BLACKTHORN : Short Introductions

Chapter 42
Found in Europe and Western Asia. It is actually a bush, and not a tree, but is still sometimes used as a wood for wands. Great for those who cope with great dangers and hardships. Many Aurors and Dark witches and wizards alike will find themselves matched with a blackthorn wand. Gregorovitch once said that blackthorn "makes a strange, contradictory wand, as full of paradoxes as the tree that gave it birth, whose leaves and blossoms heal, and yet whose cut branches smell of death." These wands are suited to healing and cursing, and require an adept wizard to hold them. Mismanaged blackthorn wands may backfire. This wand is also known for being symbolic of purification and chastity.
