, there's a boy who shoots out stone, or something like that. Kirito looked at the dome around him. He really wanted to get out and he could easily use is powers to do so but in order to do that, everyone would know what he was and what he could do. Kirito then smiled before falling to the ground, his eyes closed.
Wildfire nearly caught up to the kid when Kabel shot the stone walls up "KABEL! ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME! GOD!!" she stopped in front of him puzzled at why the boy was smiling and he fell to the ground "uhh, Kabel. can you run back to the infirmary and get one of the nurses, i'm not sure what happened. i'm gonna com Winter and try to get her back here. hmm interesting, he has Ley Veins. ok, ya get Sap and Oak too, oh and elder wood. she's gonna be helpful"
"Aye, I can do." He walked over to wear Wildfire was, the armor melting into the ground. "So what's this boyo's power, anyways? Or is he like me and doesn't know how yet?" (Oh and yes that's right :P) he didn't like the idea of leaving this kid out here with Wildfire. He wasn't worried that Wildfire couldn't defend herself, because he knew if she really wanted to she could kill the guy, but he was more worried about what the guy could do. What if he was a living nuke? Or a biobomb? Or a Portalmasterdudething? Besides, this guy was a crafty son of a gun. He could be hiding anything in that weird trench coat of his. He nodded though, and started to walk back to the main part of the... city? Complex? He didn't know. "I'll go get them, yes."
Just as the boy started to walk away, Kirito launched into his attack, swiping his leg so that it hit the girl's leg, causing the girl to fall in the process.Kirito then steadily got up. His eyes focusing on everything around him.He immediately noticed that there was a building with glass windows to his right, which could cause a great distraction if it were to break all of the sudden not to mention all the people who would get hurt. But then again, they would realize what types of stuff he could
do. Kirito sighed and muttered under his breath "It's better getting out of here alive than staying." Smoke started to come off his, swirling around his, and it wasn't too long that he was on fire. (His fire is blue, not the regular color red and orange) He then leaped toward the building, and touched one of the windows, causing it to shatter and make a chain, with windows breaking everywhere. Kirito then ran the way he had entered, there was no way he was going to stay around and get caught.
Wildfire jumped back when the boy sprung to life "hey! HEY!! god. this is why i hate boys, TIMPOR GET BACK TO BASE NOW!! GET EVERYONE ON AND SHUT THE GATES NOW OR I'LL SKIN YOU MYSELF!!!" she stopped and watched the glass break "god, fire and whatever that was? ok... not what i had expected." started to dash after the boy "KABEL BASE GATES NOW!!"
"and im outta here, byos!" Kabel started frantically running up the wall and through the window, back to the thing. hedidn't like leaving them again, but he left a little something: a 3-ft-tall stone golem with yet another poorly drawn face to annoy the guy. "oy! yall gotta close the gates or somethin! yall gotta do it NOW!!!" he ran around shouting it, feeling dumb, but he was a little panicked.
Kirito noticed then shouting with panic in their voices. That wasn't his problem but he couldn't help but grin at that he had caused. Sure he didn't want to be mean but when you needed to escape from other people, you tended to cause a bunch of panic along the way. Kirito then noticed huge metal gates in front of him, about 20 meters away. "Great, just great." He muttered and ran faster than before. He had a feeling if he didn't escape now, he would then be trapped for a long time.
Kabel had crossed the entire city in his frantic Paul Revering, and had got swept up in a crowd that took him to, at least from what he gathered were, the gates. the kid was running full force at them when the crowd flooded into the street. "oy! stay awhile!" Kabel shouted, and shot an arm of stone at the kid, who propmptly smashed through it. "oh, if you insist." he jumped up in a flurry of liquid stone, and roundhouse kicked him down the road. "always wanted to do that in this."
Kirito ignored the guy and ran right through, smashing the stone that oddly enough barely hurt him. (Well, I guess that's because he's like a monster who never gets hurt XD) Kirito didn't notice when the dude roundhouse kicked him and causing him to fly down the street. He immediately got up, an annoyed look spreading across his face. "Why do you guys gotta be so damn annoying."
"oh, come on!" this guy was getting a bit troublesome. he kept hammering him with boulders and sledgehammers and eventually just smashed him into the ceiling ith a plateau of solid rock, but nothing worked it seemed. for right now he was trapped against the ceiling, but he knew somehow he would survive and get out of that one too.
Kirito just kept dogging and breaking through the stone boulders and sledgehammers but after awhile he was getting bored. He was caught off guard when he was trapped on the ceiling but he simply just burned through it by turn one of his hands on fire. "Seriously," He said while landing on the ground as easy as like he was breathing "That's all you have?"
Wildfire stepped into the ring"boys you're both pretty can we get down to business now? listen, whatever your name is. how did you get in here?"
"Oh, for the sake of all that is good, just DIE! ...please?" He shot practically the whole street into the ceiling, barely missing Wildfire "oops! Sorry mate!" The kid burned right through the side of the column, prompting Kabel to throw a punch with an enormous stone fist to prevent him from getting to his face. "I don't think he really wants to talk, Fire. Is it ok if I call you that? Anyways, he seems pretty adamant about getting out. Or that may just be due to me punching him a lot." He had
To shout to make sure that Wildfire heard him, considering he was pretty high in the air, almost at the ceiling, and she several yards in front of him on the ground.
"ACK! GOD KABEL ARE YA TRYING TO KILL ME!!!! OAK! IVY! GET THE OTHERS DOWN HERE AND GET THE NURSES!! WE MIGHT HAVE TO KNOCK HIM OUT IF HE WON'T CALM DOWN!!!" two others ran away and some glowing people started closing in
Kirito glanced at the two slightly amused. Whoever these people were, they sure liked fighting with each other, not to mention yelling at each other too. "Alright, I see what's happening here, clearly I'm unwanted. If you guys stop trying to kill me, I'll leave quietly." he said "Plus, I'll stop recking your town, or isa this your town. You know what I'm just going to say you live in the town, and not own it. Or do you share it?" He said slightly confused before giving up on the topic.
"Well, first off, I don't think ya want to go out there. Y'ain't gonna last more than a few minutes, perhaps an hour. The Layo Kal are starting to look for me. Second, we don't like to fight, just she does. Third, I'm new here so I can't own it, and this is just a small section from what I've gathered. Oh, and fourth," he swatted him out of the air and into another wall, kind of giving up on hoping to do any damage to him. "Fourth, we ain't tryin to kill you. Or at least I'm not. It's kinda funn
Funny watching you just tank through everything, yknow?" He started just jettisoning the unsettled stone in a sort of fountain at the kid, ensuring that, since it wasn't yet settled (or most of it) then he couldn't melt through it, which, in theory, should keep him in check. "Though, I would appreciate it if you sat still and not broke our windows... or backs"
"That depends on who's answering, your friend looks ready to kill anyone. And to be honest, I'm really trying hard not to go easy on you..." he said while jumping jump in the air higher than any normal human and then diving face first, his body in flames. As he crashed into it it melted, falling with him as he plummeted to the ground. He then landed in a crouch. "And I hate to break it to you but.." He said while slowly standing up, dusting himself off. "I can burn up to higher than any record in
history."He said.He looked around for minute, looking for something before spotting it."You might want your buddies to stop where they are.I truly hate hurting others, well, except when they're trying to kill me or take me away and lock me up or when they're trying to keep me from freedom, then I'll totally fight people who do that. " he said, looking back to stone-boy while a group of kids came running."Speaking of which, you're not going to hold me here away from freedom, cause if you did then
things wouldn't be too pretty."
Wildfire face palmed and muttered "you're an idiot. you're both idiots." sighing she waved her hand at the others "listen, i'm wildfire and i only fight when i have to defend our home or when we put someone in the arena. oh and by the way i'm taking a wild guess here, you are like most of the people here." Wildfire motioned a girl forward and whispered something in her ear she nodded and turned her attention toward the boy "this is Whind. she won't harm you, alright? kabel please stop pelting
"him with rocks. thank you. now listen the people or Layo Kal are still theoretically looking for everyone here and now Kabel has started a war between the kingdoms and what not so now we got a full scale war on our hands in which we are trying to stay neutral but the bears are stealing our water and fish..." she trailed off "sorry you probably don't want to know that because Pyro is coming to kill us all anyways and Winter is gone looking for help to the north so ya. i would really not like to
"fight right now thank you very much and if you would like to stop destroying the town both of you we can sit down and have a nice lovely chat about what's gonna happen ok? ok. now you guys make the decision while i go get some food." she walks off not waiting for a reply.
