Usage Notes & The Usage of Ingredients

Store the Calming Draught in a cool, dry place. Avoid direct sunlight, but some light is okay. It can be stored up to three years. If the stored potion has a yellow or green color, it is toxic & should be thrown away. It tastes similar to bitter vanilla & children can safely use this potion. Avoid flying or using magical transportation when ingesting the Calming Draught. It can cause mild forgetfulness. The use of magical healing potions aided Alice & Frank Longbottom. The Cruciatus Curse was used on them by Voldemorts’ followers, which caused permanent trauma. Primary ingredients are the items used as a base to start the brewing process. Secondary ingredients are the items used to manage side effects of the primary ingredients. However, some secondary ingredients may also cause unwanted side effects. Tertiary ingredients are the items used to mask the smell, sight, & taste of the potion & are commonly mundane items. Tertiary ingredients are an optional part of brewing a potion.
