Chapter 5
He led her down a long hall.
Pictures in blood continued.
So many pictures.
Stags. People. So many pictures.
He stopped.
She stopped.
The hall of pictures was over.
All that was left was a cavern.
Three things.
Three things in the space.
Rocks.
Air.
People.
The people weren't of her tribe.
They wore different furs.
They smelled different.
They looked different.
They sounded different.
Yet they were the same.
They were all human.
As far as she could tell.
All were in pairs.
One old one.
One young one.
She stopped looking at them.
She looked up.
The cavern had no ceiling.
All she could see was the sky.
All the old ones went to the center of the space.
**
Shouldn't she be here?
He asks himself.
He hears a noise.
A knock.
A knock at his door.
He walks to the door.
He is excited.
So excited.
He opens the door.
The smell of the sea floods inside.
She is here.
She is the one he came from.
His mother.