Kirito watched as she walked away. Immeditly Kirito's first thought was hide. The names she spoke of were very familiar, very. And what was worse was that he probably knew more about Layo Kal than anyone. Kirito then glanced around. The town seemed to be safe place to live if you wanted to be hidden but for some reason it made him feel on edge. Food sounded nice and all, a nice place to sleep was even better but staying hidden and safe was more important,m why else had he been traveling from one place to another?
Kabel melted the enormous suit of stone armor he made, and took tentative steps towards Kirito. "well, i can tell ya honestly i aint scared of heat.." he turned a second to show the huge burn mark in his shirt and back from Wildfire, "...thats from Fire there. you think flaming skin is hot stuff? try magma tsunamis. yeah. friggin waves of liquid, molten stone. guess what? i survived. boom. anyways." he took another tentative step. "yeah i sorta-kinda started a war, and these guys-- the Layo Kal--are probably tryin to get me back. yknow. the guys that ran tests on us, took everyone off the planet and locked them in giant metal moons called Edens? those guys. yeah. so, i suggest, if you want to live, then you should probably not go out there. a psycho named Pyro also is on a warpath for me, and is hellbent on my painful death i imagine." he took another step. he was now a few feet from the kid, and he was getting really nervous, but he still retained his default high hopes. he stopped, his arms out to his sides in a "whataya say"-type pose
Kirito stared at the guy with one of those "Stranger-danger/I don't even know this person" types of looks. "You try throwing stone at someone's face and do you think they'll want to hang out with that person? Plus, when we first met, you sat on me and didn't even say a friendly "Hello" or "How do you do" but instead you just sat on me." He said "not sure I'd like hanging around with someone who likes sitting on defenseless people like me."
Kabel considered this. "well, you werent exactly supposed to BE here, and youre kinda large, and you can light yourself on fire, and, if you havent noticed yet, humans--" he looked around "-- humans and ANIMALS arent exactly the most fire-retardant. however, thats no excuse, so i apologize." he stuck out a very shaky hand for a handshake. hedidn't do well with new people, but he was trying. "also youre lucky im not Fire. she would run you through and hang your head on a spike if she got the chance."
Wildfire came back with a bag of food "ok in his defense you had just come into our training facility without alerting the hounds. and you clearly aren't defenseless." she tossed the bag to him "and we still have nothing to call you by so unless you want to be known as Heater i suggest you tell them." bit into a doughnut she had gotten
Kirito watched as the boy put out his hand. He had a feeling this guy wouldn't do anything dumb. Kirito shook it. "I go by Beater and that as far as I'm talking about my personal stuff" He said to then grabbed an apple out of the bag and tossed it to the boy. "Your turn." Kirito said while grabbing another apple for himself pausing to bite into it and then swallowed "I'm all ears."
Kabel shook his hand, very surprised, and then shot his arms and a leg up in defense with a startled squeak at the apple, a stone arm shooting up to catch it. When the expected freight train didn't hit him, Kabel put his arms and leg down and opened the hand, doing a facepalm. He took the apple and put the stone arm back
Into the ground. "I'm Kabel. Kabel Durra. Since I'm pretty sure you're not in alliance or at least agreement with the Kal, I don't think it's too dangerous you know my name." He bit into the apple and sat on the ground. He gestured to Wildfire with the apple. "That over there is Fire. Wildfire. Uh... I dunno anyone else."
Kirito looked at Kabel in surprised. As he took another bite of his apple he commented "So I'm guessing you get scared easily." he said, absentmindedly.
Kabel smirked and did a sort of "well, yknow" kind of shrug. "I like to think of it more as being more ready to fend anything off"
Kirito laughed. And at the same time a memory sparked up. He couldn't remember the last time he had laughed, it felt good to laugh once in awhile. "That's a good point, though maybe you should tone it down a bit, I don't want to be a stone statue."
"Hey, there are perks to being a statue. You don't have to breath, or eat, or excersize, and you don't have to listen to people like Fire jabber on" he dodged a blow, laughing. "Aight, more like people like me jabbering on"
Kirito laughed. "Well that's true, but I sure wouldn't want to be one." He looked out at the clouds in the distance and spoke mostly to himself, softly."There somewhere that I have to go first before I can do anything I want to do first. There's someone I have to see before anything else." He gave a small smile. "Right," he said and looked up and tried to hit Kabel playfully "What are you talking about, you talk more than fire jabber over there."
Kabel cocked his head. "...so you're gonna assinate someone? Sweet. Can I help?"
Wildfire listened to the conversation amused "that depends who or what you need to see. i know everyone here, and either Oak or Wind will help you with the where part. if it's an Elder though, i might have to pull a few strings... so who do ya need to see?" Wildfire smiled and snatched the bag from Kabel playfully
Kabel fell over, surprised. "YOU FRIGGIN DIMWIT" he sat up, and made the likeness of a human out of stone behind Wildfire. or at least, as human as he could make it. he made it walk up behind her silently and tap her on the shoulder, just because he could.
startled Wildfire round house kicked its head off "GAH!!!!" then turned on Kabel and resisted the urge to slap the grin off his face "haha i hate you all." and face palmed
Kirito burst out laughing. "Wow, how long has it been since I had other people to talk to like this...I think 5 years or so." He said, still chuckling. After a minute his laughter finally died down. "As for the part I said earlier, there's someone I need to see but I doubt that person is even here." Wildfire and Kabel gave him a look like 'Stop being so stupid and just tell us already' type of look and Kirito sighed. "Is there anyoe who acted like I did when they first met you guys?"
"actually yes. Oak, Poison, Stream, Wind, Me for the most part and some say even Elder Crystal did too and destroyed the whole place!" she laughed "ahh it feels so good to laugh, and to talk for that matter too. as for this person you are looking for, there are many people here and gone who have acted like you, some worse than others. it narows it downs some but by not much. anything else you can give us..." Wildfire turned around and shooed off some people curious about him "ugh, we should probably get out of here before the elders find out about what happened here. i can get Oak and the others to clean all this up." she motioned for both of them to follow while shouting an order to Oak
Kabel hopped up, still grinning because he managed to fool Wildfire (he was glad he decided against doing it himself). he followed her, realizing that the grotesque head was still settled, and sitting in a crowd of people. he stopped a second, and made the head start making faces. he quickly turned around, the crowd's noisome reaction telling him all he needed to know. he ran to catch up with Wilfire and the kid, making quite a bit of noise by accident. "aaaand were back"
Wildfire glared at him and melted the head then slapped upside the head "nincompoop." and rolled her eyes
Kirito was deep into thought as they walked away from the crowd. the term 'elders' rung a bell for him but he couldn't remember where he had heard it from, in fact, everything about these people was slightly familiar but for some reason it was like there was something blocking his memories of it. He gave a sigh and glanced at Wildfire who slapped Kabel upside the head. Kirito couldn't help but to grin. Kirito then paused. "I have one question, is there a girl who goes by the name Fallon here?"
Kabel gave him a weird look while Wildfire looked at him strange. He sighed "Forget it, I highly doubt she's here, she's probably didn't even come here."
"Fallon? hmm. i've heard of Falcon, but that's probably not her." she paused in thought but kept walking "but...... there was a girl who got her name changed by Elder Crystal, can't remember what her name was then. maybe i can see him after class." she turned to Kirito "for now you'll just have wait until i can see Elder Crystal and the others. so i guess you can stick with either me or Kabel for studies and if you got any cuts, bruises, burns etc. he can show you where the infirmary
is." she glanced back at them, smiled "he's been there quite a few times already." and laughed
Kirito grinned. "Well, to be honest, I rather check things out by myself but I don't think you guys would let me. And no offense but I rather that stone dude over here who sat on me earlier than stick around with someone who might stand as a threat to me, with you turning on fire and all, I would feel as though I would have to keep a bucket of water by me at all times."
