Chapter 4: Tips For A Better Sleep
If you’re having trouble getting a good night’s sleep, here are some tips to help improve your sleep hygiene:
- Stick to a sleep schedule: Try to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day, even on weekends. This helps regulate your body’s internal clock.
- Create a relaxing bedtime routine: Engage in calming activities like reading, listening to soft music, or practicing deep breathing exercises before bed to signal your body that it’s time to wind down.
- Limit screen time: The blue light from phones, tablets, and computers can interfere with your ability to fall asleep. Try to avoid screens for at least 30 minutes before bedtime.
- Make your bedroom comfortable: Keep your bedroom cool, quiet, and dark. Consider using blackout curtains, earplugs, or a white noise machine if needed.
- Avoid caffeine and heavy meals before bed: Caffeine and large meals can interfere with your ability to fall asleep. Try to avoid them in the hours leading up to bedtime.
