written by Adeline Black
Hogwarts and Ilvermorny had never gotten along, so this exchange program could either make or break their temporary friendship. (I'll be updating it as I go)

Chapter 2
Lily watched as the Ilvermorny girl walked out of the Headmistress's office, dragged her huge case behind her. Professor McGonagall looked tired. She was probably already regretting this whole deal. Lily had some experience with Americans, as her aunt and uncle had moved there a few years ago. They had quickly lost their dignified British accents, and had become just like all of the other blathering idiot yankees. Or at least that was what her parents said. She hadn't seen them since they had left their London wizarding neighborhood-only heard what her parents said when they though she was asleep. I agreed to do this, she thought over and over again. I agreed to do this.
"Hello Lily. Are you ready to go?" Asked the disgruntled professor.
"Yes-but I still have to let my owl Hestia go. She would rather fly." said Lily, yanked out of her thoughts.
"Well, do that now. Use one of my windows-I have to go drop her" she gestured to the American "off with her guide."
"I'll be ready when you come back." Lily promised. The two walked off.
Lily made her way into Headmistress's office. The huge room was looking almost empty. They had been back at school for a week now, but the professor still hadn't unpacked all of her wizarding instruments. She dragged her trunk over to the window and lifted up her cage.
"Wait for me at the Yankee school, ok?" she asked. "I'll be there before you. Just fly around until you find me."
Hestia looked a little confused, but hooted once and flew out the window with the letter stating she was the exchange student's owl. Lily closed up her cage, and brought her luggage over to the fireplace. Soon enough Headmistress was back, and they headed into the fire.