Kabel rubbed his face and smiled. Somebody actually chose him for something! "Yeah I can show you it. I uh... may or may not have uh... kinda been living there permanently ever since I got here? Which... was actually only about a day ago? I can never really tell time down here. But yeah. Burns (cough Fire), cuts-- those're from that weirdo Pyro-- uh, and then my legs. Crunched them trying to make sure SOMEBODY didn't KILL ME. And then I guillotined them. It hurt. A lot." He shrugged. "But now I
Am pretty sure she isn't on a warpath to kill me. Pretty sure. Never can be too sure with someone like her." He dodged another hit, and smiled. "Ok, maybe she does."
Kirito smiled and scratched the back of his head "So..this studying thing.." He started to say while walking straight toward a building "is it this way?Or am I going the totally opposite way cause my instincts tell me to find a tree and just sleep in it but that's me for you." He said to Kabel and then added quickly "I mean, if I have to do this studies thing then I'll do it, but hey, don't be mad if I fall asleep during it."
Wildfire laughed "nope, completely the wrong way. it was a very bloody and hot mess, i think Pyro has that covered. with ya know the whole civil war thing with the wolves, bears and what not? for studies just stick with Kabel, even though *cough*he doesn'tknow*cough*muchofthe*cough*compound*cough* i'm sorry what were you saying?" she smiled teasingly as a fog horn bellowed from somewhere "oh god already? oh well, i got to get going. Kabel your first class is elemental deflection better hurry!"
she ran off to her classes "it's right next to the meeting hall!" Wildfire shouted over her shoulder
Kirito had a feeling he had been going the wrong way. He watched as Wildfire ran off and then awkwardly turned to look at Kabel. "So..... uh yea, that just happened." Kirito felt sort of uncomfortable at the moment before realizing something. "Kabel, don't we need to get going to class?"
Kabel stared at her with his mouth open and a finger up. He closed his mouth and nodded once. "Uh, right. Meeting hall. No clue where that is. I'm sure I'll figure it out." He looked around and started down the street towards where he thought he had been before. He turned around and walked backwards, so he could talk to the kid. "Unless the traveling party has any dissenting opinions, our course is set due thisway. Please refrain on any brutal murders until we arrive. Then let me help."
Kirito burst out laughing at hearing Kabel's comment "Right, I'm sure I'll try to not live up to my criminal record." He said. And then added after a couple minutes of silence "I have a question, and even if you haven't been here for awhile, I have a feeling you would know it anyway."
halfway to her first class Wildfire stopped mid stride "wait, does Kabel know where the meeting hall is?" she thought "oh well! not my fault if he is late." and continued running toward the room at the end of the hallway "alright, time for combat practice" Wildfire smiled "no maiming, unless you want to loose your dessert privilege but hey. what's another week."
Kirito "Is there a place for me where I could stay at, without having to be near anyone else? 'cause if I'm staying here for a couple of days, then I'll need to have my own space without people near me." He said and then realized something "And I'm pretty sure that's the meeting hall." He said pointing to a large building to their right, which had a banner on it which said 'The Meeting Hall'.
Kabel stopped and turned. "Mm... yeah, that's probably a safe bet." He walked over to it and peered inside. There weren't whole lot of people or animals (he still couldn't figure out how or why animal should were even here and talking, but he figured the Kal probly messed with them). "So now what're we supposed to do?"
Kirito shrugged and glanced around, not knowing what to do. "Not sure," he replied "I mean, you've been here longer."
"Not all that longer. Besides, I've been in the infirmary for the whole time basically. They kept saying I should do something about my legs. I guess they're kinda right, I did just cleave them off and leave it like that..." he looked down at his legs, which from the knees down were made of stone. "Yeah I'll be fine." He looked around again, still not sure what to do. "I guess we just wait here"
Kirito hadn't really looked at Kabel's legs at first . "Waiting sounds a lot of fun."He said full of boredom. Kirito's eyes then looked around the room when he saw something.Kirito walked over toward a wall and stood there, looking at it. There was a small ledge up 22 feet high. Kirito smirked and then backed up a couple feet behind himself before then running straight at the wall. Then jumped and started to run up the wall before he was at the ledge. There he sat down his feet hanging over the
edge. Kirito the looked around the room causally like he always did stuff like this.
the foghorn reverberated again right after Wildfire had sat down "hello class..." the teacher said from the ceiling "today we'll be learning how to avoid hits from the other elements," jumping down he finished "especially water." Wildfire sighed miserably glancing at what passed for a clock "oh boy, this is gonna be a long class" she muttered under her breath and started to pair up with another person
Kirito sat on his ledge and watched the teacher, with amusement in his eyes. Kabel looked up at kirito and kirito sighed, "he had a feeling if he didn't get down he would get in trouble, and twice in one day for that matter." Kirito jumped down and landed next to Kabel. "What to pair up?" He asked Kabel
Kabel jumped out of the way of the much larger human's impact, and shrugged. "Sure. I don't really know many people here, and I'm not exactly the most socially adept, so I guess I'm kinda stuck with you." He paused. "Not that it's a bad thing it's just... yknow... yknow what I mean, aye?" He figured he should shut up. He stood by Kirito and looked towards the teacher, spotting Wildfire amongst the crowd. He wondered why he hadn't noticed all these people before, but then remembered he was basically blind sometimes. He missed a lot of stuff
Kirito nodded, feeling that he could relate to Kabel and about being not social around others, intact, that was normal for him no to be social. Kirito saw Wildfire who was giving him a stare but didn't say anything. Kirito just smirked back and then leaned against the wall, waiting of the lesson to begin, he really didn't expect any of these people here to be fighters, they looked more like normal, regular, and super boring people. Kirito yawned but tried to muffle it but all that got him was a glare from the teach.
Wildfire glared at the boy and partnered up with Oak "alright, want to go to arena or 13?" Oak just smiled and started to head off "alright arena 13 it is." WIldfire said and started to follow behind her "oh! almost forgot, we have to get two more pairs. let's try the new guys out." she smirked over at Kabel and motioned them over "HEY! NEWBIES! LET'S GO!!" then turned toward Oak "alright, your turn"
Kirito looked at Kabel and shrugged before going toward Wildfire was and the guy who he was pretty sure was Oak. Kirito then set down his satchel, making sure it wawaas out of the way. He then glanced over toward the other two before speaking "So, are we going to just have a stare down....or what?" He sked casually
"nope, we're just waiting for her," she nodded toward Oak ", to pick another pair to join us."
Kirito nodded it sort of made sense "So yeah." He said and then cracked his knuckles, out of boredom.
Kabel blinked and looked around. He had spaced out for quite a while it seemed. Or maybe not? He had poor sense of time. He ran to catch up with the others, and leaned against the wall. Some other people were joining them, it seemed. One was the heavyset girl from the cafeteria whom they called Oak, the one he hoped he would nevertheless have to fight. She was tall and
Thick, like a grizzly. Not exactly the person you want on their bad side. "Great. So now what?"
Kirito shrugged and then glanced around. "I was sort of hoping that is place would be..well you know... more exciting and more people fighting but it's like any other boring town"He said to Kabel and then glanced at Oak and Wildfire "Done picking us another group yet?"
Wildfire smiled "yes. come on we're going to arena 13. Kabel you should remember this one." she took the lead and walked down the nearest hallway "oh and it wasn't up to me to pick the other it was Oak's choice. let's hope you guys can hold you own. it's gonna be everyone for themselves." she grinned bigger and started to run down the passage "come on!!" Wildfire called back
*yes that is Oak*
Kirito sighed, he then grabbed his satchel, not wanting someone to steal it, and followed Wildfire, easily keeping up with her. When he arrived at area 13, it was a bit smaller than he had expected, it was at least half the size of a football field. He was kid of hoping it would have been bigger but there was nothing he could do about that. Kirito then set down his satchel by the edge so no one would step on it.
Kabel, just to see if he could do it, decided we would stay behind for a second. Then, he raised a huge glob of stone from the floor and walls, and wrapped it around his body, undulating and seething. Then he lifted it on liquid struts into the air, and proceeded down the hallway as a giant stone amoeba, extending and retracting giant pillars of stone, while his body remained in a pod in the middle. When he got to the arena, he emerged from the pod, which sank into the ground, to the baffled
Stares of the group, he just shrugged, grinning like a madman. "I thought it would be fun." He walked past them into the arena. "Oh my... oh my oh my... I remember this. You almost killed me here, remember? Burned a whole in the back of my shirt too. Oh, and I cut my legs off! Ah, yes, good times, good times indeed."
