A humming sensation filled Chase. It was surprisingly warm, and was comforting for him. He closed his eyes. He could almost feel his mother’s arms holding him tight. As if this had all been a dream. As if it had never happened.
Lily poked Chase awake from his daydream. He sighed. “ Stay on track!” Lily reminded him. All of a sudden, the wreckage filled with cold. “ Wha- what's hap-happening?” Lily stuttered. “ N-no c-c-clue. Chase answered, his teeth chattering. Then, Chase pointed a frozen finger towards a figure that had just became visible. The figure, however was floating above the ground. Chase and Lily backed away. The figure creeped towards the book and Chase. Chase realized it was transparent. A ghost. The ghost reached for the book. Lily screamed.

Chase woke to screaming. He sat up. “HELP! CHASE! HELP!” Lily yelled in agony. She was screaming so much and so badly that her face was turning a nasty shade of purple. Chase ran to help.“Are you ok?” Chase yelled. “Just come and help me! AHHHH!” Lily was getting swallowed by the pit. She was turning more and more transparent.
Chase screamed and grabbed Lily’s arm. He tugged at it. The force of his pull thru Lily onto the ground. She did not move. He looked down at her. “Lily! Please! Please talk to me!” Chase cried. A tear dropped down onto Lily’s cheek. Instantly, her skin tone began to change. Chase heard her mutter something thing that sounded like “Mrs. Tart!” Lily opened her eyes and stood up. Chase gave Lily a large embrace. Then Lily said, “I know who has been up to these strange attacks.” “Who?” Chase asked. “Mrs. Tart.”
