The Strange Occurrences of Greidelshire
Chapter 2
My black-haired mid-forties aunt quickly ushered me into the house and nervously looked back into the street and closing the door. She relatched the door and locked it. She even took some liquid silver and poured it into a tube around the door.
"What's that for?" I asked, gesturing towards all the locks and silver.
"How could Eliza have sent you?!" Angelica said furiously. "You really have no idea about anything, do you?"
"Still have absolutely no idea what you're talking about," I said annoyed. "Where's Uncle John?"
"They took him," Angelica said in a frightening tone. "While we were sleeping they flew through the open window and took him." she rambled hysterically.
"Calm down," I said putting my hand on her shoulder. "Who took him?"
"The demons of Bald Mountain!" She whimpered. "They have glowing red eyes that see into your soul, sharp white teeth that could bite your arm off in one chomp, bat-like wings that could impale you, and most of all, they're all people who have died." She cried.
"What?!" I exclaimed. "That can't be true."
"It is. I'm so frightened I've only left my room to eat and just now to answer the door." She explained. We heard slow dragging footsteps upstairs and Angelica fell to the floor in fright. I draw my wand a bit nervous and go up three of the eighteen stairs.
I said, "Lumos." and the room lit up. All the doors of the second story were closed except for the one on the very end. I saw a figure move in the darkness and I dropped my wand in surprise. I quickly scrambled for it and frantically drag it. I re-light it and the figure is gone. "Lumos Solem!" I chanted and the room was lit up. I could now see the full details of the room. It was a guest bedroom with a night-stand on the left of the four poster bed. There was a window with intricately designed window that was open which hadn't been mere seconds before.
"Aunt Angelica," I said, my mouth dry. "I don't think the windows are stopping them."
