D. Parts of the Human Body

Chapter 8
D1 (Head)
tp || Head
Magical Uses, Meanings, and Pairings: Commonly signifies Decapitation Curse, though can also imply a lesser spell that is an ancient precursor to the Severing Charm. Can also serve to indicate actions associated with one’s head, such as thought.

D4 (Eye)
iri || Eye
Magical Uses, Meanings, and Pairings: Can indicate spells that have to do with sight, including but not limited to: Blinding Curse, Mirage Hex, or Conjunctivitis Curse; or alongside A5 to imply invisibility of an object.
Anecdotes/Comments: Not always magical. Sometimes indicates a need to be alert or look further than the surface. Or, sometimes, is just part of the phonetic level of the spell.

D8 (Eye enclosed)
n/a || Turah, Beautiful
Magical Uses, Meanings, and Pairings: Used in love and beauty spells for both the living and the dead.

D9 (Eye weeping)
n/a || Weep
Magical Uses, Meanings, and Pairings: Not sure if our experiences are typical, but we’ve run across this one on two separate occasions when we accidentally triggered some Nightmare Hexes and a particularly hard to dispel Decapitation Curse.
Anecdotes/Comments: Watch your duff if you see this one. Can be used in conjunction with something particularly nasty.

D23 (Mouth with three lines)
n/a || ¾
Magical Uses, Meanings, Pairings: Unnamed curse(s) that involves internal bleeding.
Anecdotes/Comments: Another case where the Muggle definition has been clouded by their limited experiences after curse-breakers have cleared them out. Not pleasant.

D28 (Two arms)
k3 || Soul
Magical Uses, Meanings, Pairings: Because of ancient Egyptian beliefs regarding the soul, is often used in very potent and prestigious magic. Some examples include spells to guide the deceased to the Afterlife, love spells, and person-specific curses. Another use in generation-spanning curses has been put forward as possible, but is yet unproven.

D49 (Fist)
n/a || Grasp, Seize
Magical Uses, Meanings, Pairings: Strangling Hex.

D51 (Horizontal finger)
n/a || Any actions related to fingers (point, touch, etc.)
Magical Uses, Meanings, Pairings: Often used in conjunction with R21 in order to indicate a Touch-Trigger Curse. Additional clarification may be provided, such as indication of what item needs to be touched.