Kirito watched Label emerge from his pod thing. He then stood still for a second before he sqauting down while bursting with laughing. He looked at Label. "You are a genius of sorts, serious, it's like you know how to make me laugh." He told Label and then stpood up. He directed his focus to Wildfire, Oak, and the others. "You ready?" He asked them "Because I am." And he got in a ready stance, his fists up
*its Kabel* Wildfire laughed "if you think that's this class works then you're dead meat." she lit herself on fire "alright people take a corner" Wildfire walked to a corner still on fire "well? whatcha waiting for? an invitation? HURRY UP!" she watched everybody walk, run, blob, jump into a corner
Kirito half had wished the would fight each other, it seemed a much better way to learn how to fight and protect yourself if you were actually fighting against someone just about the same level SAS you, maybe even higher if you really wanted to learn from the best. Kirito causally walked over to a corner. "So...you guys going to teach us rookies?" He said to Wildfire and Oak
Kabel walked to a corner and donned his usual stone armor with excessively large spiked shoulder plates. He also got a little pseudohuman (he called them his "pseudodudos") next to him too, just in case. He melted his facemask over his mouth for a second and shouted to the others. "What are we doing again?"
Kirito shrugged and replied back. "To be honest...I actually have absolutely no clue what so ever." And then glanced around, looking and studying edvery detail of the place before turning his attention back to the others.
Wildfire smiled "like i said, every man for himself" she pressed a button and the arena starts spinning and dividing up. Wildfire laughed at their shocked faces and shot a fireball at a stone that came hurling toward them "Hey! heads up. everyman for himself! let's go peopl!!" and jumps into the fray
Kirito stood there for half minute, watching everything moving and not to mention spinning too. "Oh...great." He managed to say before putting a knee down and trying to catch his breath. He looked at Wildfire, who was running through the fray and he called out to her. "You know-"He starterd to say but stopped. Soon, everything stopped in motion and Kirito took a deep breath before standing up. Everyone was mixed up and the smooth ground had been totally changed. Kirito then smirked and balled
Up his fists. He grinned at Wildfire who happened to be near him. His fist went on fire and he spoke "This is more like it!"
Wildfire jumped from rotating platform to rotating platform dodging projectiles and taking out Oak's picks as she went, dropping them into a box at the other side of the arena as they pouted disappointed to be out so early on "come on newbies! you're just too slow." she jumped to a vertical platform and surveyed the battle, Oak was out. it was just her Kabel and that other guy 'what was his name again?'
Kirito watched as Wildfire jumped to a vertical platform and wawas pretty sure she was surveying everything. He grinned and spoke "Hey fire girl, yeah I'm talking to you. I want to challenge to a one on one match. " He said and then glanced at kabel and then back to Wildfire. "I've been wanting to see for myself if you can even land a blow on me." He said, watching Wildfire. "If you do, then I'll be impressed."
she rolled her eyes "fine! come up here without getting scathed then i'll fight you. winner get's to fight Kabel. not that it will be any fun. he's too slow." Wildfire cast a glance at the shocked Kabel and smiled when it turned to fury
Kirito shrugged, it seemed fair enough. "Alright, but when I beat you, you have to take me to Elder what'sheface." He said and his body turned on fire. He carefully touched the ground, half kneeling half sitting, and quietly spoke a simple word. In a second, flying faster than those could see. He dodged some flying platforms before stopping a couple yards Wildfire's. "Well?" He asked and looked down at himself. I don't think I scratched myself...do you?" He said, slightly mockingly.
she mock examined him "well, you look a little burnt." she smiled and lit herself on fire as he moved forward Wildfire stepped back and off the platform grabbing the lip at the last second and going into the matrix and gears supporting the platform "well?" she called "you coming? or are you scared you don't know your surroundings as i do?" she mock laughed, extinguished her flames and hid herself in a crany between two gears
Kirito looked at the thing and a thought then occurred to him. Kirito let a small smile slip out and he laughed. "Wow, you want to play hide and go seek?" He said, suddenly laughing "That's rich. Well ether way," He said, his expression turning slightly dark "Nothing ever can hide someone away forever."He then looked at the gears in the platform "If that's how you want to play.." He said and then his fist became on fire "Then I hope you don't mind me playing by my own rules."He said loudly and lightning then crackled in the sky. He quietly muttered something to himself before flying upward above the platform that Wildfire was hiding under and went above it about 20 feet high before diving straight down, fire surrounding his body and a flash of lightning flashed in the sky at the same time and was now not only on fire but had electricity going on him too while plugging straight at the platform "Technique 7, Crimson Lotus...Phoenix Blade!" he said and propelled himself toward the target in front of him, leaving behind a long wake of flames, and hitting it with a devastating headbutt, causing him to break straight through the platform and going right through it without stopping, causing the entrie platform to break in pieces and falling to the groung, causing Wildfire to fall along with it. Right before Kirito hit the ground, he twisted so that he landed on his feet. His fire slowly went away and he breathed heavily for a moment.
Wildfire peaked her head out in time to see him hurling down from the sky she jumped and made herself sink into the ground. when she melted about 3 ft or so she dropped into a passageway under the arena Wildfire closed the gap above her head and ran behind where the boy was probably standing "fine, you want to play dirty." she smirked "then let's play dirty..." she came to a room full of buttons and windows, Wildfire scanned them and pushed one "alrighty then. hydrogen gas with a touch of potassium." she heard coughing above her head and smiled "now to make it rain and rage with fire." she burned her way to the top and poured a glass of water on the silver power that had settled on the ground. Wildfire looked at the boy and smirked 'he was out of breath!" using the fire to strengthen her she lunged at him
Kirito saw Wildfire lung at him and a wall of fire went straight at him. Kirito dodged Wildfire's attack but the wall of fire still hit him. He was engulfed by flames for a couple of seconds before all of a sudden the fire slowly disappeared, into kirito as if he had eaten it. He grinned after all the fire was gone. "Thanks for the grub, I needed that he said." He then turned on fire again "You know, you should really do some more studying because I'm not a normal kid who uses fire. The Kal probably saw something in me because I sure got stuff different from everyone else that I have seen." He said, smirking slightly "Just a heads up for the future, Wild, I can eat fire." He stated and then a blast of fire came out of his mouth, like a beam of light, straight at Wildfire.
Kabel looked up for a split second, just to keep tabs on the fight. He had been kneeling the whole time (or most of it), quietly whispering things to himself. His pseudodudo had already melted, as he was needed in this endeavor. So had his armor, slowly. He stood up, shaking a bit and looked at the two. "Oy!" His voice was shaky and cracking. "Dudos! Aye, yous!"
Kirito looked at Kabel in surprised but then shrugged, clearly the guy didn't like fighting. "See you later then." He said and carefully touched the ground again, half kneeling half sitting, and quietly spoke a simple word. In a second,he was up in the air again, a good length away from Wildfire. He watched Wildfire who was on the ground.
she smiled "i know, so can i. i was just testing a theory." and jumped down after him to Kabel "well? whatdya want? you do realize that this goes on forever until all but one of us is left right? and Oak is gonna kill me if i lose." Wildfire paused "actually she's gonna kill me anyway cause i got her out. oh well. so you were saying?" she turned her attention back to the two boys
Kirito smirked and then sighed before putting his hands in the air. 'Alright, you caught me." he said "I forfeit" he said and then flew over toward where his satchel was he landed on the ground and picked it up. He then jumped back into the air and turned to look at Wildfire and Kabel "You two have fun, I'll be back in a bit." he said and saluted to them before flying off in the blink of an eye.
