Welcome back, readers, to another edition of Hogwarts Monthly News! This is our 10th issue now - wow, already? Well, yes, time really does fly by when you keep yourself busy! Hidden in the pages of this issue are beautiful poems, celebrations that want you to treat YOU, Christmas vibes and best of all, INTERACTIVE GAMES! 90 New Year Resolutions!

Chapter 18

(Hazel Antler brings to you the definitive list of  90 New Year Resolutions for 2025!)

Health:




  1. Spend at least half an hour exercising each day.




  2. Increase your daily water intake. Tip: use bottles with marked lines indicating how much water has been chugged so you can keep track of your water consumption!




  3. Eat more vegetables and fruits. Tip: bananas, avocados, blueberries, citrus fruits, carrots, spinach, kale and sweet potatoes are the healthiest!




  4. Make sure you get adequate sleep every night. Tip: at least 8 hours!




  5. Try a new sport. Tip: Personally, my favourite is basketball!




  6. Take a stroll everyday.




  7. Cut back on sugar.




  8. Try taking the stairs rather than the elevator or escalator.




  9. Learn to cook healthier meals.




  10. Eat less processed foods.




  11. Practise meditation and yoga daily.




  12. Practise breathing exercises and other similar things when experiencing anxiety or any other negative emotion like anger. Tip: Check out the Mental Health Awareness chapter in this magazine for more tips regarding mental health!




  13. Be self-compassionate.




  14. Practise gratitude.




  15. Try a relaxing activity.




  16. Be positive! :D

    Personal Development:






  1. Read a new book. Tip: my personal favourite series is Keeper Of The Lost Cities!




  2. Start journaling.




  3. Acquire a new language.




  4. Try a new pastime or activity.




  5. Develop your public speaking skills.




  6. Volunteer for a cause you care about.




  7. Develop better time management skills. Tip: stop procrastinating!




  8. Learn a musical instrument.




  9. Occasionally take a break from social media.

    Financial Goals:






  1. Set a budget when shopping.




  2. Start an emergency fund if you haven’t already.




  3. Pay off any loans or debts you owe someone.




  4. Steer clear of any unnecessary purchases.




  5. In advance, save for any expensive purchases.

    Relations And Social Life:






  1. Spend more time with family.




  2. Call or meet up with friends frequently.




  3. Handle disagreements amicably. 




  4. Join groups and clubs that you are interested in.




  5. Attempt to broaden your social circle by making new acquaintances.




  6. Express your appreciation to people you care about and your loved ones.




  7. Be more empathetic, understanding and compassionate.




  8. Attend gatherings and events more frequently.




  9. Reach out to someone you haven’t been in touch with for a while.




  10. Set boundaries when in relationships to keep them healthy!

    Environmental Goals:






  1. Reduce, reuse, and recycle!




  2. Use less single-use plastics.




  3. Conserve water and electricity as much as you can.




  4. Encourage organisations and companies that are eco-friendly.




  5. Try gardening.




  6. Use more public transport, bikes, and scooters, or other similar vehicles.




  7. Raise awareness on environmental issues such as climate change.




  8. Participate in clean-up initiatives in your local area.




  9. Plant trees.

    Education:






  1. Enroll in a course online.




  2. Learn a new skill that interests you.




  3. Try some creative writing or storytelling.




  4. Explore and research a topic you’re unfamiliar with.




  5. Educate someone about a topic you are interested in.




  6. Watch documentaries. Tip: the best is David Attenborough!




  7. Visit museums and galleries.




  8. Listen to TED Talks.




  9. Participate in a study group.




  10. Try debating.




  11. Try new recipes weekly.

    Adventure:






  1. Plan a trip to somewhere you haven’t been.




  2. Keep a travel blog or journal.




  3. Learn more about the history of wherever you visit next.




  4. Take a road trip to a place nearby you’ve been longing to visit.




  5. Try a new form of travel for the EXPERIENCE :D

    Technology:






  1. Keep an eye on your screen time. Tip: try setting up a timer for every app. This can be done on most gadgets in settings. I have one on my very own phone!




  2. Acquire coding skills.




  3. Create unique and strong passwords.




  4. Unsubscribe from any subscriptions that are unnecessary.




  5. Avoid using your device whilst eating.




  6. Get rid of unneeded files.

    Chores:






  1. Make your bed in the morning.




  2. Do your own laundry.




  3. Vacuum the floor.




  4. Take out the trash.




  5. Do your own dishes.




  6. Clean the bathroom.




  7. Cook meals for the family.




  8. Mow the lawn.




  9. Change the sheets.




  10. Feed your pets.




  11. Clean all surfaces and wipe spillages.




  12. Set the table.




  13. Wash the car.

    Other:






  1. Quit a bad habit.




  2. Quit addictions such as smoking.




  3. Be more organised.




  4. Try to get a job.




  5. Prioritise the things that matter.




  6. Become more productive.
