I'll admit, I was quite stubborn in waiting so long to read the tales of Harry Potter. Of course, coming from a partially magical background, I already knew key parts of his story going into my first read-through, though I slightly mourn how amazing it must have been to go in blind and discover each twist and turn for yourself. And now, less than two months after my first read, I am tackling it again, this time the good old fashioned way, with just my paperback, a pencil, and my mind (as well as a little extra research from external sources). I even doubt this will be my last read of the series, as I believe each read will give new perspective on each time. As I write this, I am only mere chapters into the first book, and have already discovered things that I never noticed the first time around.

What to expect 

It should go without saying that this diary of observations will be full of spoilers from the whole series of novels. Even what I notice in Philosopher's Stone may remind me of something in the final book, and I will write about it. Be warned! Only go into this if you're already familiar with the plot of the Harry Potter novels, or don't care about spoilers. 

I'm using the UK edition of this book, The Philosopher's Stone, known by American readers as The Sorcerer's Stone. This should not be of too much concern, as the content is largely the same. I will try to explain British cultural aspects and differences, as it's something that I personally find interesting. 

As with any other book I write, it will be subject to edits over time if I feel the need to revise or corrected anything. This will also be written as a work in progress. That is to say, I will publish these chapters as I write them, and the book will be complete at a later date.

This is an indulgent project of mine, so please forgive if the writing seems too personal, or not relevant to you. At the very least, it will give you a sneak peek into my mind.
