Chapter 2
•Aberto
This spell presumably opens objects such as doors and windows.
•Accio
A summoning charm that sends any object directly to the spell-caster. Can be used over long distances.
•Afflicto (Bone-Breaking Curse)
If successfully landed, wherever the curse lands the victim will suffer a broken bone. This is a very effective means of quickly disabling an opponent and the counter-curse Brackium Emendo can easily restore a broken bone to health.
•Aguamenti
Produces a jet of water from the caster's wand.
•Alarte Ascendare
This spell is used to shoot the target object into the air
•Alohomora (Unlocking Charm)
Unlocks and opens doors and windows that are not protected by magic. It is also able to open doors locked by the Locking Spell (Colloportus).
•Anapneo
A charm that eliminates any blockage within a person’s airway allowing them to breathe.
•Animum Pulsare
Stabilizes a heartbeat.
•Aqua Eructo
Creates a large torrent of water, mainly to put out large fires.
•Ardor Glacio (Flame-Freezing Charm)
Makes flames tickle the caster, instead of burn or hurt them.
•Arania Exumai
Used to blast back acromantulas or other large spiders.
•Arresto Momentum
Used to decrease the velocity of a moving target
•Arundos Avolares
Causes arrows to issue from the caster's wand.
•Avifors
Transforms the target into a bird
•Avis
This charm creates a flock of birds from the caster's wand. When coupled with Oppugno, it can be used offensively
•Baubillious
The exact effects of the spell are unknown, though it presumably is of damaging nature and it produces a bolt of white light from the tip of the wand.
•Bombarda
Provokes a small explosion
•Bombarda Maxima
Creates a large explosion capable of removing entire walls
•Brachiabindo
Binds the limbs tightly. Countercurse is Emancipare.
•Brackium Emendo
If used correctly, it is claimed that this spell will heal broken bones
•Calvario
This spell causes the target's hair to fall out.
•Cantis
This spell causes the target to burst uncontrollably into song.
•Carpe Retractum
Produces a supernatural rope from the caster's wand, which will pull a target toward the caster.
•Cave Inimicum
Conjures up a shield that keeps the caster hidden from others. Those who are on the other side of the shield will not be able to see them, hear them or, if the spell is well-casted, smell them.
•Colloportus
A charm to magically seal doors. This charm can be easily broken by ‘alohomora’.
•Confringo (Blasting Curse)
Causes anything that the spell meets to explode in flames.
•Confundo (Confundus Charm)
Causes the victim to become confused, befuddled, overly forgetful and prone to follow simple orders without thinking about them.
•Contrita Specularma (Glass to Sand)
A sharp, forceful downwards diagonal movement. Turns glass into grains of sand.