Kabel watched as the kid flew off. Well that was going to make things significantly less fun. But he'd prepared this much, he had to use it. He turned to Wildfire and raised his arms up, palms facing away, fingers together and thumbs out. Then he turned his palms face up and, smiling, closed them into tight fists. He was shaking as if he were in an earthquake, tho, he thought, he essentially was. He raised his fists in the air, and said "gotcha." The entire arena rumbled, and some of the walls
Started to crack. He wasn't sure how big he had made this, but obviously it was bigger than anticipated. The arena shook even more violently, but he stood there, legs spread, fists up in the air, and face contorted in concentration and strain. The walls and ceiling were showing signs of immense stress-- way more than planned. Then a mass of semi-liquid, semi-solind stone pillars shot up all around, shattering parts of the ceiling and walls. Kabel closed his eyes tightly. It was getting too large
Kirito flew to the one place which he knew was the perfect place to go...the kitchen. In theory, it was the smartest choice to make. He stopped at a building and could immediately tell it was the kitchen from the smells coming out of it. He walked in and tried his best to blend into the crowd. He wandered over to where there was a table full of food and picked up and apple. He then launched back out of the building and then grinned, no one had ever said he had to stay at the area. Instead, he yea
Large... but the pillars kept coming, and started to arc light jets of water, crashing into the ground. He didn't know how long it was, but he must of fallen unconscious, because he woke up in a nearly pitch-black bubble of stone. Outside he could here shouts, coming from all around. He opened a whole in the side of the bubble, and stepped out into the corridor shakily. The pillars hadn't just been in the arena, it seemed. They were pretty much everywhere. But he didn't have time to contemplate. As suddenly he collapsed in the middle of the hall, bleeding like he had been stabbed-- but he hadn't. He was unconscious before he could think of any explanation.
Kirito headed over to a huge tree with looks of good strong branches and then flew to the tallest branch which was still big enough to hold his weight. there he sat down and started to eat his apple, looking thoughtfully into the distance.
Wildfire had stared as he flew off swearing to herself then she turned to kabel who looked like a constipated chicken she was about to ask something when a pillar shot up behind her tearing a gash to the bone. Wildfire cried out and looked around, other pillars were shooting up all over the place "GET OUT OF HERE!!!" she yelled over the sounds to Oak and the others "GET OUT OF HERE!" Oak nodded and led the others away into the panic of the hallways. sighing she turned her attention towards Kabel,, lighting herself on fire she melted the stone around him, making sure he didn't notice and covered him up. Wildfire nearly fell forward when the shaking had stopped, thanking the elders she rolled what she assumed an unconscious Kabel to the Elders tower. rapping on the door Elder Ember answered "we need to talk with Crystal Mageus. it's urgent." her elder paled at the Elder's name then nodded and helped her push the orb thing into the circular room where a pillar had sprung up in the middle.
Kirito casually was sitting on a branch in a tree, leaning against the trunk of it. He took another bite out of his apple and noticed that a lot of commotion was happening in the area. He also noticed that Oak and a few others were running out of the area hurrily. Kirito looked down at them in surprise and then looked around to see Kabel being dragged of by some other people, currently unconscious.
Kabel woke up in a strange room, his clouded vision not helping him. His side ached, as did just about every muscle in his body. He moved a hand slowly to his side, with much pain, and felt a rather large gash in his side. It was bandaged up, but it had soaked through already. He felt awful, like he'd been struck by an iron haymaker from all directions. He tried to turn and winced. Something sharp was in his other side. He prayed that it wasn't a bone. He flopped back (however much you can flop
when you have barely turned) and coughed. Some wet, sticky stuff landed on his chest. Great. "Well", he thought, "at least I'll bleed out before anything else bad happens..." he knew something was wrong with the logic there, but he didn't care. A door opened (or what he took to be a door. All he saw was a sudden increase in light on the ceiling) and someone came in, scooped him up, and Carrie during him out. "Oh no, no no," he thought. "No the Kal! They got me! They found me! They found me!!!!"
He groaned in protest, but was in too much pain to do much else. He couldn't see or hear who was carrying him, nor much of anything else for that matter. Just differences in light and great globs of random colors that he took to be the face of his captor and the walls behind it. Suddenly he felt even weirder than usual. "Great. I'm gonna pass--" he passed out before he could finish the thought.
Kirito had a feeling something interesting was going on, and he wished he knew where Kabel or Wildfire went, he had a feeling he was missing out of something exciting. He sighed and finished his apple quietly, his hair swaying in the wind.
Wildfire had taken Kabel to the Elders and explained what had happened and why, when she was finished everyone looked at Elder Crystal who sighed and motioned for her to help lift him up "Elder Crystal, what are we going to do? should i go get Winter back?" he nearly dropped Kabel's head "oh... she kind of went to find BlackIce and RedRage cause Pyro started an all out war between the Bears with the Wolves against the tigers and the foxes. yeah......" she trailed off "OH MY GOD I FORGOT TO GIVE MY REPORT!!!" Kabel groaned "oops, im gonna patch that up," they placed him on a table and Wildfire got to work bandaging the gash in his side "hey Crystal? what should i do about Winter." he thought and replied "get Rye to go to her." Wildfire nodded and went to find the wolf pup
Kabel had been dozing in and out of delirious consciousness for a while. Every time he came to, there was a new face. Once he thought he say Pyro's impish, grinning face, but he was out again before he could react. Then, one time, he had shot bolt upright, screaming. He felt something in his side, and turned to look at it, and then flopped right back down, completely and totally out.
Wildfire stepped back from Kabel after she had gotten Rye and come back to make something. she had just taken off the tea kettle when Kabel sat up screaming and dropped the burning hot pot on her foot. when she turned back to him he was staring right at her and looked like he was going to scream, but then he knocked out again "ugh, better make another one." she put the kettle back on and put more water in it to make two cups
At one point, kirito must of fallen asleep because a could twenty minutes passed before a bird landed on his shoulder. He slowly opened his eyes to see the bird and stared at it confused for a minute before realizing he must of fallen asleep. Kirito stretched his arms a bit before looking around the city, the place was poly quiet, which was sort of a surprise. Kirito had expected this place to be cheerful and bright but clearly it wasn't all that glamorous. Kirito sighed
and looked down at the bottom of the tree. He grumbled about something under his breath before grabbing his satchel and then hopping down from the tall tree and landing on the ground causally . He then started to walk to one place which didn't look boring, the library.
As the minutes (or hours, days even?) went by, Kabel drifted back and forth more. Occasionally he rose into a dream for a few seconds, then thrust awake just long enough for him to give a short, sharp yell, then out again. The new he woke up. He looked about, still lying down, eyes bleary. "Mm... Wildfire? You there?" He grumbled. He heard someone in the room with him. "Wildfire?" He leaned up a bit
Wildfire stayed with Kabel on Elder Crystal's instructions as he woke up in intervals that ranged from seconds apart to a day. this one he hadn't moved for over a day. Wildfire was dozing off when she heard her name. bolting awake she looked around "huh?" walking over to Kabel "hey sleeping beauty ur awake." she teased "good thing too cause the incinerator is on the other side of the campus." she smiled teasingly
Elder Crystal walked into a room full of hushed people "alright. Wildfire and Winter are confirmed. we are just waiting for Kabel Durra, Kirito and Falcon." he smiled "i was right to give her a new name. he's looking for her." pausing his smiled turned venomous "Pyro's in place, so is that idiot of a bear RagingRiver." straightening up "it won't be long the Kal will be proud about how many we've gathered"
Kirito started to look through books, flipping through and skimming throughout the pages. He would eventually up the book down on a stack of books that he had already read through and would look for another one. There was no true reason what he was doing, just making a mess of things, but Kirito had a weird feeling about this place he was in. he sighed and started to put another book down on a pile when he saw a book out of the corner of his eyes which was clearly was a type of dairy. He set do
wn the book in his hand before walking over to the book he had caught out of the corner of his eye. he picked it up and looked through it and his supitions were correct, it was a diary, a diary of every test subject that the Kal had tested on. Down to every detail, well, expect for a few people. A couple names had no information on them. Kirito pocketed the book into his satchel and headed out to find Kabel, he had some questions to ask him and wildfire.
Kabel looked around the room, unable to make out anything clearly. he was propped on his elbow leaning up a bit. his side hurt. he squinted and looked around. "Wildfire?" someone stopped moving, and then walked over to him. he couldnt make out who it was at first, but finally they got close enough to where Kabel could see that they were Wildfire. they were miling and saying stuff but it was really muffled. they were smiling at him. it made him feel kind of weird, but he liked this person. and the one kid. he liked him too. they were nice. his side started to hurt more, and he winced, lying back down.
