3rd year
"Hey! Whitby!" The whole corridor could listen to George Weasley calling Frances. He was with his twin, Fred Weasley, and they were approaching Frances, Lexie and Ginny. In fact, they were all friends now. The twins met Frances and Lexie because of Ginny, of course, and they all gathered along pretty well because of their close personalities. And also, because Fred and George were always making jokes about Noah, Frances' brother...
"Have you heard about the Yule Ball? McGonagall just told us about it! She even taught us how to dance" Fred started.
"Well, at least she tried" George added amused.
"Wait. McGonagall taught the Gryffindors how to dance?" Frances asked surprised.
"Yeah, why?"
"Does it mean Snape is going to teach us?" The entire group started laughing. It was hilarious.
"Wait, wait, guys. Can we just take a second to picture Professor Severus Snape on his black robes, teaching the Slytherins how to dance?" George could barely breathe between laughs.
"Maybe he will choose his favourite student." Ginny said.
"Whitby, be careful, I bet your little lovely brother wouldn't like having his sister dancing with the only Professor in Hogwarts that doesn't give him an O." George added laughing.
"It's easy to get on his nerves, slow down, Whitby." Fred joined his siblings.
"Very funny, Weasleys." Frances said although she couldn't help but smile a bit too. "Anyway, who are you guys going with?"
"I'm going to invite Ella Collingwood." George said with confidence. "You know the one with dark hair and a nice... back"
"And I'm going with Angelina Johnson." Fred said and then he turned to his brother: "We, my brother, are going to have some great fun!" He said with smirk, giving George a high-five.
"What about you, Ginny?" George asked. "Did Potter invited you? In your dreams?"
"No one invited me." Ginny said blushing a little. She hated when her brothers made jokes about her having a crush on Harry.
"Ginny, if you want you can come with me and we'll watch Lexie dancing with Draco yeah?" Frances smiled trying to make her friend feel better.
"Actually, Draco is going with Pansy." Lexie said coldly with a neutral expression.
"Oh, Lexie I'm sorry really." Whitby said breaking the awkward silence in the group.
"Don't be. That way I won't need to use a bloody dress" She replied.
"Lexie, be positive. If Potter didn't invite our sister and Malfoy didn't invite you, then it's pretty obvious. They're going together!!" George said happily and everyone laughed a bit.
"Everyone knows that between Potter and Pansy, our friend Malfoy won't waste a chance to be with The Boy Who Lived." Fred continued. "Ginny, you have a really strong competitor."
"Oh, it would be so beautiful! In the middle of the dance, Draco and Harry kiss and they live happily ever after."
"Pansy should watch out. If she thought I was a threat she sure isn't ready for Potter!" Lexie joked clearly in a better mood.
At that moment, Malfoy walked past them and looked at the twins with despise. Then he turned to Lexie who just rolled her eyes. No one said a word.
"Girls, we have to go." George talked loud enough so Malfoy could hear but he immediately lowered his voice. "If we stay here much longer, he will end up with a broken nose." he muttered. The girls said goodbye and both George and Fred left.
"Really, Vulchanov? Weasleys? I thought you were smarter." Draco said.
"Oh, I am. That's why I know you're being an asshole." Lexie answered quickly and gave him an ironic smile as she turned around with Frances and Ginny by her side, leaving Malfoy alone still thinking of a good comeback.

"Vulchanov, come on! I want to show you something, move your ass." Draco said, clearly annoyed, trying to convince Lexie to follow him. The things between them were now solved.
"No." She answered laughing. She was finding the whole situation quite funny. "You can either beg or use Imperius on me." The girl challenged him.
"Don't try me." Lexie seemed to be thinking about his words for a minute.
"I won't." She finally got up, getting closer to the blonde-haired boy with a smirk. "Go on. Show me what you were so excited to." She rolled her eyes a little and they started to walk.
"Here we are." Draco said when they got to the Quidditch pitch.
"Draco, I'm really sorry to tell you but I've already seen the Quidditch pitch a few times..."
"I know you did! But I want to teach you how to fly." He explained riding the broom.
"Oh, you mean fly..." She started to talk while riding another broom. "Like this?"
"Are you really doing this? Again?"
"I'm so very sorry I'm superior to you in every possible aspect, Malfoy." She laughed as she flied perfectly.
"You're so fucking annoying, God!"
"Is your ego that fragile, Malfoy?" Lexie smirk.
