"Bella! Come here!" A high pitched voice shrieked.
"What's wrong Cissy?" I yelled back.
"Look! What's that over there?"
"Fireworks!" Addie said, her voice filled with awe.
I watched as blue and gold sparks illuminated the night sky. Although I knew that this was not right, I couldn't make myself look away from the stunning sight.
With great difficulty, I turned away and said, "I think we should go back."
"Can we watch for just a little bit longer? Please?" Cissy begged, and how was I to resist those huge, blue, puppy dog eyes?
I sighed, "All right then. Just a few minutes more."
"Thank you, Bella," Cissy squealed, strangling me with a hug.
I turned to look at the fireworks once more, though I couldn't dismiss the lingering, ominous feeling I had.