Kirito burst into the room where Wildfire and Kabel were. He had sped up the process of finding the two by flying to them instead of randomly walking around. As he had been flying, he'd been multitasking by reading the diary and looking for the two at the same time. What he had gained from the book was something he couldn't control. He felt like he was going to explode any second with anger. He walked over to Kabel fast and shook him. "Wake up, do you have rocks for brains?! We need to go." he said with a annoyed/angry voice. Wildfire looked at Kirito confused and kirito didn't reply to Wildfire, he was having enough problems hiding his emotions. "If they find us, we're dead. Now up and at'em."
the boy burst into the room and started to shake Kabel awake violently "dude! chill. he's in no condition to move right now. he got impaled with his own pillar." glancing at something sticking up from his bag she gasped "where did you get that." she snatched it and flipped through "she was right. Winter was right." Rye came bolting in panting and kept yapping excitedly *Rye's a wolf pup* and ran from one side of the room to the other and back "well, Winter's back. i have to go tell her before Elder Crystal hears her report." pausing on the way out "oh and the person you're looking for, her old name doesn't happen to be Fallon? does it?"
Kirito ignored Wildfire. If he hooray m stayed here any longer, they were dead. He kept shaking Label and at one point he stood up and looked actually wide awake than he had been before. Kirito was about to tell Label to pack up his stuff cause they wouldn't be staying in this dump town when Wildfire said a name while pausing on her way out. Kirito didn't move for a second before moving right in front of Wildfire so fast that it looked like he had moved like lightning, blocking her from leaving.
Kirito stood in the doorway and stared straight at Wildfire before asking her in a quiet tone. "What was the name." Wildfire looked slightly confused at his sudden change and started to reply with a 'calm down saying' when Kirito interrupted her with a fierce yet calm shout "Don't give me a stupid lecture, what was the name you just said!"
Kabel was very, very confused, and yelling. the kid had just suddenly appeared and next thing he knows hes being shaken as if there was an earthquake. he curled on the table, and then started to scream, all without his say-so. he didnt know what was going on. his side felt like it was tearing open, and he felt hot, sticky liquid coming out, but he continued to scream. then suddenly, he stopped. he was out, yet again.
when he had stopped and jumped infront of her "woah! dude! Fallon got renamed Falcon. she just kinda floats all over. no one will do anything with her, claims to be a witch which is silly cause technically we are." pauses "in fact just last year they tried to have her burn at the stake. interesting to watch but ya. not very fun. Elder Crystal stopped them" Wildfire paused "indeed, i remember that. Wildfire what happened to Kabel? never mind. Elder Crystal is on his way we have to leave. now" someone stood behind Wildfire and was dragging her away "let's go! we don't have any time to lose. Fallon will meet us there." the girl said glancing back at the boy "i'm Winter by the way. grab Kabel and get out of here. we're gonna die tonight if we don't leave. i was right they're tracking our progress. the Kal are landing tonight." an alarm sounded and the girl-Winter started to run
Kirito let go of Wildfire and immediately understood. He grabbed Kabel, put him over his shoulder as if he weighed nothing and rocketed out of the building before any of them could blink. "I should have known, Fallon always was smarter, of course she would change her name and call herself a witch." Kirito muttered to himself, zooming up to get a good look of the city. He then spotted Wildfire and Winter running south. He noticed that someone was ahead of them, waiting. Kirito sped up and then appeared a couple yards away from the person who was waiting. Kirito could tell it was a girl, she was wearing a cloak, and was standing, looking in the opposite direction. Kirito was going to reply to the girl when she spoke "Don't talk, there are eyes and ears everywhere," She turned and looked at Kirito sadly with a small smile "Sorry that I didn't come and warn you earlier, I was actually looking for you on the surface." She looked over at Wildfire and Winter who had caught up.
She then spoke ever quiet but her eyes were watching every moment they made "I can only teleport other if I am touching them. Even then, I can still only teleport myself and two others." She glanced over at Kirito and at the sleeping Kabel and then back at Wildfire and Winter "Though I may not remember who you guys really are, I have a feeling that we knew each other well before, I'm trusting that feeling that's it is right." An alarm went off somewhere which was more like a scream than alarm.
Winter smiled at this "uhh, ya. take him and Kabel. Wildfire and i will hold them off as long as we can." Wildfire lit herself on fire and put up a wall of fire "well? whadya waitin for? if that's correct we're being sent off tonight. GO!!!!!!!"
Kirito shook his head "I might not be able to teleport but I can fly with using magi- I mean power." He said confidently. "Besides, if you guys stay here, you'll be over powered, like I was once when I tried fighting against them."
they looked at each other "ha! you underestimate us." Wildfire and Winter smiled and said "go already!" and turned to the wall of fire that was starting to die and people started to pour out of the tunnels, Oak, Sap, Jasper and others smiled at them and started to build a more stable wall. Winter glanced back "you were saying?" and wrapped vines and thorns around the mass that kept growing
Kirito sighed and then glanced at Fallon who nodded. Kirito then handed Kabel to Fallon, who put him on her shoulder. She then whispered into his mind, the directions on were they would met each other, and then was gone. Kirito sighed and then looked at Wildfire and Winter one last time before spotting someone in the distance. He couldn't tell who exactly it was but he had a feeling if he stayed, he would be trapped here for a long time. Kirito sighed and then rocketed into a tunnel which lend him to the surface
Kabel awoke to the sound of sirens and engines flaring. His head and side throbbed, and he was... upside down??? Yes, someone was carrying him it seemed, over their shoulder. So he couldn't see anything, just legs moving and the swish of a cape, or cloaca, or maybe a really crappy ghost costume. They were running through the forest, although it sounded like they were in a warzone, or maybe a factory. He moved his head around, despite the pain, and looked up. A huge starship, shaped like a giant football (American football) with large spikes that emerged near one end, but ran down alongside the ship, extending off of it, was hovering in the sky, while slightly bloated, conical-shaped landing craft were falling from it. Small crescent fighters zipped around with spherical, winged scout fighters and similar, smaller scout drones. Kabel started to panic, as he believed this caped captor was in fact a Layo Kal in the flesh. He disregarded his burning side and mustered the strength to
Summon a fist of stone, which came out of the ground and hit the Kal in the stomach, with enough force to topple them, but not enough to kill them. He wanted to see these guys in person. He ducked and rolled from the Kal, and tried to hop up, only to find his stone legs were gone, so all he had were stumps that ended at the knees. Wonderful. Instead he SAT up, very menacingly, and put his fists up, ready to pummel this son of a gun. The Kal was taking its time getting up, however, and was facing the opposite direction. When they finally turned around, Kabel was shocked to find it wasn't a Kal at all... but a girl. A human girl. A rather ticked, dangerous-looking girl.
Fallon was slightly shocked when she started to topple over. Fallon was slightly annoyed at this point when her face hit the oc, uld tell she had scratched her cheek which was now bleeding. She slowly got up and turned to see the boy who's expression was full of shock. felt pretty ticked off at this point. What was with this guy?! "What?!" She called out "Never seen a girl or something?!?!" she asked him. Fallon was going to say else she stopped to get a good look at the boy. Something in the back of Fallon's memory stirred and she looked at the boy's face and hair before stopping cold. She then quietly said, more of a question than a statement" Kabel?"
Kabel put his fists down, a bit more than shocked that the person knew his name. "Aye, that's meh name. Though how someone such as yourself got ahold of it is beyond me." He layer download for a second until the stone melted and came over to him, then he hopped up, fully legged. "There we are. Now. Howsabout you explain how you know me?" He put a fist to his hip, crossed his legs, and aimed with his other hand at a tree to lean on, but missed, catching himself quickly and finding the tree. He stared the weird person-- all he could remember from Wildfire and the kid addressing her was "Fall"-- dead in the eyes, trying to look less confused and tougher than he was. He cocked an eyebrow both in confusion and in "well this person is weird".
Fallon eyes slightly widen when he missed the tree complete. She gave him a confused look. "I don't know exactly," She said slowly, a bit of confusion in her tone "I don't know how to exactly put this but for some reason when ever I look at you, that name just pops up. " and then added while looking at her feet "I'm sorry, it's just that..." She said, a bit and then looked up " I don't exactly have a memory."
