Lesson 4-----Transformation Theory

Chapter 4
Part 1----Vocabulary Definition
Static Spells-------Spells whose effect are immediate and end almost immediately after casting
Dynamic Spells-----Spells which you can alter them even after casting
Willpower-----The mental "push" to make a spell happen
Concentration----How much you focus
Wand movement------How you move your wand
Incantation-----What you say when casting
Transformation----Covered before

Part 2-----Key Points
1. All Transfiguration spells are static.
2. Willpower gets stronger in objects that are greater in size or complexity, as there’s more mass, or “stuff,” resisting change.
3. Transfiguration incantations are usually derived from Latin origins.
4. It is important to note that, while we will only be practicing on one particular type of the object, the transformations may be performed on any of the types. Similarly, as you get more advanced, you will find that these spells can also be performed on objects that are similar to, but not exactly, those for which the spell is meant. For example: Steam and Smoke.
5. It is possible for you to embellish on the resulting object with the right concentration.
6. The typical wand movements you will see are simple taps or jabs.
