FIG : Short Introductions

Chapter 46
Grows in dry, sunny areas. The fig tree is symbolic of governmental privileges, and is thus found in the hands of many Ministry of Magic workers, or other positions of authority in the workplace. Balance between masculinity and femininity is closely tied to the fig tree. What is strange about the fig tree is that it bears fruit before it bears leaves. (In Mark 11:12-14 Jesus curses a fig tree that has leaves but no fruit, for it held no fruits from its previous season, as it would be reasonable expected to do). The fig wand wood is wary of witches and wizards prone to hypocrisy, as hypocrisy was the reason the fig tree received a curse. Trees have a good memory, and don't like repeating history. Fig wands are great for transfiguration and healing.
