Chapter Six: Akirago and I Join the Battle
Chapter 6
I reached the bottom of the hill in little time. Amillya had beaten me down and was now trying to get a motorcycle to start by hijacking the wires. I focused more on the horse. She let me approach her, and when I ran a hand along her flank, I realized it was smooth. Not a trace of her ever having been enflamed. Except, of course, half of her was still lit up. She laid her head down near the ground to bow at me, and I took that as a good sign.
I was right. Her head went between my legs before jerking up, throwing me onto her back. It felt natural to be on her, even though I’d never met this horse before in my life. And then something else happened that I recognized.
The light blue wisp from earlier was back, wrapping around my waist, purring into my skin. The horse turned her head to the left, and Amillya smirked when she saw the same thing the horse did. And so did I.
A tall woman was walking towards me, a white dress dragging along the ground, followed by hair that weaved around the whole stables and met the woman again. Reddish-brown hair with a black streak through the bangs. She had several scars that I recognized, one over her right eye, one on her shoulder, hundreds on her left arm. Scars on her left arm that matched mine exactly. And I was willing to bet her hip would too. Her eyes glowed brighter than I’d ever seen, but they reflected my soul. Lime green surrounding golden yellow. The yellow turning into the green. They were some of the most beautiful things I’d ever seen. Three other wisps floated around her too, a red one and two white ones. The red and one of the white ones entwined together, just like the green and blue ones had around Amillya.
She came closer and closer until I could feel her breath upon my face. She bent down to hug me and I found myself hugging tightly back. The wisps, all four of them, stabbed us both through the heart, connecting us completely. Akirago moved a strand of bangs from my hair, whispering in my ear.
“I . . . m i s s e d . . . b e i n g . . . o n e . . . w h o l e . . . b e i n g . . . . I ‘ m . . . g l a d . . . t o . . . h a v e . . . f o u n d . . . y o u . . .” I could feel her smile against my cheek before kissing it. I knew, somehow, that my eyes had started glowing purple as hers did the same, and so did the horse’s. She melted into my being, making my hair glow golden and grow to my ankles, changing the color of it, brightening my eyes, giving me her scars. I loved the feeling of being one with her again. Of being whole.
And I could hear her voice in my head, telling me what to say, urging me on. I drew the Fouquet Mark in the air, claiming this horse as my own.
“I, the Goddess Akirago of Gaming and Welcome…” I started, realizing I was speaking in her voice now. In my true voice. “... Do hereby call upon you, spirit with no home, to be my weapon and serve me now and forever. You, with the name of Seshuki, serve me as my Fouquet. Together, we fight our elements. Come to me, Seshuki. Show me your true form!”
The horse whinnied, but I didn’t hear the call over a young girl’s voice in my mind. I heard a girl no more than eight years old.
“Shall we bulldoze them, Master?” The horse turned back to look at me, the fire in her eyes returning to their normal color.
“I think we shall, Seshu. Let’s go.” I smirked as Amillya, or Amzi as I could call her now, finally started the motorbike. We rode up the hill, running over hundreds of hell beasts. Now, it wasn’t just hellhounds. Ghouls had joined the fun, giving us more to smash.
I enjoyed killing them all, but I was aiming for one target in particular. I found him quickly and picked him up by the neck with one hand as Amzi took care of the rest.
“So, Rabnahiaem, you think it’s funny to come after my baby form while I’m gone? You think you can take me? Go ahead, Weakling. Try!” I glared at him as Seshuki blew smoke out of her nose. I squeezed the neck of the demon I held until his eyes rolled back, revealing green underneath. But I didn’t stop there. Oh no, I didn’t stop. I kept choking him, kept letting my anger grow until he disintegrated into a pile of dust, a dead ghost of what he used to be.
The battle was won.
Amzi pulled up next to me, hellhound blood dripping on her cheek.
“That was fun.” She remarked, giggling a little at the pile of dust on the ground. “Best Sweet 16 Ever.” I couldn’t help but agree.
