On the Hogwarts Express
Chapter 1
Platform 9 and 3/4. I give my parents one last bone-crushing hug and nervously join the excited crowd of 1st years leaping onto the waiting train. Now to find a compartment, I think anxiously wandering the corridors. In one a bunch of snide looking girls stare at me as if I'm a disease. In another, a boy is crooning over his snarling tabby cat. Finally, I sidle into a half empty one, dark and curious eyes peer out of a pale face. The girl peers at me for a few seconds, then resumes reading her book.
" What are you reading?" I inquire.
" A History Of Magic" She mumbles. Awkward silence...
" Whats your name?" I ask, immediately realising my mistake and expecting the worst.
" Gweneviere" She replies. " Oh and why do you ask so many questions?" I shrug,
" Well. Stop!" Gweneviere snaps. I gulp and shift away.
Hours pass, neither of us utter a word. Then, she speaks
" Looks like we've arrived" She says, mainly to herself. I peer out of the window, Hogwarts looms up in the distance. We pull on our robes and Gweneviere packs up the endless stacks of books into a weathered satchel. I take a long heaving breath before stepping onto the Hogwarts platform. I made it!
