The Purple Forest
The wind howled behind her ears, the trees swayed to the call of death, and the light of life flickered to darkness as tears ran down her face.

Chapter 5 ~ Nyxia
Chapter 5
Nyxia, 24 November
I reach out for my phone on the nightstand. My mother called me and said "Honey, we won't be back until 23rd of December. Is that okay, or should we find an alternative ?". "It's fine mum. I can manage." It's already 10 in the morning. I wake up from the water bed and change from my pajamas into a nice jumpsuit. I head down for breakfast when I get another call. The worst call I could get. When
I start speaking, I find that there's a policewoman on the other side of the line.
Gosh, this is bad.
"Erm, I suppose you are Miss Isra? Nyxia Isra? Umm, well, we've got some bad news." she says.
"Yes, you are speaking to Nyxia Isra. What is that I'm supposed to know ?"
"Well, did you know anyone in the name of Cecilia Silverwood?"
"Yes."
"Unfortunately, she has been found without breath near The Purple Forest. It seems you were the last person she had reached out to. Through a voice not. We might need the voice note."
"Do you mind meeting us at the Dewston Police Station ?"
OFFICIALLY THE WORST PHONE CALL IN THE HISTORY OF HUMANKIND.
I lose control of my phone and drop it.
Tears roll down my eyes,
I balance my body on the floor with my knees,
I might as well be the unluckiest person on Earth to fight with a best friend, then find some sympathy for her and hear that she's no more.
I muster up all the life in me and take up my phone to finally hear the voice note.
"Hey. I know I've been not a great friend, but I tried my best. Today is my deathday. Now. I hope you'll forgive me atleast after I die. When I die, just look at the sky and say goodbye. I'll always love you. No matter the ups and downs we've been through. I've left some crostinis in your refrigerator. I know you must be angry hearing this at night, I probably disturbed your sleep. Bye bestie, will love you from heaven. "
Bye. Rest in peace.
I just keep crying, not knowing what I'm going to do next. But her voice sounded a bit different, not gonna lie.
It's over.
It's over.
It's the end.
Bye, Cece.
