A basilisk is bred by being hatched in a chicken egg under a toad. It is a giant serpent possessing dangerous, dark powers. Sometimes a Parselmouth can control this beast even though it can't be controlled. It is extremely green, but people awe upon it. It has highly venomous fangs, but the most dangerous part about this beast is it's deadly yellow eyes. If someone even meets eyes with it, they will suffer instant death. Though people can be petrified by not meeting direct eye contact with the beast. Examples might be seeing it's eyes through a mirror. It is illegal to breed this beast, but the good news is that nobody has seen one for four hundred years.