Kabel shrugged. "I literally fell from the sky in a giant metal ball... or capsule, oblonged sphere, I don't know. Point being it's fine, mate, I've seen so much weird stuff today that sometimes I wish I myself didn't have a memory. But, if i didn't, then I wouldn't remember Wildfire... or the kid..." he shrugged again. "Yeah. It's fine." He clutched at his side, as it had suddenly begun to hurt again. Why had it stopped? He didn't know, nor really care. "We... ow... we should probably go, aye? That's what we're supposed be doin?" He looked at Fallon with his head cocked to the side a bit, questioning. He grimaced again. Stupid... thing. Whatever it was. He didn't care, he was just tired and wanted to get wherever they were supposed to Be going.
Fallon nodded. "Okay" She then hesitated for a second "umm, can you walk to where we're heading?" Sh asked him with a look at where Kabel was clutching his side. "I would teleport but I'm low on ethernano so I won't be able to go far at all." She paused "oh, you're probably confused. Don't worry, I was too when Kiro told me everything. You see the Kal sort of actually helped us in a way. These ley viens were put in our body for a reason. In the air that every life form breaths, there is something
Called Ethernano. Every living being has a type of container which collects in the ethernano. When we humans do it, we can't profuse anything. But since we have these ley viens, we can use it to something called magic. And that's how were able to make fire, water, an all that appear. " she told him
She then remembered something that she had forgotten "Since every person's container determines the limit of use of their power, not everyone a huge one. Some are actually very small. And after awhile when you do a lot of spells or a really powerful one, your body is temporarily drained from ethernano. And when this container becomes empty, the ethernano from the atmosphere will slowly go container again and eventually become full. Though teleportation is sort of a big spell for me".
when Fallon had teleported away the Kal had broken the wall, Winter and Wildfire kept trying to rebuild to stand as a barrier when they came pouring through. looking around they saw people bloodied and on the ground not moving. "Winter! the Kal are winning, we have to leave!" Wildfire shouted over the noise "no! we still can win." Winter tossed away an oncoming Kal with a vine and patched a tear in the wall only to be broken again in a matter of seconds "know what Wildfire? i think you're right"
"god Winter. you're stubborn as a yak. FALL BACK!!!" Wildfire shouted as their bashed and broken friends bolted, hobbled, bobbed, walked and dashed to the forest, the Kal following close behind as screams cut through the air when they were caught and cut down from behind. "Winter, we have to find Fallon, Kabel and the other guy." WIldfire ducked as something whizzed above her head
Kirito was a lost as he had been when he first walked into the forest. Sure, he could smell amazingly well and all but since Fal had teleported, he couldn't exactly smell her at all He sighed and flew above the clouds and looked to see that it was alright getting dark. "Great, now that I left those two alone and all of the others to fight off the Kal, I'm just standing here doing nothing." He sighed with annoyance and then
remembered he needed to head east, or that's what Fallon had told him. :: Meanwhile, back in the forest, Fallon and Kabel are talking together about what to do next:: Fallon sighed "This is pretty far off from where we were earlier. A good 8 miles away. That's all I could muster before you made us fall out of the sky. " She said to Kabel, feeling slightly annoyed before stopping "Wait, you called me Fallon earlier, how did you know that?" She asked him with suspicion in her eyes.
"Winter *gasp* Winter, wait *huff* wait up." Wildfire stumbled through the darkening forest, they had ran all the way to where they were now without stopping. Winter stopped a worried to the point of panic look on her face "Wildfire! shush, the forest is against us now. and the Kal are after us. we have to keep..." she trailed off as she heard voices Wildfire stopped talking too and listened, a boy and a girl were close by & from the sound of it, discussing something important they crept closer
Just then Fallon heard someone crash through the bushes behind kabel. She put her finger to her lips as a quieting gesture before crouching down and then moving her right hand, like she was casting something. A second later a high pitched yell came, followed by a girl running to them, hands to her ears. "Make it stop!" She yelled in pain. Fallon's eyes widen when she realized it was Wildfire. She immediately moved her right arm, making it make an invisible line. All of a sudden Wildfire stopped yelling in pain. "I'm so sorry, ." Fallon said, with worry in her tone. Wildfire looked at her like she was crazy. "That spell I just did....it's I made up, it's called split. It's a simple spell which I made which causes the victim to feel extremely horrible pain in their head, like their brain is splitting into two. " Fallon then looked at wildfire with concern. "I'm really sorry, I had no clue it was you."
Kabel stumbled against a tree, and had fallen in surprise when Wildfire came. He sat up, coughing. "Wild *cough* mm. Wildfire, what are *ack* what the heck are you doing here?" He stood up unsteadily against a tree, breathing hard. "What happened?" He glanced at Fallon, who seemed as confused as him.
Fallon sighed "It's one of the easiest spells I can do in defense. it's called split. It's a simple spell which I made which causes the victim to feel extremely horrible pain in their head, like their brain is spliting into two." Fallon's eyes began to tear up "I'm so sorry Wildfire, I really didn't mean to, I just thought you were an enemy." Fallon then remembered something. She looked at Kabel and his legs. "I don't know if I can fix those....but I actually think I know someone who does."
"So you have stated." He looked down at his legs. "In all honesty, I've gotten used to not having lower legs. Makes running much easier, and also I fit into tinier places. Oh! And I can do cool ghost-y float-y things with my stone n stuff." He coughed again, and noticed there was another cruiser in the sky, dropping more landing craft and spitting more scout drones. "We should probably get going..."
after the splitting head had stopped she stood up and glared at Fallon "at least you didn't get Winter. hi kabel good to see you're up now we gotta hurry. they slaughtered us and i don't know who's left." shouting and crashing trees sounded behind them "ukmm ya good idea" and takes off "follow me! or Winter." who face palms and comments to Kabel "you two are perfect for eachother" and runs after her
Kabel tilted his head at her, confused, and then ducked as a log shot over him, which was really weird but whatever. he ran after Wildfire, although her winding around trees and various obstacles coupled with his STUPID SIDE were making it quite difficult. "where exactly aer we going?" he shouted over the din.
Fallon ran after the three but stopped for a second to look behind her. She half hopped to see that other guy pop up... His name was something like Kiro, kirio? It was weird, every time she thought of him, her mind went blank. It was like something wouldn't let her remember him, and it was the same for everything else...expect for Kabel and Wildfire.
Kabel nearly ran into Fallon but stopped just short. He turned around to see what she was looking at, then looked back at her, then back, and back again once more. "Come on!!" He said at last, running past and tugging on her arm a bit. He didn't like the noises come from back there. Besides, the Kid was enough of a madman/wizard that he'd be fine. "Come on!!!!"
Fallon blinked, remembering they had been running in the first place. "Okay." She said and started to run after him.
Wildfire crashed into Winter's back "oww! hey what the... oh crahp." Wildfire stood up "oh hello!! i was hoping you'd stop on bye." a girl called from ontop of a bear's back "Winter! you're back, oh how wonderful. Wildfire, long time no see, or. short time no see. hahaha!" the girl laughed "now where's your friend....Kabel was it?" she look over them into the forest "oh i believe that's them now. wouldn't want to miss the family reunion!" she laughed maniacally as Winter and Wildfire scowled
Fallon ran up to where Wildfire and Winter where, only to stop short a couple yard away to see the girl on the bear. She glanced at Wildfire to see her scowling. Fallon looked at the two and then looked around, she had a feeling someone was closing around them. She saw Kabel slowly run up to where she was. She glanced at where Wildfire, Winter, and the girl on the bear were and then quietly asked label "Who is the girl on the bear?"
Kabel's eyes went wide. "No... no, no... no, no, no no no no NONONONO!!!" He backed into a tree, and was staring at the girl on the bear. It was that Pyro kid, the one who had obliterated his legs, who had strung him up in thorns... the one who nearly killed him. He was clutching his side, but he tried his best to look menacing. He waved his arm at her. "Back! Back!! I can and will hurt you, and don't think I won't!!!!!" He hated that face, and since it was the first one he'd seen since crashing to the surface, it was always there to remind him of the pain.
