Australia Day

Chapter 8

G'day mates, and welcome back to another chapter of Hogwarts Monthly News! This chapter is for those of you who are planning to fire up the barbie with some good ol' prawns on the 26th of January in order to celebrate… Australia Day!

Australia Day, the official national day of our mighty country, is celebrated on the 26th of January every year in (you guessed it!) Australia, by us (you guessed it again!) Aussies! It marks the landing of the First Fleet in 1788 at Sydney Cove, as well as the raising of the Union Flag of Great Britain by Arthur Phillip.

Why don't we move onto the many enjoyable activities you can try out on this historic day?
- Go to your favourite cafe and have a delicious brekky with your family. If you don't like going out much, you can just have a cosy and yummy Vegemite and toast at home ; )
- Visit the beach with your favourite cossie on and a pair of comfortable thongs on your feet!
- Fire up a few prawns on the barbie, will you?
- Watch the beautiful sunset during the arvo! I know this is pretty simple, but trust me, it's worth it! Those colours are beautiful!
- And last but not the least...make sure to sport some Aussie merch throughout the day! We've got to show love for our beloved country after all <3

Remember to participate during the activities mates, please don't be a bludger! (And don't let the mozzies get to you! They won't win!!!)

That's all I've got for this chapter today, folks. Just remember to have the time of your life on the 26th of January. You'll be stoked...

Happy Australia Day, mates!
