"God, that woman was intolerable!" complained Mother on the car ride home.
"She seemed fine to me."
"Way to nice and cheery for her own good."
Mother continued to talk, but my mind began to wander. If James's whole family was in Gryffindor, and he was sure that he was going to be in Gryffindor, than I definitely don't want to get into that house. James was absolutely horrible, and his mother was rather annoying. James ha told me about the other houses.
"Ravenclaw for the smart people, Hufflepuff for the loyal and kind, Gryffindor for the brave, and Slytherin for the ev- cunning. I meant cunning." He had said. I wasn't quite sure which house Id be placed in. I wasn't smart, I doubt I'm very trustworthy or nice, I doubt I'm brave, and I'm fairly sure you have to be at least a little smart to be cunning.
"Get out." said Jackson, Mother's boyfriend, cooly, as soon as we got home. I didn't want to get into any trouble, so I scampered out of the car and ran to the house. And then back to the car to get my stuff.
