you don't read a book more than once and expect it to have a different ending
no matter how much you love the book
no matter how much you love the setting and characters
no matter how much you love the main character's dog
you never expect a different ending
sure,you read it every couple of months because its your favourite book
but it always ends the same
you aren't oblivious or stupid
you know nothing changes
there's no magic that rewrites the ending for you after you pick it up again 
later in your life
so why do you do it with him and expect a different ending?
yes,i know his chapter was your favourite and the story never gets old
but don't you think after some time it does?
when you cant change his character to be the person in your head
and you cant change the storyline or the plot
don't you think it gets old?
there are millions of books out there,waiting to be read
with different storylines and different endings
and maybe in one of them you get the happy ending
but you will never know till you put this book back on the shelf.
