Chapter 2
The next three weeks flew by for Brice and before he knew it, Dumbledore was back to take him away from the prison. As they walked Dumbledore asks, "Ever travel by floo powder?"
"A couple times" responded Brice shyly.
"You don't have to be afraid of me, Brice. Trust me were going to be spending a lot of time together." Said Dumbledore.
Brice nodded, OK and they kept walking till the came to a stop by a small stone fireplace, covered in cobwebs. Dumbledore handed Brice a small pouch and Brice took a handful of the powder.
"Where to?" Asked Brice.
"Diagon alley of course!" Responded Dumbledore. And with that the tall wizard stepped in to the fireplace and said, in a clear, paced voice "Diagon Alley."
He was licked up by green flames and gone in an instant. Brice followed and was soon standing next to the headmaster. In front of them waiting was a humongous man in a moldy jacket with hundreds of bulging pockets.
"This is Hagrid" explained Dumbledore, "He will be taking you around Diagon Alley and helping you buy your school things."
Hagrid waved a big hand with a toothy grin across his face, obviously very excited.
"I'll be leaving you two to it then" and with that Dumbledore spun on the spot and dissapeared.
"Hiya er---uh whats yer name again?" Asked Hagrid awkwardly.
Brice couldn't help but laugh. "Its Brice." And for the first time in six years Brice just looked around and took in the world.
"Brice what?" Interrupted Hagrid.
"Just Brice, I don't have a last name. They er--- took it away from me."
"Oh..." Responded Hagrid clearly aware of the dead space between them. "Oops, almost forgot this." Said Hagrid suddenly, and handed Brice a letter. It was addressed to Brice, Azkaban, Middle of the North Sea, Cell 412001. "It uh---well they don't allow owls anymore so this is the best we could do." Explained Hagrid. But Brice wasn't listening to Hagrid he was ripping open his letter and reading through the list.

"Wow Hagrid! Where should we start?" Exclaimed Brice
"I'm almost as excited a you!" replied Hagrid, "This is the first time I get to help a first year shop for their school stuff! Dumbledore must really think I'm trustworthy." Announced Hagrid proudly.
"Right, well why don't we just go down the list?" Proposed Brice.
"Right" said Hagrid. And with that Hagrid led them down the cobble street to Madam Malkin's Robes For All Occasions.
"Welcome dearies" Said Madam Malkin as they walked in. "Hogwarts?"
"Ya I er--need a"
"I know what you need, don't you worry." Cut off Madam Malkin. She snapped her fingers and a tape measure started zooming around Brice moving to the length to various parts of Brice's body.
"That should do it." Announced Madam Malkin. She snapped again and the tape measure returned to the counter top. "One second hun" said Madam Malkin as she dissapeared through a door at the back of the store. When she came back her arms were full of Brice's robes, gloves, coat, and hat. She set it down on the counter and said "that will be three galleons, eleven sickles, and two knuts."
Brice looked back at Hagrid expecting him to pay for his cloths.
"I thought you had your money!" Exclaimed Hagrid.
Brice looked at Hagrid incredulously, "I just got out of Azkaban, where on earth would I get money from?"
"Why don't I hold these while you get you money" said madam Malkin politely as she tucked Brice's cloths under the counter.
Hagrid and Brice left the store and Hagrid led them to Gringotts Wizarding Bank. When they arrived they approached one of the goblins and Hagrid said, "I would like to make a withdrawal for Brice please."
"Does he have his key? questioned the goblin.
"Er--no but he's right here see."
"No key, no withdrawal. NEXT!" said the goblin rudely.
"Gee, sorry Brice."Said Hagrid quietly as they exited the bank.
"No, its ok Hagrid, its all good. Really!" Protested Brice.
"Well I guess we'll be a bit early, but they shouldn't mind, I'm sure they'll understand." Said Hagrid
"What are you talking about Hagrid?" Questioned Brice. "Who wont mind? Who is they?"
"Why your new family of course!" Smiled Hagrid. "You'll love them."
Although Brice had a million questions, he kept quiet as Hagrid led them out of Diagon Alley and into a dark pub Brice knew as the Leakey Cauldron. Once out on the street they walked about a block getting many strange stares and mutters. Hagrid stoppes next to a bike with a passenger cart on the side. Hagrid mounted the bike and gestured for Brice to get in the side cart.
"I'm too big to fit through the floo network" explained Hagrid.
Brice laughed but quickly realized Hagrid wasn't joking.
After a half an hour journey, of which Brice entertained himself by taking in the world around him and marveling at the tiny people and building below, they finally arrive. They landed in a clear field and pull up the the back porch. As Brice pulls off his helmet and unbuckles his seat belt he looks back up and sees staring back at him nine pairs of blue eyes and heads of flaming red hair.