"I feel like you're the only one who feels the need to constantly prove herself, no?" Malfoy tried to look annoyed but his voice had a provocative tone and she knew he was just teasing her. "You know, Pansy is just like you when it comes to that..."
"What the hell did you just say? How dare you comparing me with her?" Lexie landed and put the broom down, starting to walk away.
"Wait up, Vulchanov, where are you going?" Draco went after her.
"Running away from your bullshit."
"Touched a nerve, uh?"
"YOUR MOM TOUCHED A NERVE!" Lexie shouted and finally looked at him. Draco could swear he felt the anger waves hitting his body. That made him laugh.
"C'mon, I'm joking, don't get all bitchy..."
"Your mom is all bitchy."
"You already used that one, you know?"
"Remember that time when I actually cared? Funny... Me neither!" Lexie was determined to stay mad at him.
"Bloody hell, I was just kidding, can't you take a joke?" He rolled his eyes.
"I don't like being compared to Pansy and you fucking know that. You can leave now"
"Your mom can leave." And suddenly, Draco kissed Lexie. They felt energy running on their bodies as their lips shyly touched, a new feeling for both of them. Draco had kissed other girls but this was different. She was different.
"Come to the Yule Ball with me." Draco said, after a few minutes of silence.
"What?"
"Just say you'll come already."
"Okay, okay. Yes, I'll go with you." She finally replied and Draco smirked.
"Thank you."
"You're a terrible kisser, by the way. Just thought you should know." Lexie teased, laughing.
"You know I'm not." He smirked again and she punched is arm softly. "And Lexie?"
"Yes?"
"No, nothing. Forget it." Lexie decided to let that topic die and didn't make any questions. When they entered in the common room, it was empty. They sat together and Lexie rested her head on his shoulder. "So romantic of you." He laughed.
"Shut up or I'll use an Unforgivable Curse on you." She threated.
"I'd like to watch you try." He joked looking at her as she rolled her eyes.
While Lexie was with Draco, Frances and Ginny were studying in the library. "I think I got it, Frances!" Ginny said with enthusiasm, and then she did a transfiguration spell that turned a quill into a bird.
"That was awesome!" Frances congratulated Ginny.
"Well, can you help me with Potions now? I'm awful with the effects of the Wiggenweld Potion."
"Sure! But I need to get my notes and Potions stuff."
"Let's go then." They headed to the Slytherin common room. When they entered, they couldn't believe what they were seeing. Lexie and Draco were kissing! Frances cleared her throat:
"Excuse us, but are we interrupting something?" They quickly pulled way and looked at each other.
"I'll go find Crabbe and Goyle. Can we talk later?" Draco asked Lexie, trying to ignore the two girls.
"Sure..." She said biting her lip nervously. Draco left the common room leaving Lexie alone with her friends. "So... Hey."
"Hey? You were kissing and you say hey?" Frances questioned.
"What else happened?"
"Nothing special." She answered trying to avoid explanations.
"You better start talking, right now." Ginny and Frances said in unison.
"Ugh, fine." She gave up. "He took me to the Quidditch pitch and he tried to teach me how to fly – which I already knew – and we kissed, he asked me to go with him to the Yule Ball and we came here and... well you saw what happened next."
"So you're dating?" Frances asked.
"Shut up Frances, wait a second. You are going with Malfoy to The Yule bloody Ball?" Ginny was euphoric. "What happened with Pansy?"
"I don't know, to be honest. He just told me to forget about her so yeah."
"SO ARE YOU DATING?" Frances asked again, as excited as Ginny.
"I don't know. Probably." Lexie hesitated.
"OH MY GOD LEXIE! I'm so happy for you!" Ginny said.
"You're going with Draco to the Yule Ball! That means that now I'm going with Ginny and we will watch you dancing with him."
"Yeah, I haven't told you yet but Neville invited me." Ginny talked anxiously. "He talked to Hermione first but she has a pair already so he invited me and I said yes."
"Oh... So I'm going alone, heh?" Frances said, her smile vanishing. Then she saw the worried looks on her friends' faces. "Don't worry!! I can steal a dance or two with your pairs." She said with a little giggle.
The days passed by and the ball night came. Draco was sitting in a sofa of the Slytherin common room, the same one in where they were kissing a few days ago, waiting for Lexie. The common room was empty and he was concentrated on the fireplace. Suddenly, he heard someone coming down from the dorms. He turned around to look at the stairs, and there she was. Lexie was wearing a beautiful dark green dress and looked at him smiling.