Fallon looked at Kabel in surprised. She then glanced at the girl on the bear who looked as though she hadn't noticed her yet. "She's an emery..." Fallon said, thinking quietly. In a split second she was challenged with two good idea. She could either wait to see what would happen, or she could cast a spell. The exact same spell she had cast on Wildfire earlier. Fallon felt like her head was going to exploded with all the confusion going on when she saw a shadow appear above the girl on the bear
Kirito grinned and plummeted straight down at the girl below her. the girl didn't even realize what was happening before kirito's fist was on fire and he came crashing down on top of her. A big la-boom sounded and a ball of smoke filled the air, making it hard to see. After a couple of seconds, and the smoke cleared, the girl was laying unconscious on the ground, along with the bear on the ground. Kirito was grinning and said "I hope you guys didn't miss me."
Wildfire was shocked when Kabel came out and started to 'no' himself adn was even more amused when he tried to make himself look big mean and terrifying, Pyro also found it funny and started cackling, but making no noise. Kirito came crashing down and what looked to be Pyro was lying on the ground face in the dirt "Bravo, oh and hello Kabel, missed me much?" Winter and Wildfire cursed to themselves and glanced up to see the grinning maniacal smile of the impish Pyro "and you!" she said motioning
Kirito turned to see the girl and looked at her, his eyebrow only slightly arching with surprise. "Right, I knocked her down, she comes back up."he sighed"This is what happens when I help other people out." he said, the last part mostly to himself. He then walked over to Fallon picked her up like she was nothing and started to walk away. "We're leaving, I'm not letting you get almost killed again." :: Fallon shook her head and and disappeared for a second before reappearing a few feet from Kirito Kirito "great job on the illusion clone." she grinned as the image of her on the ground began to flicker, a log replacing it instead "yes marvelous show. jolly good too. anyhoo, Raging River and the Kal have been looking for you, all of you in fact. and they've agreed to wipe me from their records in exchange for you." she jumped down as the bear came lumbering forward snarling "oh and yes, don't try your mind trick, it won't work on me. we're kind of the same you and i." she smiled
Kirito. "yea, uh no. I mean I have a feeling I should trust and all but no, Kabel and Wildfire need help, and I'm staying so there." She told him.;; Kirito put his hand on his head and sighed "You're such a pain." he glanced at the girl who the others kept calling Pyro and smirked. "You think you're all tough huh, well I doubt it." He then sighed "and his fist turned on fire "Come near me or anyone else here...." he said, a dark look in his eyes "And I'll burn you to a crisp."
Pyro attempted to put her arm around Fallon "yes yes. now then, shall we get on with the family reunion?" she vaulted onto the bear's back again and smiled down on them "Wildfire," Winter hissed in between her teeth "remember that trick that we used to do to torment the Elders?" Wildfire smiled "the one where i light the world up? how could i forget!" they both smiled
Pyro grinned "ok! gladly, but how can you burn me... when i'm everywhere?" she jumped down and started to walk towards him while others of her kept popping up around her. Pyro surrounded him and grinned all talking at once "i learned this trick from a friend." they smiled and laughed as a vine came crashing down burnin up as it went and eliminating half of them "yep! love that one" Wildfire and Winter smiled
Kirito groaned "Great, geez, it's like fallon but more of her, and ones with attitude." He said, grumbling to himself. fallon looked up with a confused look on her face "What do you mean, she's like me but with a different attic-" she started to say but Kirito cut her off "Never mind, you wouldn't get it." he said while he started to walk is way through the crowd of Pryos, burning each one he touched. "It might get a bit too hot over here but oh well. "
Wildfire was about to say something before he burned them "wait! dont...do........that........ too late." every time Kirito burned one Pyro, two more popped up around him, all laughing maniacally "uhh, ya. hey! can you do like a heat wave thing? that'll probably eliminate the illusions leaving Pyro standing." Winter looked the Pyros "might work, but if it doesn't then we'll have twice as many."
Kirito sighed, he was slightly par annoyed now. "Is you say so." He said and he stood still for a second before a ball of fire came from him, encircling him, growing taller and bigger by the second. "Surprisingly, I'm finding this a bit fun. Though, I'm sort of hungry now." He said while the ball of fire around him got bigger. It was about 25 ft tall and 15 feet wide when he released it, spreading like wildfire in a matter of seconds. Smoke crowded around them and it was hard to see for a few seconds before it cleared, leaving just one pyro still left barely standing.
Kabel was very, very confused. First, the kid comes out of nowhere, kills Pyro, who turns out not to be dead, then suddenly she's everywhere, and so is the kid. Then he blew up-- leaving Kabel with barely the time to turn his legs into a shield-- and now there's one Pyro. He groaned, sitting on the ground, dazed. "Someone... please tell me... what... just happened..." he rubbed his forehead with his palms, and stood up shakily against the trees. "Remind me why I hang out with you buffoons." He said, stumbling over to where everyone was generally gathered, clutching his side still. He figured he should really add a new rag, but the old ones were kinda pinning his shirt to him, and besides he preferred to keep that on.
Kirito grinned, "Well, I just blew some one up, and I'm just getting started." he said and then glanced over at Pyro, who was having difficultly standing up. "As for why you hang out with us, I have no clue, to be fair I really didn't have a choice because miss-I-want-to-be-stupidly-brave-and-try-to-help-out." he said, pointing at Fallon who replied "hey, I'm not stupid!"
"girls, girls you're both pretty. can we get on to business now? thank you." Winter stepped forward "Fallon, Pyro's power is basically illusions. oddly enough for some reason you can't use your power against her like you did with me and Wildfire. STAY DOWN YOU WORTHLESS HOG!!" the last comment was directed to Pyro who was now encased in thorny vines. Wildfire grinned "ok i can take care of her" motioned to Pyro who was laughing again "SHADDUP OR I'LL CUT YOUR TONGUE OUT!" and took a knife out of
her boot "I mean it Pyro. shut up." that only made Pyro laugh harder "Winter, can i cut her tongue out yet?? PLEASE!!! i'm sick and tired of hearing that laughter every single second of existence." she stepped towards her but Winter blocked her path "nope. not yet." Winter glanced back at the purple faced Pyro and muttered "sadly"
Fallon though for a moment before a spark of inspiration went into her mind. It was risky but it might work. Fallon then spoke quietly to Kirito who's expression slowly changed from boredom, to interest, to slight shock. Kirito nodded "it could work." He then grinned. He lit his fist of fire. "We have a better idea. What happened...if I mealted her brain. Not all of it, just some parts. Actually, think of it more like a rewiring. That way, I can change her brain so that she only responds to us
And when then won't give the Kal any information if she escapes." He said. Fallon nodded "Ican telepathically so that way, I can guide him where to rewire the brain." She then added so quietly it was hard to hear "can also, umm, sort of read.....uh never i'll tell it later." She said
Kabel leaned against a tree, an eyebrow cocked at Fallon's last statement, which the others didn't seem to have caught. Could she really read minds? He tried to think of something really stupid, and ended up thinking "THE SPRINKLE GOD IS DISPLEASED WITH THE POTATO PEOPLE AND IS RAINING HIS GUMMY WRATH OVER THEIR HORRIFIED FACES" over and over again as a test. But he was too distracted by what they were doing to look at Fallon and see if it worked. "You uh... you guys... sure... yknow what you're messin with?" He looked from Fallon to the kid, Andy back again. "You guys mess somethin up, you're gonna kill her, or at least the Pyro as we know her. I mean, I hate her as I hate Hell, though not sure there's a difference," he muttered quietly. "But I still don't think that's right. The human mind is more complex than anything we know, and not even the Kal figured it out completely. I very much doubt a few kids could fare much better. Besides." He pointed up. "We have more pressing matters than revenge. Just bag her up and let's get a move on. I can make a box but someone else'll have to lug her. Or I could make a pseudodudo do it for us." He looked at the faces. "A rock guy, golem, guardian statue, whatever you want to call them. I can do that."
Fallon cringed and put her hand to her forehead. Geez, she thought, clearly someone is thinking way to hard. What a big slip up. She looked Kabel and noticed he was too distracted at the moment to notice. She sighed. Who in their right mind would think up of stuff like potato people? ::meanwhile, Kirito is having a hard time bothering to listen to a word Kabel says. "Uh yeah...do whatever." He said, while thinking of fire on a stick. *he eats fire a lot.*
Winter stared at them, looking from Fallon to Kirito and back again. Wildfire looked at Winter excitedly "can we? please!!" she pleaded looking rather like an overexcited puppy.
To be continued
