The Reputation We Don'T Deserve
Chapter 3
Let's be honest with ourselves for a moment.
Slytherin has a terrible reputation.
One that came from some incredibly horrific wizards and witches.
People that could put fear into someones very bones with just one look. Can this be useful to us? Of course.
However, it can do more harm then good. Have we not had our fair share of substantial students? Regulus Black for instance gave his life to help end one of the many horcruxes made my you know who. Or Severus Snape, who the chosen one states was "probably the bravest man I ever knew." And have I mentioned, the great and famous Merlin? Yes, you heard me correctly, Merlin himself was a Slytherin.
A lot of our reputation comes due to the fact that our founder was anti-muggle. He absolutely despised muggle born wizards and witches, and actually went so far as to attempt to murder them. This largely known fact falls back on us. Yet, I promise you, our ways have changed. I myself am muggle born, and I know many a talented witch and wizard in Slytherin that is also so.
So do not believe that our reputation defines us, for I assure you, it does not.
