“Oh, look at me! I’m Renner and I’m rich and fabulous!” Aderan mocked, dramatically and excessively brushing his hand through his close-cut brown hair.
Jenna smiled slightly, but she was still annoyed. Roy was downright grinchy. All crossed arms and scowling.
“Oh, lighten up, you two. We can’t do anything about that prick, so just move on.” Aderan continued. “Besides, he didn’t get all the candy.”
He tossed a chocolate frog at Jenna and waved one in Roy’s face.
“Your right, Aderan. This is fifth year. Who cares about him?” Jenna ripped open the box and grabbed the frog as it leapt out of the cardboard.
“I wish some of the teachers could see what he does. Just once.” Roy muttered.
Aderan sighed. He sat down next to Roy and swung his arm around his shoulder. “Come on, mate. Today’s the first day. Not even. It’s the train ride. Have a pumpkin pasty. Eat some fruit fritters. We’ve still got a long train ride ahead.”
Roy frowned. Jenna smirked and went to squish in on the other side of their Gryffindor friend. “Come on, Roy-Roy. Mummy wants you to smile like good little boy.” she mimicked Roy’s mother.
“Yes, Roy-Roy,” Aderan caught on. “Too skinny. Mummy wants you to eat your chocolate.”
“Come on, Roy-Roy.”
“Mummy says.”
“Stars above, you two are infuriating!” Roy shouted, doing his best to sound mad, but he couldn’t help the smile that grew on his face as he swatted his friends’ hands away and moved to the opposite side.
They all broke down in laughs, imitating Mrs. Rockerrad.
“Oh, Roy-Roy, fetch the sugar for Mummy, will you?”
“Oh, baby Roy-Roy, why don’t you let Mummy do your hair?”
Roy pinched the bridge of his nose still laughing. “Oh, you don’t know how obnoxious that gets!”
Jenna and Aderan looked at each other. Simultaneously, they said, “Oh, Mummy knows, Roy-Roy. Mummy knows!”
And they were all on the floor of the compartment until their stomachs hurt from laughing.
“Fifth year.” Aderan wheezed.
“Fifth year.” Roy agreed.
Jenna smiled even though her cheeks hurt. They lay side by side, feet resting on one of the seats. “I can’t wait.”

Aderan took a huge bite of mashed potatoes and grinned at Jenna. “I mith thith fud!” he tried to say through the food.
“Ew! Care to swallow and try it again in English?” Jenna said, looking away.
“I said,’I miss this food!’” Aderan said after swallowing. He picked up a large turkey leg. “My parents are vegetarians and Ariah is gluten-free.”
He took a large bite of turkey too. Jenna rolled her eyes and cut a piece of chicken from the platter in front of her. Then she used a fork and a knife and made a great show of eating it like a civilized person. “Ariah is third year now, right?”
Aderan nodded.
“How do you put up vith him?” asked Kally Kifferlinny who was sitting across from the two. “Aderan, you eat like a starwing person.”
Jenna shrugged. “Friends look past it.”
Kally smiled slightly. “Siblings as vell. Look at dis von.” She elbowed her twin brother Kriston, who looked like he was equally enjoying his meal.
He glanced over at her and frowned. “Vhat?”
“I said you eat like a starwing monkey. Postitiwly distgusting.” Kally said slower to her mostly deaf brother.
Kriston rolled his eyes. “Somevon made me miss breakvast dis morning.”
The blonde twins continued to argue, and at some point reverted to German.
“Good to know they haven’t changed.” Aderan whispered to Jenna before taking a large bite of something else. Jenna smiled and nodded, then looked past the Kifferlinny siblings and past the Ravenclaw table and found Roy.
He was chatting and laughing with his Gryffindor friends. He was pretty easy to distinguish by his white-blonde hair and general height. Hard to tell from his older brother Jason, though. The seven Rockerrad boys all looked exactly the same, much to the exasperation of teachers and visitors to the Rockerrad house.
Roy caught her eye and nodded, a smile on his face. She nodded back and continued to chat with the rest of her friends from Hufflepuff.
