Chapter 3 - Harry At The Weasleys' Cottage
Chapter 3
Harry goes upstairs and as he goes to pack his trunk, he can't find Hedwig. But then, he finds her flying to the window and comes with a letter on her beak. Harry picks it out of her beak and says:
"How did you went out the window?"
Hedwig just frown and started making noise and also use her beak to hit the cage and kept quiet. Harry began to think Hedwig was annoying him, so he just ignored her and started to open the letter and read:
Harry,
Tell your aunt and uncle that we are coming to collect you early in the morning so you could spend the rest of the summer with us, so better start packing your trunk right now. Anyway, Fred and George are coming too.
Your best friend
Ron
PS: Linda can't come because she couldn't afford to come, she had lots of work to do with Hermione. I'm sorry to say this though, but I will explain fully when we get to the cottage.
Now he was feeling worse, he kept being sad about this and he went downstairs to give his letter to Petunia and Vernon. When he got there, he simply just gave him the letter in an affronted way. He took the letter and read it. Afterwards, he said:
"Why is this freaky friend of yours coming to collect you to spend the rest of the summer with him?"
He wanted to say 'Do I know?' But, he didn't want to make it worse for himself.
"Well, maybe, we have to do something important." Harry suggested.
"Well, don't care, you can go with this freaky friend of yours." Vernon said, carelessly.
So he went upstairs and as he went there, they were already there.
"Hey Harry, put your truck in our car and let's get out of here!" Ron demanded.
He just did so and went into the car with George, Fred and Ron. It took a while before they reached their cottage. Then, Ron told him:
"Sit down and I'll explain to you why. Well, the thing is that your girlfriend is with Hermione. Their studying in case they come across any question related to the topic we might study at school. But, anyway, why do you want to find out by the way before?"
"Because well," he said, in a hushed voice, "I love her and I also miss her." He said too, blushing.
"Oh, anyway-" Ron started, but there was a owl coming through the window with a letter on her beak.
"It's Fluffyfeathers. I wonder why she's here with a letter." Harry asked. He took it from her beak and started opening it and read:
Sweetheart,
Sorry I couldn't come to Ronald's cottage because I had work to do with Hermione. REALLY IMPORTANT! Well, if you think I've forgotten you, that's not true. I still love you Harry, well, if you're mad, forgive me okay? Please, don't be sad, if you are and I STILL love you.
From you girlfriend
Linda Granger
"Well, it's good she's okay. If not, I will always and always find out what is going on with her." Harry said, after reading the letter.
Mrs. Weasley came, really angry, with her hands on her waist.
"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!? Oh Harry, is good to see you, my dear. BED EMPTY, NO NOTE, CAR GONE! You could have died! You could have been seen! And you could have told me you were going to pick up Harry."
"But mum, there were bars on his window, so we had to struggle to let him out!" Ron said.
"I bet you pray that I won't put bars on your window Ronald Weasley!" Mrs. Weasley barked. Harry grinned.
A few minutes later, Ron's dad came in and said:
"Goodmorning Weasleys!"
"Goodmorning!" they said.
He went to her wife and kissed her on the cheek. He was very delighted to see everyone at home.
"What a night! Nine rades, nine!"
"Rades?" Harry asked, puzzled.
"Dad works in the Ministry Of Magic, in the Ministry Of Muggle Artefacts. Dad loves Muggles. He thinks they're fascinating."
"Well well, ahhh, and who are you?"
"Oh sorry, I'm Harry sir, Harry Potter.
"Good lord, are you really?"
He beamed at him.
"Oh, Ron's told me a lot about you lately, so when did they get here?" Mr. Weasley asked.
"This morning," Mrs. Weasley answered. "Your sons took a flying car of yours to go and pick this young man."
"Really? How did it go?" Mr. Weasley asked, but Mrs. Weasley hit it on the arm. "Oh, I meant to say that it is not right to go on my flying car without my permission.
They both grinned and they continued with their breakfast.
"Anyway, Harry, you must know a lot about Muggles. So what is the function of a rubbered duck?"
"Oh, well-" Harry started to answer but an owl came in with a bunch of letters.
"That's the school owl. He's always doing that. So annoying." Ron said, glancing at the owl.
"Go and grab it Percy, please." Mrs. Weasley said.
Percy went to the window and grabbed the letters and said:
"They are from Dumbledore, well, Dumbledore knows you are here Harry, there are some things we need to buy."
"Well, I know which place to go. Diagon Alley." Mrs. Weasley answered.
She went to the fireplace and took this pot of powder and she started to say:
"Ok Harry, you first."
"But Mum, Harry hasn't travelled by Floo Powder before." Ron said.
"Oh, of course, then Ron, you first so that Harry will see how it's done."
Ron nodded and he proceeded. He took a bit of powder and shouted, "Diagon Alley!" And he vanished and only smoke and ashes were left. Harry was shocked, but Mrs. Weasley told him to proceed. He staggered to the fireplace and took some powder, Mrs. Weasley said:
"That's it, now, remember to say it very, very clearly."
He looked at them and said, in a loud voice:
"Diagon Alley!" And he vanished.
"What did he say, dear?" Mrs. Weasley asked.
"Diagon Alley." Mr. Weasley answered.
"Oh, I thought he didn't." She said.
"How did you went out the window?"