"You almost look good." He said teasingly.
"You're beautiful too." Lexie answered laughing and they kissed. "Shall we?"
They made their way to the Great Hall and Lexie spotted Ginny and Neville in the middle of the crowd "Want to go and say hi?" She asked Draco.
"Hm, no. You go and say hi, I'll wait here."
"Okay, I'll be back in a second, I promise." Lexie said kissing his cheek and walked towards Ginny and Neville.
"Hey, Ginny. Hey, Neville. You guys look great!!" Lexie said smiling.
"Yeah, thank you..." Neville thanked shyly.
"You too, Lexie. Your dress is lovely, I wish I was you right now." Ginny smiled back.
"Are you saying you wanted to come to the Yule Ball with Malfoy?" The girl joked, making the two Gryffindors laugh when she felt someone's hand in her back.
"You never stop talking about me, do you?" Draco whispered in her ear and she smiled. "I was tired of waiting."
"I've been here for like 2 minutes!"
"You know I don't like to wait." He said.
"You love me too much, Malfoy." Lexie smirked.
The two Gryffindors were feeling like a third wheel even though they were together. "Wait..." Ginny muttered as she tried to get a better view through the crowd. "Look!" she said louder. "Isn't that Frances?" She finally got Lexie's attention and both of them looked at their friend who was amazingly beautiful.
"She's stunning!!" Lexie said. "Wait a second. She's with someone, isn't she?"
"I guess... But I can't see who it is, though..."
"Oh my god!!" Lexie almost screamed "It's Elliot! Elliot Hughes. He's just the hottest guy in Hufflepuff. Frances, that lucky bitch." She joked, laughing.
"He looks horrific, just like every single other guy in Hufflepuff." said Draco, bitterly. "You girls fall for every pathetic puppy face you see."
"Wow, first of all, stop being a cry baby, is that all jealousy?" Lexie wasn't enjoying Draco's attitude. "Now what, I can't admire other guys? Can't think they're hot?"
"You shouldn't bloody verbalize it in front of me, should you?" Draco tried to sound cold but his voice sounded more like a whine. "If you like him so much, how come you're with me?"
"Hi guys! This is Elliot, I don't know if you know him..." Frances interrupted their argument when she approached side by side with Elliot.
"Run to those filthy arms, go have fun." Draco answered when he noticed the boy's presence, clearly annoyed. Frances and Elliot were absolutely confused.
"Shut it, Malfoy. You're actually starting to annoy me more than usual. If I liked him better, I'd be with him. Now cut the crap and let's have fun, shall we?"
"Now you guys finally stopped arguing, we can go and have fun, The Weird Sisters are here, for fucks sake!" Ginny said, and they looked up to the stage.
"Alright Hogwarts, are you ready for some real music?" The vocalist shouted and the crowd answered with screams. "C'mon I wanna see your hands in the air... We're gonna teach a brand new dance tonight... You looking good! Are you ready? Are you ready?!" After all the classic music that played in the beginning of the ball, a little bit of rock was good to hear. All the students were dancing excited. In the middle of the crowd, Frances was dancing too, she had no idea where Elliot was but she was having too much fun to care. Then she felt something in her bum. She turned around and saw some pervert from Durmstrang. How dare he? Ruining her fun?
"Hey, stop that!" She said. He didn't know English, she figured, because he continued. She waved her head, trying to send him the message. Then it got worse, he grabbed her waist. Without hesitating, she grabbed her wand and jinxed his feet to be stuck in the ground, and left him there. She saw some red hair in the middle of the crowd. "It could be Ginny..." she thought. She approached the red haired to find out it was George Weasley who was happily dancing with Ella. "Damn it George, couldn't you just cut your hair a little?" She said to herself.
"This one is going out to all the lovers out there... Hold each other tight and keep each other warm..." The singer said. The song was "Magic Works". Draco and Lexie understood the message and quickly started dancing slowly. Same with Ginny and Neville. All around the room, people were dancing and smiling. Some of them drunk, some sober but everyone was having fun. And that's what Hogwarts is all about.
"Hey! Whitby!" The whole corridor could listen to George Weasley calling Frances. He was with his twin, Fred Weasley, and they were approaching Frances, Lexie and Ginny.
